Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

NkL2f3C.jpg

I have my eaves cleared and the leaves packed up from where they accumulate against my house. I have put the mower in the shed and dragged the snowblower to the garage, and the old snowblower still works.
Still, I'm OK with Winter's running a little late hereabouts.

I'm thinking about making a chapeau de fer with a wide and toothed brim that rotates freely on a central pivot, for when the Burmese and reticulated pythons get this far north. I'll get Taylor Swift to endorse it, and my fortune will be made.

Agreed, what I was referring to seems, vto be a plethora (good word plethora)๐Ÿ˜ of high end disposable bladed box cutters being made & used ๐Ÿ˜ฑ I'll stick to a Lambsfoot.
Ah yes! Definitely Mitch, a Lambsfoot is so much better to use :)
That's because people cannot sharpen a knife anymore. ;)
You're right Leon  There are even pocket-knives, including some pretty pricey ones, being sold, which don't have a knife blade, just an accessory for holding a disposable blade! Why on earth would you want a piece of junk like that in your pocket, and show everybody how dum you are?! ๐Ÿ˜– ๐Ÿ˜†

Very industrious Jer, I guess it pays to be organised with the kind of winters you have  Most times when it snows here, it's barely worth the effort of clearing the path. I've done it in the past, only to find that the snow has all gone by the next day! :rolleyes:๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜† Nice to see Big Rose :)

I'm just having a break for a couple of pikelets ;)

Itโ€™s โ€œA Charlie Brown Christmasโ€ for me Barrett.

A classic!

Beautiful burl Barrett.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
Give me the Grinch.

Thanks, Bob. ๐Ÿ™‚ Iโ€™ve got three different Grinches on my list. ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ Personally I could do without the Jim Carrey one, but Eleanor likes it, so it makes the cut.

Definitely... The Star Wars Holiday Special... The Boys and I watch it every year, even though they endlessly complain about it every year. ๐Ÿคฃ
It's so bad that it's good... Okay, it's not really good, but it's a tradition.

Iโ€™ve heard about that one, John, but Iโ€™ve never seen it. Iโ€™ve got a few on my list that fit that last statement. ๐Ÿคฃ

It's a Wonderful Life, starring Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed, directed by Frank Capra.

You know, I never watched it until a few years back, but now itโ€™s one of my favorites to watch every year.

I really enjoyed it mate, but I've liked every season :) What did you and Julie think?

Yeah, theyโ€™ve all been good. I thought the last season was a bit odd, only because it seemed almost like a completely different show, but it was still good. The new season feels like itโ€™s off to a good start.

And Tool Man is a few sandwiches short of a picnic! ๐Ÿคฃ:thumbsup:

๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

It's coming fast isn't it? I'm beginning to feel like a Lamb transfixed in headlights! :eek:๐Ÿคฃ Great pic buddy :)

Definitely. Youโ€™ll be spending Christmas morning on a beach before you know it! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

How about The Long Kiss Goodnight?! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Hey, some of the best Christmas movies arenโ€™t explicitly Christmas movies. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Brother it has to be the classics.
Die hard & lethal Weapon. ๐Ÿ˜‰
My eldest loves the Grinch & home alone.
I've seen the grinch so many times๐Ÿซจ

๐Ÿ˜:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Good morning Guardians, thanks to Tyson and Mitch for keep the Good Ship Guardian afloat ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿฅ‡I hope that everyone is having a great weekend :) After meeting up with Matt, and his family, in Charlie's for breakfast, we went into town, so the kids could see the Christmas lights, and had a look round one of the museums. They wanted to go shopping, so me and Matt sneaked off for a couple of pints. By chance, we bumped into Brother Tony, and his missus, Louise, so after Matt went off to catch up with his dad, I went for something to eat with Tony and Louise, and then for another couple of pints. It was cold all day here yesterday, but in the afternoon, it got noticeably colder, and I was near frozen by the time I got in! ๐Ÿฅถ I'm surprised I didn't wake up to snow! โ›„It's 32f right now, and I'm glad I have plenty to do in the house! ;) The weather-folks are forecasting snow for later in the week, but we'll see

Sounds like a pretty good day, Jack. We went over to some friendsโ€™ house last night. They have a daughter Eleanorโ€™s age and another whoโ€™s a bit older, so all the girls got to play together while we had a few drinks and ate pizza. It had been flurrying on our way over, but it didnโ€™t look like it would amount to much. By the time we left, though, there was a pretty good dusting on everything, and the roads were a getting slick in places. We passed one car who apparently took a roundabout too fast; it was up on the curb with its front wheel sticking out at an angle that looked like it was going to be expensive to fix. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

I had my Afzelia Burl Albers with me. If weโ€™re doing pile side pics today, hereโ€™s one from when I first got it.

Honoring the pile side theme before light hanging duties. I hope all had a great time with family and friends.View attachment 2403767
Couldn't you just break them on a wheel or something Bob?! Great p[ic of your Charlie Lamb buddy ;) :D
Thanks Jack. Yea, the wind can take a chilly day and make it miserable really fast. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘
Yeah, it's not like I was just wearing a T-shirt either! I can't remember the last time I got that cold! ๐Ÿฅถ
Good morning Guardians, rainy here today so no fireside photos, but hereโ€™s my soggy โ€œPile Side Sundayโ€ shot. Like Rufus1949 Rufus1949 , Iโ€™ll be doing some Christmas decorating. We did the outside yesterday so itโ€™s the inside today. No tree yet though, that should be delivered some time this week. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘View attachment 2403797
Aha! Got it! :D ;) Sorry about the fire Todd :( I hope the rest of your day goes well :) You still managed to take a great pic! :D

I've seen all the others multiple times, but watched the last one online, rather than on DVD. I'll undoubtedly buy the DVD when I remember though! :D Yes, the new season definitely has a classic start! :D
Definitely. Youโ€™ll be spending Christmas morning on a beach before you know it! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
I'm looking forward to it mate :) It's just over 3 weeks away, but it feels like I have a lot to do before then :) I'm just hoping I don't catch Covid or anything!

That sounds like a lovely evening Barrett :) Cool pic of your Albers Lamb too  :)

I managed to get a few chores done in the house, and even got time for a bit of sharpening and fettling ;) I had a go at easing up the pull on this Burlap Micarta Lamb I picked up, thought I was getting there, but I'm going to have to go back to it  The edge is never going to be pretty, but at least it's sharp now

Gave The Chieftain a strop too :)

Since I had my Hartshead Barlow in my pocket, I thought I'd give it a drop of oil and a quick tickle ;)

Down in the bottom of my fettling box, I found this old Joseph Rodgers Lambsfoot that some of you probably haven't seen...

Unfortunately...

You get to seem the dishing at least! It'd be a candidate for a re-cover, but....

That Pen blade is pokey as a punch, so it comes in handy for poking inside a blade well sometimes. Shame though :(

Great capture of the burl Barrett.๐Ÿ‘Œ
Agreed, I don't mind missing Carrey in any movie.

I always find a little stopping and honing relaxing .๐Ÿ‘Œ
