Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I carry a lambsfoot...

...to, among other things, slit the crusts of my pies.

How 'bout you?

Thanks, Jack. It's frozen, but I'm going to eat it with homemade mashed potatoes with plenty of butter! Debating whether to have a glass of water with it or a beer. ;)

Mmmm....Sounds good Vince, I think it'd go well with a beer ;) :D

I am still off my food, but to be honest, for a man my size, that's not a bad thing!

That sure looks good!

Thank you my friend, came in a self-seal bag, but you needed a knife to open it!

It's beef with some vegetables: peas, carrots, potatoes. 4 minutes left on the timer!

Provecho hermano

He died from 'apoplexy and chronic disease of the brain'. He didn't leave a lot of money - under £800 - but that would have scarcely made him a pauper in those days
I couldn't "like" that. Poor fellow.

I'm guessing water, at this hour, and you a responsible respectable galoot..

I think the difference between our meat pot pies and the meat pies of Britain is that ours are soupy and theirs have gelatinned stock instead of soup, allowing a blockier shape and picnic portability. I'm lazy, but I think I have to get out my Jane Garmey Great British Cooking A Well-kept Secret, unfurl my apron, and have at it.
And why is it so long since I had hot dogs incised for cheese and wrapped in crescent roll dough?
And oh, I don't know about sausage rolls, but I used to get sausages in batter at that Greek Fish n Chips by the Ladbroke Grove Tube Station.

Went with the water because I have to work this afternoon. (It's only midday here). Beer in a few hours! (Came close, though). :)

I forgot about the time difference Vince! Yes, I hate working after beer! ;)

That was wonderful Jack, thank you for taking the time to post it!

My pleasure Glenn, Geoff Tweedale put in the hard work  I used to live close to Broomhall Street, Broomspring Lane, and St Philip's Road

LOL! I used to go in there Jer! :D First place I had both saveloys and Jamaica patties, and I also remember having sausages in batter from there! :D

Yep, went with the water for now.
Not an English pie, but on an English plate with an English knife!

Just taking another look at Vince's pie! :D You need some Henderson's Relish Vince! ;)

Thanks for that Jack. Like most history, it's both interesting and sad, all at the same time.

Thanks John
