Good to see you are passing the knowledge on.I was just talking to my mate, Wolfie, on the phone, and he told me that, last night, his youngest lad, Idris, had mentioned me last night. Apparently, he has decided to build a bug-out bag, and asked his dad, "When is Jack Black going to give me a knife?"!Sorry Idris, I'll be right round!

To be fair, I've given his older brother and sister knives, but in the case of the eldest, Amos, his mum and dad, asked me if he could have a knife for his birthday, (he's since had a few more), and a couple of years later, Ripley asked me if she could have a knife for her birthday. In the case of Idris, he's never mentioned knives, and when I've asked what he wants for his birthday, he's always asked for something else (think it was a slingshot last year). He doesn't have a birthday due, but I've told his dad to bring him round, since you never know when he might need his bug-out bag
Here's Amos, a couple of years after getting his first knife. He's about 14 now!

I'm off to see my dentist this afternoon. I haven't had this one long, but she's leaving apparently, so I have a gift for her too. It's a 19th century tongue depressor

Thanks mate, I used to see a lot more of the kids when they were younger, and take them out walking, catapulting, fire-lighting, navigating, knot-tying, etc. Wolfie tries, but the first time he took Amos camping, they had to drive for pizza, as he couldn't get the gas stove lit!Good to see you are passing the knowledge on.![]()
Thank you. I love the pattern. The swayback is easily my favorite handle and I naturally am thrilled with the lambsfoot blade given my affinity to wharncliffes. With the more stout tip I can see myself actually preferring it over a wharncliffe. No doubt DavidWhen it gets to the weekend, I'll have a look on YouTube, see if he's cropped up on there yet!

Fantastic pic Steve![]()
It still amazes me just how fast Sheffield cutlers took to the Lambsfoot pattern, and how many produced it

Welcome to the Guardians good sirHow are you finding the pattern?
