Doing fine, Jack. Been kinda hectic around here, but will be checking in more. Will post my first Lambsfoot later tonight.
That's good to hear Vince, I know the feeling buddy

Looking forward to seeing more of you
Wow, I’ve been absent for a couple of days and a LOT has happened.
Jack Black
congrats on the thread making 5k pages and 100k posts. But more thanks for introducing me, and so many others to the lambfoot pattern… and to the chip butty
Cool giveaways, and a new GL-24 SFO? Plus lots of great posts.
Boy did I have some catching up to do. Sorry if you all saw my random likes and loves coming through on days old posts!
Anyways, I’ve been busy packing up my house for a move. Very excited about that, but I’m already beat and have so much more to do. It’ll be fun though.
Did have my Charlie Lamb in my pocket today.

I hope your move goes well

Thanks for sparing the time to call in, and show your Charlie Lamb
The star of that old detective thread,
The Silence of the Lambsfoot
Camera? I'm sure the young whipper-snappers will show you how the phone works.
Although maybe you are awaiting a re-release of the
Nokia 5110, it was indestructible

Have a great lunch!
Hey, I'm not THAT old!

My first Nokia was the 3210, (had a Motorola before that

), I once saw one survive being run over!
Thanks, Jack. That picture is a great demonstration of their unique characteristics.
I took the pic at the suggestion of

The pith pattern on my A Wright (left - ha!) almost looks like it wanted a dramatic flared blade well like the C. Johnson on its right.
I think they generally cut stag too wide in Sheffield today. That one looks pretty good, as they used to grind off the bark, leaving them characterless (see example below)

Great detail on your Christopher Johnson

I can't say enough how much I appreciate this 2024 Guardians surprise Barrett! The micarta is simply spectacular in color, grain and texture. What a wonderful heirloom lamb!
An absolute beauty Dwight, great pic
Sweet Mitch
This is the first lamb I purchased when I started collecting about 5 years ago. I had seen this thread and admired the pattern from afar so I decided to order one to try out. The rosewood scales are beautiful and the fit and finish is spot on. I carried it a few times and quickly realized the blade shape was extremely handy.
I figured it would be similar to a sheep foot but it’s different and I can’t explain it, in a good way. It wasn’t until recently that I started carrying one daily and that’s when it really struck me as a tool I’d like to have with me everyday.
Anyways, I’m a fool for burlap micarta so please count me in, Jack. Thank you for being such a welcoming ambassador to the pattern and authoring the legendary Guardians thread!

I think we all know what you mean Pat

Great-looking stout there, with your fine-looking first Lamb
Yay!
Last day with Union Jack as Lambsfoot of the Week for me. And it was a short day for Union Jack since I left him home this morning as my wife and I, and Gandalf our dog, left town for a 2-week stay on the shore of Lake Huron in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We've been going there for a week or two every August for over 30 years, but the place we always stayed never allowed pets. This year, my wife found an opening just across a small lagoon from where we'd always stayed previously. Nice to have the dog with us, but it will take a while to get used to staying in a different place. Here's a photo, from 2019, of Union Jack on a dock post of the place we've always rented previously. In the background is a line of cottages in one of which we're staying this year.

Have a great vacation Gary, I've always particularly liked that shot
Mowing the lawns with one of my youngins and nearly hit a bearded dragon. Season is turning, snakes to come

Yikes! Interesting wildlife Jack, thanks for taking a pic

Covers on your Lamb look good
Well, by gum, I am in!
Here's my first lambsfoot:

Ashley's Choice, one of 28, I believe. Love the Sambar stag. Got interested in the pattern thanks to this thread, of course.
Nice to see your AC Vince, I'd forgotten that was your first Lambsfoot
Tasty treat Mitch

Do you ever slow roast tomatoes in the oven? I used to do it often, but haven't for ages. Patina is looking good
Good morning Guardians, it's looking dull outside today, and a little breezy. I've noticed the temperature has been a little cooler the last couple of evenings, and the nights are starting to draw in again. I love the long summer nights, but back in June, we certainly didn't have a summer. Next weekend, my neighbourhood is host to the oldest Caribbean carnival in Europe. It's a big deal for the local people, particularly for the shopkeepers, for the kids, and for the folks who've spent months making elaborate costumes. We've been lucky with the weather the past couple of years, but why they decided to have it at the end of August, when the weather can be unpredictable, I have no idea. I do hope we get some sunshine, because it really makes all the difference
Back to today, and I could do with catching up with some housework

Then, I might have a walk down to Charlie's, and get a coffee and something to eat

Got my Waboom in my pocket, to hopefully put a spring in my step

Have a great day Guardians
