Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Halfway done with the shift!!!! I would also like to thank cudgee cudgee for his recommendation of the Idahone V sharpener. This thing works great at a good price. A quick and reliable way to put a good edge on a knife for those times we are too lazy to bust out the stones and be one with the steel. Doing some quick maintenance at work !!!

Yeah they work good I used to have the lansky turn box, sold it to a non knife person made it easier for him😊
Good on ya cudgee cudgee for sharing👍

Morning all 6.30 Sunday morning.
Kristy had Sat off, so we were out & about got some more tomato plants, fancy new hose nozzle, I do like a hardware shop. Had to go to a different shopping centre, so had a coffee not as good as my usual but ok. You see the Jb lamb in Jack's tweed slip.

Then we went to late afternoon movie session.
Sounds like a good day Mitch, what did you go to see? :)
Bob, spectacular covers on your May . . . is it palm wood? I'm going with Beni for the weekend.

Stunning Jeff
Yeah. The Revere Ware is great, but you have to wait for it to boil and then time the percolation.
This turns itself off, then keeps warm for two hours, and then turns the warming off. No harm in my wandering off and forgetting it. And it still has the viewing bubble that a lot of electrics don't. Faster than a pour-over, neater than a French press, no damp reservoirs breeding tiny monsters (automatic drip).

Sounds like a great find Jer  Nice pic of your ebony '18
I love your fire pit images Todd. Looking forward to a season of them. :)
+1
Another fantastic pic Dwight  :)
LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about this Knife! I love those old sweeping Nail Nicks that almost become long pulls- there's an era when they were used and I think it's great! the Stag is outstanding and it has a Stove Pipe Kick - such a great old Knife that oozes Sheffield old Day!
Well said Duncan :)
I hope I don't upset anyone - or that anyone doesn't misinterpret what I am trying to say here.....

I am extremely lucky enough to own a Stag Hartshead Barlow- and Jack I think that Knife is so amazing- even down to the Tweed pocket slip it came in with it's very own history.
I look at the Wooden Hartshead Barlows and think " My goodness that is one hell of a Handsome knife" I really do, and what I am thinking is that the Hartshead Wood version is not getting the full attention or admirability that it deserves because the Stag versions are so so fantastic.

I try to imagine that if? the Stags did not exist - the Wooden Hartshead's Crown would shine so much brighter, because they are indeed such a beautiful Knife.

Does anyone else think weirdly like I do - or do you get what I am trying to say?
Thank you Duncan, very kind of you :) I had hoped to do an ebony-handled follow-up, but Wright's had proved untrustworthy by then, and the sample I received was very badly made, so sadly that never happened :(
Got called into work for the night shift this evening 😔. 6pm to 6am. At every job I have ever had there is always a don't give an F guy. Well today he got me. Last minute call in on a Saturday. Was getting ready for a night out with the wife and poof...my plans disappeared into thin air. The General (my wife) was not pleased. Anyway going to make the best of it and use the OT pay to take her out later. Got Calamity in the pocket tonight. Hope everyone is enjoying their evening and weekend.

Ouch! That's rotten mate, I know just the sort of guy you mean 😠 I hope that you have an easy shift with Calamity, and that you and the missus can get out soon
Looks to me like you made the right choice. 😁
LOL! :D Yeah, not a bad burger :) I had quite a weird night though, the pub is my local, and I thought I'd get a pint, after my burger, and go out and sit in the last of the sunshine outside, and say Hi to a few of my neighbours. I was at the bar, and bumped into a guy I have known for years, but not particularly well. He told me he was sitting outside, with a woman I also haven't seen for years, and I bought them both a drink. For some reason, they weren't sitting in either of the attractive drinking areas outside, but down the side of the pub, in what I'd describe as a large bin yard/car park. We got chatting, but then the woman got stung by a bee, and talk about drama! My kids never made one tenth of the fuss, and he was running around like a headless chicken too. I was glad when I could get away! :D
I like that whale stamp on the top knife there. I assume that’s a Richartz stamp?
Yes, me too :) I think H herder 's example looks a lot happier than mine, which kind of looks like it is just passing through Japanese waters! ;)

I don’t disagree with you, Duncan. The Rosewood HHBs don’t get the same amount of love as the stag ones, and they really should; they’re just as excellent. Since I received my stag HHB, which was just last year (in a GAW Jack did), I’ve certainly been guilty of pocketing it and showing it off here more than my wood one, which I’ve had since they came out.

If I remember correctly, there were quite a few more of the stag HHB produced than the wood, so maybe it partly comes down to the fact that more Guardians have the stag.
I've certainly carried my Sambar stag model a lot more than the Rosewood one, I have well over 3000 photos of the former, and less than 200 of the latter.

There were 77 Hartshead Barlows in Stag, and 21 in Rosewood. It's worth remembering that my SFOs weren't over-subscribed at the time they were produced, I always had a few left over. The only exception to that was with the Rosewood Hartshead Barlows, which took a bit of juggling about
Anyways, thanks for the reminder that I should give the Rosewood some more love.

A pleasure my friend, enjoy your lollygagging! 😁 Cool pics 😎👍

I walked down to Charlie's, for coffee and a Danish, while I pondered where I could buy some kids toys on a Sunday. I eventually thought of a place, but it was a long way. I picked up a couple of things, but was feeling peckish. My plan was coffee and a sausage roll, but the cafes were all full, so I headed into a bar for a beer and a burger. Overhead neon sign made for some strange colours 😁 Glad I brought my brolly with me, as the rain is back! 😱 👍

That reminds me of my favorite restaurant back in Fayetteville. It’s not so much a hole-in-the-wall as it is a hole-under-the-sidewalk. There are several old neon signs on the walls inside (my favorite is one that just says, “Typewriters”), so unless it’s daytime and you happen to be sat by the window, everything has that same red glow.
