What a beautiful day. 60s and the sun is out. Operation leaf was a success. We did lose a man along the way . Refer to the picture below. Just as we got finished the mailman delivered a new knife. Not a lamb so I can't show it. Anything better than recieving a new knife? Well a few things but that is besides the point . Calamity was faithfully at the ready today. Hope everyone had a great day.

I must admit, when I saw the movie "War of the Worlds", in my pre-teens, I had a few nightmares!!!!
(~70 years ago!!)

I had nightmares after seeing the 2005 version Charlie!

I’ve got my Stag HHB today, and a couple new Stephen King books that came in the mail, which I got on a buy-two-get-one-free sale.

Cool pic Barrett Misery - absolute classic! I can't remember now if I read the book first, or saw the movie, but I think it was the book I watched the movie a year or so ago, and it was just as good as ever! KInd of reminded me of the time I went out on a (almost) first date in another town, and my girlfriend accidentally broke my leg! I only went down for the night, and ended up down there 2 weeks! (Yeah, I can laugh 20 years later! )

I’ve seen the movie, but never actually read the book! Come to think of it, these were all movie-inspired purchases. The other two are collections of novellas; Different Seasons contains Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, and Four Past Midnight has Secret Window, Secret Garden. (The movie version of that one wasn’t particularly well received, but I always liked it.)

I actually already had a copy of Four Past Midnight, but it’s a mass market paperback, a format I’ve come to really dislike, especially for a book that size. I’ve slowly been replacing a lot of them with trade paperbacks.
