Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Double lamb day, won’t get a chance to post tomorrow.

We’re heading to the big smoke, Han’s mum is running in her 10th Melbourne marathon so we’re seeing her off for that. staying with my mate tonight and taking the kids to the aquarium while we’re there.

Wanted to take a nice knife for the trip,
GL-24 gets the nod.

For the song, hard to go past Paul Kelly when talking Aussie artists.

The Barrett

Great picture !

That is amazing mate, and i mean amazing. We have had the same phenomenon down in the Southern Hemisphere where i live over the last few nights. A bit far away for me to see it, but not that far away. It is very rare for here. 🤯🤯🤯

Thanks, we get them in the northern part of Minnesota pretty regularly but to see then down here in the Twin cities is fairly rare.

Southern lights earlier this year.

Good choice and nice pic of the Southern lights !

Afternoon all.
Leftover over Shanghai beef for lunch.
Lorna turns 21 tomorrow (Sunday).
We had an extended family dinner at the favourite Chinese last night
Looks tasty ! Happy Birthday to Lorna 🎂👍

Thank you for the kind welcome, Jack! 🤝
Great to have you here Chris :) Sorry for the slow reply
Jack, have a grand time catching up with Duncan.
Thanks a lot Bob :)
Great pics David! 🤣
Handsome Lamb my friend :) I was rather surprised to find that our hotel in York had opted for an inferior brand of tea :(
Striking photo Steve :)
Northern lights have been spectacular here the last week or so. Perhaps solar activity is partially causing some of the slow internet some have been experiencing?

Is that possible Dan, I'd never thought of that? Ace photos of your Charlie Lamb
Two new arrivals. Ones too nice to use, the other my wife wishes I wouldn’t use!

LOL! :D I have a Hohner somewhere, came with a small book, something like 'The Idiots Guide to Playing the Harmonica' - was a bit much for me! :D
Oak again.
Sweet Mitch :)
LamBarJack seems to have a real nose for food.

Tasty-looking pics mate
Ahoy Guardians!

We've got 30 mph winds and almost no rain down in not-at-all sunny South Florida. I've just watched a weather update which explained that Miami is on the dry side of the storm so if you still don't believe in witchcraft (pronounced "brujeria" in these parts - I'd say it's as good a time as any to reconsider your position. 🤣

While it may be perfectly dreadful to occasionally stumble across a chicken carcass or a disembodied pig head laying near a crossroads (not kidding - it seems that intersections of train tracks and regular streets are preferred) and adorned with spooky little coconut bowls filled with god knows what (animal sacrifice is still the offering du jour for the old, dark Santeria gods...) for goodness sake people - can you argue with the results??!! 🤣 I mean, we've just successfully diverted two, TWO, massive hurricanes in a row. I'm starting to think I might consider conversion... 🤔

In any case and by any definition, the weather is indeed inclement - and I've only got one lamb that's really suited for it: My Jack Black Jack Black special!

yia6G58.jpeg

P.S. - I drove over to my GF's father's place for tacos and the lighting over there is as dreadful as the weather - but there is indeed electric lighting and a house propping it all up, so I'm gonna go ahead and call that a win!

I hope the rest of the Guardians are as safe and dry as I am! 🤞

Congratulations - @321Bandaid and @sbh06 ! And thanks for the chance Rufus1949 Rufus1949 ! I'll vouch that Chris is a stand-up dude - for whatever that's worth coming from someone who just spent a whole paragraph praising the fine work of modern witch doctors. If my vouch casts him in a now poorer light, then I take back everything I said.

Carry on, Guardians!
Will, I love that voodoo, that you do! :D Hope you're still safe and dry :)

Fantastic pic Jack! :D
I hope the weather cooperates for your visit with Duncan.
Friendship, good food, adult beverages and knife discussions, should lead to a grand visit.
Hope you have a good visit with Duncan 👍🤠
Thanks a lot guys, the weather was great, a truly memorable trip :)
Dragging around Palomino today.

Great to see that beauty again Bob :)
Evening all.
Lunch

& later on.

Looks tasty Mitch, great pics :)
Have a great time !
Thanks Steve :)
Great to see Palomino, Bob. I'm back home after the hurricane and the house had little damage. The power is still on so didn't lose any food, either. Thanks to all for your prayers and concern. We're fine. I had Roper and Berry on me for protection!
That's wonderful news Jeff :)
Good morning,  Gentlemen Guardians! 🤝

I'll be carrying this fine lamb today. If what I've read holds true, the heartwood should lighten in color over time. That will certainly be neat to witness!

Recycled pic as I'm stuck in the office today:

Interesting Heartwood info Chris, nice photo :)
Morning Guardians! Nice fall morning. Another IXL Lamb 🐑

Good morning Guardians !

Beautiful day here, it's going to be in the lower 80's later.

