Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I got this Ashwin Earl in burl. The reddish dye didn’t take on some of the burl. And it’s almost magenta in areas. I’m glad there’s quite a few differences between the two I have. Nice additions to the flock. I look forward to seeing the builds you guys have on order.

Really interesting Lambsfoot with a lot of unique features!

I think that was Harvey’s. I noticed another unique knife he owned (a GEC #15 Navy Knife that had been modified into a Lambsfoot) for sale on eBay last week, from a seller in Illinois (where Harvey lived) with an eBay username having something to do with estate sales.

I just went back and looked and it appears David’s unique new Lambsfoot was sold by the same seller. Glad that one ended up with a Guardian at least. Makes me sad to think what might become of some of the other knives Harvey cherished so much, but I suppose that’s what happens sometimes when you’re gone. :(
I been wondering how that seller ended up with so many Lambs. I've bought several of them.
I’ve got my Katalox Albers back in my pocket to start the week (not a new pic).

Sweet Albers!

Interesting examples Kurt

Harvey was an avid collector :) I used to receive so many PMs from him asking about knives he'd bought, or seen on sale, and if I thought they had Lambsfoot blades. There was a lot of wishful thinking! :D :)
Morning Guardians! Been working on the Venture H M Slater Bex Lamb. Still gotta get the edge straightened out from bad sharpening then it'll be good to go. Ethan will be at the ready today.

Nice work David :) Stan Shaw did work for Slater's for a while, and Mrs Slater always kept in touch with him :) I am just about to write out a Christmas card to Rosemary, Stan's widow. I have left hers and Geoff Tweedale's until last, because I want to add a short letter

Those are amazing. Digging the long pull on the new one. Treasures, my friend.

Tool Man meets up with a couple of his old pals every Tuesday night. He calls it the Swimming Club, but they haven't been swimming since about 1973! :D)
😂😂😂
Good morning all..I was ready to go to the British Chip Shop today, but it's closed Monday's and Tuesdays, strange☹️
Well there is always tomorrow.

Excellent find, David. I quit eBay 🤣🤣🤣. I can’t hang with you boys.

Steve, yes there were some great breweries in this state beyond Hamms which include Schmidt, Grain Belt, Schells, Gluek, and Fitgers just to name a few.

Barrett, my Dad seemed to enjoy listening to baseball on the radio outdoors, but rarely indoors.

Jack, sadly, I'm old enough to remember those TV beer ads in black and white. :)
Looks like your gearing up for a nice and warm get away.

I've always liked the graceful handle curve on swayback Lambfoot models.

LOL! :D Yeah, I need a break mate, it's STILL raining heavily here, I don't remember a wetter year! The Swayback is the peak of Lambfootedness I think! :D Cool pic :)

A crazy morning. Have some college students on base doing forestry and environmental surveys. About 7am they called and said that there were 3 possible unexploded ordnance locations. Drove all over looking for them and eventually found them. 2 were old C ration cans left from God knows when and one was the fins from an old concrete mortar round sticking out of the ground. Better to be safe than sorry I suppose. It’s good to dust off the old land navigation skills from time to time. Nothing else interesting planned for the day. ‘19 is my EOD inspector companion for the day 😂😂.

Nice.
Did the excitement add to their entrance fee?🙂

Sad Bob,
Not unusual, here a lot of restaurants close Monday or Tuesday for a day off.
Thursday lunch?
Nice knife mate.
Yeah, a few restaurants and cafes have started closing on Mondays here, the past few years, too. Only a minority mind 👍

Cool pic Paul, you probably had a more interesting morning than most of us! 😁 When I was a kid there was still unexploded ordinance around from WW2, which led to news stories fairly regularly. My granddad kept an unexploded bomb down the cellar for years! 😱 One day, when I was about seven, he asked me, "Have I ever shown you my bomb Jack?" My grandparents lived in an old terraced house, which, not long after, was demolished in the 1960's slum clearence programme. My grandfather went down the cellar steps, shouting for me to wait while he made sure they were clear. A few minutes later, he cried out to my grandma, "Where's my bomb Elsie?!" She shouted back, "I gave it to the scrap-man two years ago!" So I never got to see it! 😁👍
The lamb loves cutting leather!
