Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I don't know about cheeky brother,
The venom of the Eastern Brown Snake is rated as the second most toxic of all snake venoms in the world, next only to that of Inland Taipan (which is also a native of Australia). The venom of an Eastern Brown Snake contains a cocktail of poisons.
Oh, I meant in terms of trying to get into the house Mitch, I've heard of its reputation - anywhere else, but Australia, and it'd be called something like the Deadly Brown Viper, or the Brown Killer Snake, but I know you don't go in for hyperbole ('For crying out loud, it's only a Salty!') 🤣
Thanks Jack
I like to keep bone, stag & wood waxed every so often, gives a nice sheen..
You have a good day & get a nice coffee somewhere 😉
It's a good thing to do mate :) Thanks, I ended up having one in Charlie's after all, partly because I ended up having more time than I'd expect - because I forgot to have a shave! 🤣:thumbsup:
I was accosted by a toothless hag in the middle of town today, who asked me if I'd like a dance!  🤣
Sweet horn Jack. He must have been a real stud to give up that fine horn.👍🏻
We got some good stuff in that first run buddy :)

This isn't my engagement calendar, by the way. It's my where are we again? calendar.
My calendar is blank, which explains a lot!🤣
That doesn't sound like a good business plan 🙄
No, so many small businesses go under for reasons that are often readily apparent
I always love seeing that Lamb, such nice horn !
Thank you very much Steve :)
Beautiful lamb Jack. I agree. In my opinion, the reason we go back to places is because of the experience and the people are a huge part of the experience. 😎👍
I agree Todd, I know other businesses that have gone under for the exact same reason, failing to factor themselves into the equation, and also being too quick to hire, and hand onto, mediocre staff

Having called in for coffee at Charlie's anyway, but not wanting to eat there, I went into town, and had lunch at my favourite Thai place. I ended up with quite a few things to do in town, doing some shopping, going to both my banks, and then picking up my prescription. I've just back home :) Hope everyone's day is going well

Good morning Guardians. Going to do some light and easy skiing later this morning. Several years ago I took a picture of a non-lamb in this very window. I like the light, so I thought I’d take the same photo with my Albers. Have a great day everyone! 😎👍View attachment 2497477
I'd forgotten you were away Todd, I hope you have a lovely time on the slopes :) That's a great shot there my friend :)

Dwight it really depends where you are, on the coast you get a lot red belly black snakes. Where I grew up in outer suburb lots of bush, now mostly developed. In drier areas seem to be more brown. Here's a video by forum member sonofwilfred Dan's a farmer.
Spooky. One has considerable motivation to become more observant.
Fantastic wood buddy!
Thanks pal!

So... you pull their teeth and then have a dance... :D😁

Looks like fun Todd! What is it they say? ..."Break a leg!" ;)

Well, that makes our eastern diamondback rattlesnakes, coral snakes, and cottonmouths just seem quaint!

I've heard the Black Mamba and Fer-de-Lance aren't anything to sneeze at either!

As a teen, I was a junior member of the University of Miami's Herpetological Society and got to speak with Bill Haast on a number of occasions. Interesting cat, to say the least.

As a kid, my folks used to take me to his facility, the Miami Serpentarium, where he was known for doing live demonstrations with his 16-foot King Cobra. Later, at one of the herp society meetings, he admitted that when he and his wife were arguing, he'd let the cobra's strikes come extra close as he knew she'd be watching from the kitchen window and would reconsider the importance of whatever the argument was about. Their home was on the property and he did the cobra show in what was basically his front yard.

They had a massive sculpture of a king cobra hovering over the entryway to the Serpentarium, and when the facility closed, the cobra sculpture was donated to, and installed on the roof of South Miami Senior High School - their mascot? The Cobras, naturally.

Good morning Guardians. My wife is having her girl friends over in a little while for card games so I will be making a hasty retreat with my HHB.

Sounds like a good plan 😉

Hello Guardians. Taking a few extra days off after a long few weeks. I’ll be catching up on the thread. Wishing you a good start to the weekend. Katalox today.

Enjoy your extra days off !

I gotta tell you Guardians I do not like bugs. Especially big ones. Bug sizes around here keep within my toleration zone. That’s a plus for me living in the Golden State. And forget about living where comatose iguanas fall from trees when the temperature dips low. Wow. Here no hidden gators lunging from puddles thankfully. Turkeys here are pretty friendly though. Have a good Friday and weekend.

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is doing OK, and made it through another week in one piece. Here, it isn't sunny, but it isn't raining either, which is a welcome relief  I have quite a few things to do in the house, so I don't think I'll be able to get out until this afternoon. I might call in at Charlie's for coffee, but with cake off the menu, and conversation limited to my very limited Italian, due to only Anna and Fabrizio being there, I might not bother. I've only called in once this week, and it was pretty quiet. It's a shame. Having set up a good cafe, I think Hisham has been far too quick to absent himself from running it, since he was one of the reasons people went in. Managing it out to a couple of people who barely speak a word of English, don't cook very well, and one of whom is a total misery, isn't a recipe for success  Going with an Old Friend today :) Have a great day Guardians

Don't forget the deadly Adder!  Or even worse...:D

That sounds fascinating  I remember seeing a couple of documentaries about this guy/lunatic who went trying to find the world's deadliest snakes. He seemed to get bitten, at least once each episode!

Thanks pal, I forgot to post the pic I took, on my phone, of Boring Ray's sign, yesterday. I'm guessing Tool Man wrote it out for him  😖 🤣

What's missing from this story is what happens next. So I am free to imagine a samba, or a foxtrot, or maybe just a classic slow dance. Good on you, Jack. ❤️
You're free to imagine what you like Tyson, but please don't share it, I'm going to be having nightmares as it is! :D The old girl sort of mumbled something at me, but I didn't hear what she said. She then said, "Do you want to dance?"
I said, "I'm getting a bit old for that."
She replied, "I am too." And I departed at speed! :D I was reminded a bit of one of those old Westerns, where the evil gun-for-hire goes, "Go on dance!" (I would post an example, but unfortunately if you put the words 'cowboy' and 'dance' into the same internet search these days, you get some pretty awful stuff! :D)
Happy Friday Guardians !

I'm totin' Slick today 👍
