Thank you Barrett. The hunt took some time and effort but was totally worth it.![]()
actually it is from a place called the “Palm” which is a restaurant in the front and an automotive body shop in the back.

That sounded great, right up to the point where they cut you off!
When I used to write for national outdoor publications, I would often get invited on "facility trips", to swanky hotels, where me and my colleagues would be wined and dined, and unwind, and perhaps try out a new pair of boots or a Gore-Tex jacket, or something. In addition to some great food, there would always be a 'free bar', but the organisers would generally fail to take into account just how much some folks will drink in that situation. On one trip to the English Lake District, a handful of us sat up all night, drinking Rusty Nails. When we were all checking out, and the guy from the 'media liaison company', (who was a bit of a), was settling the bill, he didn't have enough money to pay!

Day off. Not much going on. Got a nice pot roast going in a new kitchen contrapment that my wife had to have. Kind of seems like a regular ole crockpot to me ,but triple the cost. HHB at my side today. Hope everyone had a great day.

Or she will tell me "Thats looks like a regular ole pocket knife ,but 5 times more expensive."

.....I would not dare complain to her about how much something she bought was to her face. That's what forums are for!!!!
My hobbies are 10x more expensive than hers.
On that Mate you get no argument from me.I can't go cold coffee
Very poignant Jack. Was Friday yesterday for me, and had to bury a dear friend of 50 years.Old Friends Friday tomorrow
Hi BarrettAnother handsome K’roo, Bob. H herder and I were just talking about his knives today. What does Willem call that shield?
I met up with H herder for lunch today at a local Mexican place. I had a birria quesadilla and Mexican beer.
![]()
The restaurant is just a few steps from Excelsior Bay/Lake Minnetonka. After lunch I walked down to the public dock to take a couple pics. I had my Katalox Albers Lamb with me today.

Thanks Mitch, rich folks used to live round here!My street's in a historic conservation area, and some of the streets are even wider. There's a back-street at the rear of the houses for the deliveries too!
I don't have the whole house I'm afraid, but it still gives me 3 bedrooms. Some of the houses are even bigger, but the (mostly) old folks, who live in them, struggle to heat them, as they have large rooms, and high ceilings
There's an Indian guy who has a food van, in the market, and we sometimes get snacks from him. His potato bhajis are just like scallops!![]()
Thanks David, wasn't badNice-looking IXL my friend

Looks like a great lunch and cool photos. Those are always the most rewarding.
That sounds pretty legit to me.
Never underestimate a man given unlimited access to booze for which he doesn’t have to pay.
What a fantastic knife, Jack. Was 2017 the one where the swedge that was almost like a secondary sharpened edge?
I only have it occasionally, but that’s also true of coffee in general. I drink it maybe a couple times a month.
Another handsome K’roo, Bob. H herder and I were just talking about his knives today. What does Willem call that shield?
Great pic, Todd!
Your HHB’s looking good, Paul. Enjoy your new kitchen gadget.
Similar to what Mitch said, I usually get, “Don’t you already have one like that?”

Looks fantastic, glad you and Neal had a good meal. Hope we can do the same again at the badger show this year.
That's good news buddy, you've been working flat-out for a while nowWill be glad to have things slow down a bit starting next week as I’ve been going 100 miles an hour for the past month or so. Thank you to everyone that has worn the uniform to defend their nation (yes, I understand we have vets here from more than just the US).

Good morning Guardians, it's bright and sunny here, but cold no doubt. It's Remembrance Day weekend, and today is called Armistice Day here, when, on the 11th hour of the 11th day, in November, the WW1 guns fell silent. The generals liked the symmetry, but after the ceasefire was agreed, a lot of men continued to needlessly lose their lives, including a miner from Leeds
![]()
The Sheffield Regiment was decimated on the first day of the Battle of the Somme. Three of my great grandfathers, (two of whom were Irish), did not return from WW1, and the fourth, who had re-enlisted, was wounded. If the war had been a couple of years earlier, I might not be here. Here's a photo of my surviving grandfather, I hadn't known he was wounded until I was researching one of my grandfathers who didn't make it, and came across a press report, quite by chance.
![]()
Both my grandfathers made it through WW2, but of course many good, young men, from all over the world, didn't
Carrying my Needham Lamb today, it has an unusual feature

I'm going to be working all weekend, but I'll go into town for the two minute's silence we have here. Have a great weekend Guardians
