Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone's week is off to a good start. I spent most of the evening napping on the sofa, and still slept like a log last night! I need to head into town today, but I'll definitely be calling in at Charlie's on the way for some coffee! Had spend time time cleaning up the back. Wind and rain, lots of leaves and a bloody possum eating some of my plants and leaving it's business all over the pavers.



Then Kristy wanted a quick trip to the shops or the insurance office anyway.

Good morning Guardians, I am still absolutely cock-a-hoop over my new Lambsfoot! I'm glad there's no bad news on the hurricane, and hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm going to get scrubbed and shaved, and then have a walk down to Charlie's, where I haven't been for a couple of days. Then I'm meeting Wolfie and his brother, and hopefully a couple more mates, for some beer and lunch, in town No surprise on what's in my pocket

I’m glad the package finally arrived, Jeff, and I’m even more pleased that you like the knife! Enjoy it!

I did think, as I was ordering a couple of my favorite condiments to include in with the package, “Well what happens if the person who wins doesn’t like spicy food at all?” I don’t think either of those are too spicy, but obviously everyone’s tastes vary when it comes to that sort of thing, so I hope you can enjoy them!

Coincidentally, I received a package in the mail today from @Heynowwww containing a couple hot sauces. I had commented on Rick’s GAW entry, which contained some hot sauce’s from Smokin’ Ed Currie — I believe my comment was that they scared me — and Rick was kind enough to send me a couple bottles. I’m not gonna lie, they definitely still scare me, but I’m gonna give ‘em a go, or at least give the slightly less sinister (I think?) Pepper X Table Sauce a go, and if that doesn’t kill me, then we’ll see about the other. Thanks, Rick!

Be careful with that Carolina Reaper. Unlike most of the other really hot peppers, Carolina Reaper doesn’t start fading within a few minutes. I have had it once, and half an hour later I was still in pain.

Last week I was visiting my son in Rancho Cucamonga and we went to a taco truck fair near his place. He bought some birria tacos that were the best tacos I have ever had. A couple who ran their own condiment business had a table set up. Among other things they were selling a Caribbean hot sauce made from scorpion peppers. Very good flavor, and although it packs a punch, it’s not at the painful level you get with Carolina Reaper.


Seeing everyone with their ‘17 horn, I had to pull mine out today.

Thanks Bob, it was nice to see her I think the owner of a business might have taken more care, but in this case, it was a manager, and a new one at that. The thing that annoyed me most was that when I went to pay the bill, (because he didn't bring it to the table), while Eve went to the bathroom, and he asked me, for the first time, how 'things' had been, in a most cursory fashion, and I said "Alright, thank you", the cheeky swine had the nerve to ask, "Just alright?" So I then had to list some of the shortcomings, which I would have preferred not to dwell on, and there wasn't a bit of humility on his part Since we were the only customers, it didn't look like his employers could afford to be losing them, in the way they now have, in my case

Yikes! A few of the shops near where I live, sell a good range of Caribbean hot sauces, but I suspect they are the cheaper, more familiar ones. Great to see your '17 my friend
