Congrats on your retirement bigfish64 bigfish64 👍

Afternoon all
Spent some time oiling carbon blades.
So I gave the scales & bolsters with a cloth a buff while I was at it.😎

Looking good !

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone has had a good week. I have some boring 'paperwork' to do this morning, but there's an outside chance I might be able to grab a coffee with Wolfie, at some point, today. Got my Pals Lamb in my pocket, shown here with another old book I picked up in the market. Have a good day Guardians

Pal Lamb 😍

Cool Lamb !

Looking good Mitch :)

Thank you David :)

Very tasty Mitch 😋 I think my tomatoes will end up in a soup! :D

Hope you enjoy yourself Bill :) Is 'Links' a common word in the US? I remember hearing my parents and grandparents use it, but can't remember hearing it used here for a long time (but I don't move in golfing circles)

As the slug said to the snail, "Where's Michelle?" ;) Nice photo John

Nice edge on that beauty Bob

Frustrating Jer

'Sweet' was just the word that came to my mind too! :D

Classic Steve

I'm surprised it's not referenced in the Thread Index. That kind of phrasing was common in the Sheffield cutlery trade, long before the Lambsfoot pattern came about. Abram Brooksbank knives were even etched 'Real Knife', and other cutlery manufacturers also included the term 'Real' in etches and stampings, so not that strange. Maybe the word had a slightly different meaning back then?

Good afternoon Guardians, 3pm here in Yorkshire, and I haven't been back from the market long. The temperature has been cooler, but the rain held off at least. Tool Man excelled himself in gluttony, consuming a loaf-size beef sandwich, and 3/4 of a pizza Martin bought, which he then had the cheek to complain about! Of course, that wasn't ALL he ate! At least, since he is suffering with toothache, he's currently off the cake! 😇😁Along with the regulars, we had a few of our irregular visitors, including Scooby, from Tool Man's old motorcycle gang, and Big Dave, (pictured below, centre), who did the catering at Tool Man's wedding. Hope everyone is having a good day

Thanks Jack. The term "Links" is a commonly used term in golf circles.
A links course is a type of golf course typically found in coastal areas and characterized by natural terrain that has been shaped by wind, rain and the sea.
The term "links" (from the Scottish word hlinc, which means "rising ground" or "ridge") refers to the landform on which many links courses are built. They’re usually built on sandy soil that drains well, with few trees and natural hazards such as dunes, tall grasses and pot bunkers.
Since the first links course was established in the 15th century, links courses have become an integral part of the game, and many of the world's most famous and challenging courses are links courses.

Fascinating Bill, thank you for the information :) Interesting that it's origin is Scottish too  I hope you enjoyed your round yesterday

Good morning Guardians. Hoping everyone is heading for a good weekend. My daughter just announced her engagement to her long time boyfriend, Chad. The wife went out to California this past week to firm up plans at the venue, pick out wedding dresses, caterers, etc. In other words...spend money! Thankfully I have my HHB handy to slit my wrists; just kidding.

Congratulations Bill, thanks for sharing the happy news :) At least your wife is taking care of the wedding plans, that side of it terrifies me even more than the empty pockets!🤣

Congratulations Todd, if you're looking in, wishing you a long and happy retirement my friend :)

Charlie Lamb's looking good Paul :)

Very spiffy Jer

Nice pic Mitch :)

That's some cool-looking patina

Now that is a cool picture, Jack. Classy lamb with what seems to be a classy looking book.

Congrats to your daughter and fiancé. I feel bad for your wallet, Bill 😁.

Rare day shift for me. Pretty slow at work so I’m out looking for chicken of the woods mushrooms. Got the KRoo with me today.

I hope that means you've got the night off buddy ;) Nice way to use your time :) Lovely Lamb

Good morning, Guardians! I've crossed paths with most of you in other parts of the forum and I couldn't ask to be associated with a finer group of people, thanks for letting me join in here as well. I've had this ebony lamb in my pocket for 7 days now and it doesn't seem like it's coming out anytime soon. I'll be planting some of these flowers at the office today.
