Wow, those are some of the best photos I've ever seen Will! Absolutely spectacularJust got back from a trip up to Georgia - took some lambs with.
First stop was Jekyll Island, home of Driftwood Beach, where a coastal stand of old oaks was killed off (I'm guessing by saltwater intrusion) and scoured with windblown sand, intense sunlight, and plenty of salt water. If you like bizarre scenery and surreal woodgrain, it's worth a visit. Also, parts of the 1989 film 'Glory,' starring Matthew Broderick, Cary Elwes, Morgan Freeman, and Denzel Washington was filmed here - a boardwalk built by the film crew for getting their equipment to the remote filming locations remains.

Then on to Savannah, GA and a compulsory stop at Bonaventure Cemetery. Sun was out in full force and we were there in the middle of the day which made for less than ideal pictures - especially for a cemetery. Bonaventure was established in 1846 and was prominently featured in the book (and film) "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil." Additionally; John Muir, of Muir Woods fame, was so intrigued by it that he ended up camping out in it for a few months.

I had a lot of catching up to do in this thread, but seeing all of your fine lambs (and catapults) made it quite an enjoyable slog!
Still nothing on the job front yet, but one foot in front of the other!
"3-D House of Stewardesses" I might have made up, but "Dr. Tongue", never. SCTV is a while ago; that was a young John Candy.

If I grew a beard now, I'd look like Father Christmas!Hey, maybe I’m Korean! Ok, obviously not.I grow just enough facial hair that I have to shave every other day, but I can’t actually grow decent beard to save my life. My dad had a mustache and goatee, but it didn’t grow in well on the sides, and my brother has been growing a sketchy looking “beard” for a few years now that I’m surprised his wife hasn’t made him shave off.
My grandpa on my dad’s side was always talking about us having some Native American ancestry — supposedly he had a grandmother or great grandmother who was Cherokee — and that was always my dad’s excuse re: facial hair, but my brother did one of those DNA tests and there wasn’t a hint of that anywhere, so who knows.
He'd be in 'Barney Rubble' for that today!I can’t remember if it was something posted here or not, but a while back I saw some old videos where Fred Flintstone was hawking Winston cigarettes.![]()
I know the feeling buddyThanks for your thoughts on the movie. Probably one I’ll end up seeing when it’s streaming somewhere later on. (Without a lot of family around here — i.e., no grandparents to pawn the kids off on — Julie and I don’t end up catching a lot of movies when they’re in theaters these days.)
I've watched them both together on DVD. If I remember correctly, the extras on Death Proof weren't badIt was an interesting experiment. I remember, when I saw the whole thing in theaters, thinking Tarantino’s part of it (Death Proof) was a bit slow/dull, especially following the over-the-top campy Planet Terror. I’d probably agree with him that it’s his worst movie, but having gone back and watched it on its own, it’s still a decent enough flick. I don’t think I’ve actually gone back and watched the whole double feature together, even though I own it.
LOL!Thank you, Jack.
It's Friday, of course it's a great day.
Very cool gift.![]()

I used to go to the 'Minors' shows on Saturday mornings, and cigarette butts were flicked into the projection stream almost constantly!I can remember when you had to strain to see the screen from cigarette smoke at the movies. You could see the light from the projector in the projection room all the way to the screen as it cut through the smoke.![]()

A lot nicer than here today BillGood morning Guardians. Another beautiful day here in southern NC. Took my walk around the lake again and didn't see a soul. Guess it was too cold but it felt invigorating to me. I'll carry my Senator today.
