I hope everyone is having a good dayWhen I was in Charlie's Cafe yesterday, they were playing some Bill Evans, and I remarked on this. It was rather depressing to hear from Sara, who made my coffee, that the track was listed as "cafe music"
However, this led to her telling me that she had learned to play the trumpet at High School, and how she'd love to take it up again. I told her about Musical Andy's stall, and she was very interested. It was nearly lunchtime by the time I got to the market, and by that time it had turned into quite a pleasant, sunny day here in Leeds. Andy's stall was looking as good as ever, and by coincidence, he had a brand new trumpet for sale, which he said he'd be willing to sell for £50. I rang Charlie's, but with the boss away, nobody is answering the phone
I gave Nobber Al the book he wanted to borrow, had a chat to Golden Gordon, and talked to Captain Birdseye and Big Dave about their respective ailments. A couple of the other traders asked about Tool Man, and I made sure to concoct the most terrible lies about his absence, combining a tale about how he had said he was too soft to stand another Winter in Leeds market, together with succumbing to an old-fashioned disease, of the same type that killed Oscar Wilde, and possibly contracted in the same fashion!
I made them promise to tell him what I had divulged!
I laughed my way to the Tunisian food stall, and sat down next to a Middle Eastern visitor to Leeds, who was dining with his wife and daughter. As he was paying at the counter, he told me, "It's so nice to see someone from another culture trying our food." He was somewhat taken aback when I spoke to him in Arabic
I did a bit of shopping, and then headed back home, calling in at Charlie's again on the way. Sara was thrilled with my photos of the trumpet, and found the price very attractive. Unfortunately, she couldn't just leave the cafe to go to the market, but hopefully, Andy will still have the trumpet next week

I'd say late 19th century Steve, maybe as old as 1870 or soThanks Jack, any idea on age ?
Sounds like it's not just this thread that moves!Good morning Guardians man this tread moves some days. I had to do a last minute trip out to Colorado yesterday and fly back to Utah today just to hand carry some RFID tags.

Well said
WRONG THREAD JJ!!
Good morning Guardians, the weather here is like Minnesota, 30 degrees cooler than it was last week!Might be time to dust off my beloved tweed cap
I don't suppose the weather will make much difference to Tool Man, but I hope it doesn't rain the whole time he's in Blackpool
I'm just waiting in for my joiner, who is on his way, and then I'll think about heading out to the market, via Charlie's
Have a good day Guardians

If I imagine a different knife, you will have to edit your post.Did have a great meal at a local brewery just imagine there is a Lambsfoot in these. I didn’t check any bags
"I pity the fool that ain't got a lambsfoot!"
Certainly quieter!Sounds like your Thursday was a little more laidback with Tool Man out of town.
I’m sure he’ll enjoy dispelling all the rumors when he returns.![]()
Yeah, weird about the marching band aspect. I guess a field trip to Harlem or Bourbon St were out of the question!I hope the trumpet thing works out for Sara. I played from middle school into high school, but I quit band going into 11th grade. I sometimes wish I would have stuck with it. I was pretty good, and I really enjoyed some aspects of it, but I hated having to do marching band. I still have my trumpet, and will take it out occasionally and play something simple for the girls. (I think it would take a good bit of focus and practice to be able to do it well again.)
I'm glad you still have your horn my friendHere’s a trumpet-and-Lambsfoot picture I’m sure I’ve shared here before.
