Good morning Guardians. Got a few small things to do around the house this morning and then we have to go shopping to pick up some stuff for the upcoming holiday. The good thing is when we are finished we’re going to our favorite Mexican place! Have a great day everyone.

I had an intense day today, my phone barely stopping ringing! Made it over to Wolfie's fight venue, and called in at a pub for a couple of pints first. I've known that pub 20-odd years, and it was a respectable pub at one time, but I couldn't help, but notice, it is absolutely filthy! The venue was just up the road, but what a pit that place is! The guy who runs the fights is a nice guy, he does a lot for the community, but he's ruthless when it comes to raising money for the club, and maybe doesn't look at the big picture. You don't get much for your £30, not even a comfortable seat, or a good view of the ring. We always pay extra for a table, but there are so many (hard) chairs around them, that you can barely sit down. The toilets were disgraceful, the DJ is banging out rotten music, at 11, as soon as the doors open. The bar staff are the worst I've ever come across, so there's a long queue for the bar, and the drink prices are disgraceful. Kids are let in for free, but unfortunately, that means that the whole place is overrun with them, and they're screaming, fighting, running around, sitting on the edge of the ring, and taking up most of the seats. The fights were OK, and Wolfie won on points, but I can't say it was a great evening unfortunately I'll be glad to get to bed now, so I hope everyone has had a great day, and that you have a fabulous weekend

Common thing now my friend. Any big fights now are more about the entertainment than the actual event, loud music blaring, flame machines, over the top announcers and that includes the ring announcer, so the fight game attracts a different follower now. They are not fight fans, but so called sports fans who want to attend an event but don't actually understand anything about said event. We had a boxing promoter here who put on regular fight nights that i attended on a regular basis, they were not widely promoted so only attracted genuine fight fans, but COVID finished him off sadly. I miss the fights, but won't attend when they are attended by the intellectually stunted.

Thanks mate, Wolfie said he felt a bit 'stiff' in the ring, and found it his hardest bout to date. He looked fine to me, and I thought he won conclusively. He was fighting a big lad, from Manchester, who I've seen fight a couple of times before. He seems like a nice guy, and a skilled boxer

I know what you mean mate These fights aren't on that level, and most of the audience are friends or family of one or more of the fighters, but there's a lot of unnecessary razzamatazz, while basics (like advertising) are neglected. They've had a series of DJs, who are absolute idiots, they could save some money by sacking them. The same with the silly MCs, rapping, and dancing about. Sorry to hear about your local promoter going under The guy here is the trainer, manager, promoter, and runs the gym!
