Good morning Guardians. Hope everyone is having a good weekend's eve. I awoke feeling less than lively but forced my 3 mile walk anyway. When I got home I relaxed little and had some fruit. I believe I"ll just kick back and enjoy my Blue Rope today. This is what happens to all of us old farts that mix beer and scotch.

Despite the incredibly disappointing content, I can never resist ordering a copy of this rather bizarre, and very irregular, publication, when it occasionally appears. It looks good, but is largely comprised of adverts and shameless 'publicity puffs'. The really strange thing about it though is that every single part of it is written by the same person, and he can't write for toffee!

Another disappointing read was the vintage Baden-Powell tome I picked up yesterday, which actually doesn't contain anything about Scouting, but rather is full of the author's rather bizarre opinions on life. I researched B-P's life story for an article a while back, and it did not enhance my opinion of the shameless self-publicist, and militarily incompetent 'Father of Scouting', who actually took most of his scouting ideas from an American gentleman, of far more impressive stature Still he does have a place in history for founding the Boy Scout movement
