Catching up with some mates tonight to camp at the family’s shack. 50 acres out near the mountains is a nice little getaway.
But first brekky, haven’t had an appetite lately so looking forward to a decent feed.

Life is still throwing haymakers but I’m still kicking. Got a lot going on but still always have a lamb with me. Have the GL24 tonight for my shift.

My friends I must apologise for my absence, weird isn’t it? When I am drawn away from my most loved place I feel I have apologise.
Huge tasks not giving me much playtime.
I want to reach out to our good friend and well liked Bladeforums member Barrettbtb01
Obviously a LOT of work having gone into this project with Barrett starting this up with Eric Albers and putting his neck out to have the numbers made to then distribute.
That would have been quite huge. Jack and Charlie would know this all too well!
So my hat off to you Barrett my friend, thanks go out to our friend Jack too of course who I can truly say inspires us greatly, and to Eric to thank him for the Craftsman side of things and allowing some of us to have a taste of his magnificence.
As well, a thank you to my fellow Guardians. Thank you for being some of the internets nicer people - the World needs more of you.
This arrived not so long ago, I consider myself very lucky and privileged.
Just look at the thought having gone into this by Barrett !![]()

It will be my new nap central.Hope you enjoy your lolollygagging
Very shortly after I made my last post, a piece of perfection arrived at the door, in the form of a long-anticipated package, or rather its contentsSome time ago, Generous Bob contacted me, and offered to sponsor a Lambsfoot made by our friend Cosimo de Bendetto of Italy, with my choice of design and materials. I was left speechless by the generosity, but in due course, the 3 of us embarked on this project. I took a month or two to think about what I would like to see, and then put forward my proposition to Cosimo, my Dream Lambsfoot. I was very exacting in what I specified, but Cosimo did not flinch for an instant. For example, I wanted the Triple Rattail bolsters to be perfect, and Dwight
Fodderwing very kindly assisted by taking some fantastic photos of 2 of his knives. I was very happy with Cosimo's K720 Bohler carbon steel, but asked if he could also use that for the liners and bolster, as well as the blade. The frame is a little bit larger than Eric Alber's, but smaller than the one I've seen on Cosimo's other Lambsfoot knives. It has a beautiful amount of sway, and fits my hand perfectly. The knife has the perfect amount of weight to it. The Lambsfoot blade is perfection itself, with lovely swedges, and a well-placed, nail-nick. There is a half-stop, and the pull is just right. As you can see from the photos, the covers are ram's horn, something I had always wanted to see on a Lambsfoot, but without their natural character completely polished away. What a knife!
My deepest thanks to Bob for making this possible, and for encouraging me out of my complacency, and to Cosimo for his wonderful work. I also hope that Cosimo enjoyed the project, because he really did an amazing job, and was very easy to communicate with, despite the language barrier between us. I love the fact he has a Lambsfoot image on his business card
Some hastily-taken photos, and I hope to get better ones soon![]()

Brilliant!
They're set to become collector's items Barrett!I’m glad yours finally made it over your way, it looks great! I think I’ve got it figured out in the group pic (the process of elimination is easier at this point).

Duncan’s image with his Guardians knife and all its accoutrements got me thinking about something. There were several of you who posted “complete package” photos like that, with the write-up, stickers, etc., but I don’t think I’ve spotted any of the rare “misprint” write-ups.
You see, I typed up each of those on my old Royal Futura 800 typewriter (which, coincidentally, is from the around same time period as the elevator micarta, late ‘50s/early ‘60s). And, of course, being far from an expert typist, I occasionally made mistakes. I discarded quite a few, wanting them all to be just right, but after I’d done 20 or so, there were a couple on which I made a small mistake after typing out almost the entire thing, so I just X’ed it out and kept going.Think of it like the dark spots on the micarta, gives it extra character!
So I wonder… who ended up with a misprint write-up?
Enjoy every minute of it David!Morning Guardians! Nice fall day this morning. Serious lollygagging on the agenda.![]()

Your positioning of knife and skeleton keys would make a nice shield.
