Really Steve? When I was a boy, we would walk miles to find a good Conker tree My street is lined with them, but most lie in the road until they get squashed. The only people who pick them up are over 40, at least

When we would visit my grandparents house , usually every other weekend my grandpa would always take me and my brother for long walks. He grew up in the same area and would take us all the places he would go as a boy. There were woods with a burn that led down to the River Clyde and the Bothwell bridge. The area was called the Lido. Next to the River there was an abandoned Nunnery that had an old road that was lined with Chestnut trees. That's where we got our Conkers.

Hope you’re feeling better now, Bob. I had some sort of upper respiratory thing that started about a week and a half ago. I’d say I’m 90% better, but I’ve been left with an irritating tickle in the back of my throat that’s kept me coughing. It wouldn’t be all that bad, except that it’s kept me from sleeping very well. I don’t think I’ve had a real full night’s sleep in over a week.

Hello everyone!

I had a lot of running around this morning preparing for a large event this weekend. One of my stops was a dairy for their delicious soft serve mix. Since the dairy happens to be right next to my favorite BBQ place... I saved that stop for last.

Look at the nice brisket sandwich! Their Mac isn't to shabby either!

Unfortunately, like everything else, their prices have gone up and the portion size seems to have gone down. I haven't been there in a year or so, but this sandwich used to have a lot more brisket on it.

Enjoying a nice rainy day off. Just finished with my long list of honey do's and now in the pickup line for my son. Got the mighty K'roo today.

When Eleanor started kindergarten, I used my time in the pickup line to learn how to solve a Rubik’s cube.

Listening to the Doors this evening and putting back a few. Hope you all have a great evening/morning/afternoon. Some brown ale and a frozen pizza heating up in the oven.

Julie and I went to one of our regular places for dinner. I normally get pizza here, but felt like something different tonight, so I went with a big pretzel and some wings. Albers along for the ride.

I’d say I’m 90% better, but I’ve been left with an irritating tickle in the back of my throat that’s kept me coughing. It wouldn’t be all that bad, except that it’s kept me from sleeping very well. I don’t think I’ve had a real full night’s sleep in over a week.

Really sorry to hear this buddy, I hope that cough's soon gone, and that you can catch up on the lost sleep
