Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Looks like a hearty lunch :) The South Yorkshire embargo on Henderson's seems to be relaxing a little, I even picked up a couple of bottles in Home Bargains in Leeds the other day  ;)

Hope you gents are keeping warm :) I went out for a walk, and the wind was absolutely bitter - that was before it started raining! ;)

LOL Jack! Do you know that I can buy the Black Gold in a Cheshire farm shop for less than than it costs in God's Own? :D
I've been busy+++ over the past few weeks so missed the introduction of your ivory lambsfoot. It really is a stunner
No lambsfoot for me today (or tomorrow) as I'm about to head out to work.
Hope you enjoy your Sunday everyone

Floating around over on AAPK, in their store they had two AC’s. Had to get one, to stop my other AC feeling lonely.

Russell

I was surprised to see your post Russell, but I'm glad that one has found a good home with you :) I hope you didn't have to pay a premium for it

I've never been over to AAPK, I barely get time to explore all the threads in The Porch these days!

Why would anyone sell his AC?

Rather disappointing to see :(

Thats very nice. You did well, I'm checking there all of the time and all I find are sold. I like the smooth with those random scratches like that.

Have many of these knives sold over there?

Not a pic from today, but I had my AC with the 2018 BF knife in tow today. Having both of those made me appreciate how much blade the AC has in relation to the handle length. Such a fine knife!

They really cram a lot of blade into the Lambsfoot frames don't they? :)

Quit posting all this stag....:(

Sorry Taylor ;)

I hope everyone is having a great weekend :) Despite the weather-forecasters usual hyperbole here, and warnings of a snowy Armageddon, it's a much nicer day here than yesterday. Cold, but with some sun at least, and the Arctic wind has dropped. Unfortunately, I'm unlikely to get a chance to go much further than the garden as I have too much work to do o_O Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday

I'm sticking with these two again today - sorry Taylor ;)

Nice pic GT :) Enjoy your Sunday my friend
Thanks, Jack. :) I hope your Sunday ends up being less busy than you anticipate. ;)

I volunteer in the "under 18 months" room of the church nursery on the 3rd Sunday of each month (and the 5th, if it exists), so I'll be there this morning. In the afternoon, we'll go "pay our respects" to the family of one of our across-the-street neighbors who passed away this week. Life has lots of beginnings and endings, including here on The Porch; I was struck by the recent juxtaposition of Taylor's @tmd_87 new daughter and Charles' @chuko death.

I hope I'll also get some time to catch up on BF today! ;)

Thank you Gary, I can't see it really, but I'm sure I'll get distracted from time to time ;) That sounds like a nice way to spend a Sunday morning. Sorry to hear about your neighbour. Yes, that's the circle of life. Very sad about Charles :(

Take care pal, and hope to see you around ;)

I missed your post mate, we were posting at the same time! :D That is shocking news about the Black Gold! :D Great to see you here David, and thanks for the compliment on my Albino, as I have started to think of it - it was hard to get a decent pic of it yesterday as it is so white it kind of skews the light settings on the camera, and looks kind of alien in a woodland environment - like a deadly mushroom! Consequently, I filtered most of my pics  Hope work is bearable my friend, and that we'll see you here again soon

That tooth is AmAzInG!!:thumbsup: What is the length of that knife?
You could still have the sausage just lose the bread!:) Cool pic of your AC.

Thanks Mark, it's 4" closed

Don't tempt me! :D ;) Thank you, hope you're having a good Sunday

Most assuredly a one of a kind knife! Fitting that you should be it's custodian. I bet it's a pleasure to hold. (Antique) Ivory has a special feel to it. IMO
I have lost 35 pounds this last year, just by cutting carb intake. (bread mostly) and watching sugar. As much protein and fat as you want to eat. The pics of pearl with the grilled food is my diet most days. I feast and still lose weight. I did go from 2-3 beers a day, to 1 beer and a glass of red wine. I must say it makes that one beer even more enjoyable.
Hope you have a great Sunday too, Jack.

Thank you Mark, it's the largest of my ivory knives, and it certainly does have a special feel :)

Well done, that's a real achievement, good for you :) I absolutely love good bread, but try not to eat too much. I have a couple of slices of sourdough toast most mornings, but only occasionally eat any more bread the same day. I have a load of wine and beer (and spirits) in for Christmas, but I'm going to try not to overdo it. I had a virus about a month ago, and lost my appetite for both food and alcohol, so it hasn't been too hard so far. I don't own any scales, so don't know if I have lost any weight, but I have tightened my belt by a couple of notches, so I guess I must have lost a little :) Thanks Mark

Jack there is very little of these knives over here. I actively searched and was never pleased with what I found and made no purchase until the ones I received from you. The only other one I have was on the exchange.

Here it is reflecting a winter sunset last January:
GT that is a wonderful photo!!!

Jack Black Jack Black , another way to lose weight - keep buying antique ivory clad knives.....:D

Thanks Dwight, I had meant on that other forum :) I don't mind people selling them if they don't want them, but don't like to see people exploited

Yes, that'll keep from eating too much! :D

Golly! That is a high tariff indeed!

Particularly on a not-for-profit knife which originally sold for the same price as Wright's standard small Lambsfoot, (with Pere David stag, rather than vintage Sambar, no etch, standard fit and finish, and no threaded bolster) :(

Anyway, let's not talk about buying and selling, I hate all the commercial stuff, as I'm sure many of us here do