Stripey at the lumber yard 👍

Cool shot of Stripey Steve :)

We need to see that t-shirt.
LOL! :D I have over 45,000 photos on my PC, but not many of me, and 30 minutes looking, didn't turn up one of me wearing that T-shirt, I'm afraid. I definitely have at least one though, as I've posted it here before. I'll look later if I get a chance
Hard to get the Katalox in a picture but it sure is cool. The department sponsored a calendar this year. Primary school kids submitted art in a keep our river clean contest. I like this one. 🤠

Cool pics Pete :) Water companies have filthied our rivers up again here
Jack, what an amazingly stunning knife!! Congratulations!!!
Thanks buddy :)
Good afternoon Guardians! Been a really hectic 2 weeks or so..... Trying to read back through the thread, but I might have to just start fresh again.

This one's been with me the whole time

Outstanding pic of your Hartshead Barlow :)
Good Thursday to you Guardians. That picture Jack is funny. I’m a maybe about the shirt story. They were laughing though so they couldn’t have been shocked I guess. And you’re not locked up so my suspicion has to be mistaken. Hanging out with those Ted’s can be a bad influence. The woman not smiling with the cudgel mace thing looks a bit scary and might know you guys from the Leeds Market. Look out for that one and maybe give her a piece of cake. She doesn’t look friendly like kind hearted Shirley.
LOL! :D

Reckon I could get away with a hat like this Kurt?! 🤣

Few more

Here’s some pics of a new lambsfoot. Right next to the bottom of the bolster on the pile and mark sides are two “blind pins” which are attached through the liner side. Willem I think was insuring the ram horn would be that much more stable. I sure like the ram horn. But Steve’s lamb rehandle by Glenn has my favorite ram horn covers. Jack’s “Aries” is up there too. Damasteel blade and round bar pattern damasteel for the shield. A fine K’roo.

That's pretty spectacular!
I’ve decided to run with a theme for a few posts and celebrate a bit of Aussie music.

Of course accompanied by lamb content.

I think I prefer Aussie Cinema :D ;) Cool pic Jack :)
Bonus pic of the day 👍

Stripey's not so stripey side

That's quite a contrast Steve :)
Guardians, I hope you don't take this personally, but I'm hoping the Guardians (Cleveland's baseball team - formerly the Indians) lose their playoff series to "my" Detroit Tigers.

More LamBarJack hanging out with food (mostly healthy):

Looks tasty Gary :) Me and Duncan had a scone yesterday, with the tourist trappings! :D ;)

Vivacious Violet.
Violet is looking lovely Mith :)
That would be helpful!
I just spent over 30 minutes looking at names for the Cleveland major league baseball team since the start of the American League as a major league team in 1901. They've had several name changes!
But I was shocked to discover that the Cleveland team had been a team in the Western League in the 1890s that was based in Grand Rapids, MI where I currently live. And I was even more shocked to learn that this info on the internet is basically wrong, but has some kernels of truth! What a fascinating mess. 😲 🤓

What IS currently true is that the Guardians lead the Tigers 4-3 after 7 innings in a back-and-forth game. :(
Come on Tigers, kick the Guardians in the boot!

Nice to see more of your Hartshead Barlow Gary
Thanks, Jack, I really like that Gurkha glass. I've got Diego back in pocket this evening.

Thanks Jeff, I thought about asking if I could buy a couple, but didn't really want to carry them around. Excellent photo my friend :)
Good morning everyone 😊
Oh man, I love catching up with Jack, I remember saying goodbye to him last time at the Train station and so felt such a dreaded feeling of sadness.
Yesterday we walked around York a fair bit - both of us a bit sore this morning 🤣
Here we are at Dinner last night, spot the Lambsfoot 😍View attachment 2682913
LOL! :D Fantastic to see you pal, the time went too fast

That's our Nepalese waitress in the background, who was a lot of fun. There isn't a big Nepalese community in Britain, but there are a few clusters in military towns, such as Aldershot, where Gurkhas have settled after retiring from the British Army
I'm envious Duncan. I'm glad you are enjoying your time together.

Are you sure it was just the walking, leaving you sore?🤣
We only had a couple of pints Bob
Good morning Guardians. Played 18 yesterday - beautiful Scottish type links course. Cold and windy - just like Scotland! No offense to our Scottish friends! When I got home I pulled out my Senator Lambsfoot knife. Will be in the ole pocket for awhile - very convenient size.
IMG-4277.jpg
Sounds like a good day Bill, I don't think any Scot would take offense at your summary of the Scottish climate! :D Nice pic
Dwight @Fodderwing hasn't posted since Sunday. Hopefully everything is okay with him.
I really hope so
Good morning Guardians. Perfect morning for a fire. Hope everyone is doing well and we hear from Dwight @Fodderwing soon. Have a great day and weekend! 😎👍
I have missed your fire pics Todd, definitely warm my heart :)

You are fortunate to have such good company, Duncan!! ;)
(Nice to see you Jack!!)
Thanks Charlie, you were all along with us :) I have got my reading glasses on :D

Cool pic Bob, I'm sure Dr Seuss could have got a book title out of it! :D ;)
Morning Guardians! Hope all is well with you y'all. Bog Oak 🐑

Had them here at Billinge yesterday as well. 😊👍
Really?! Wow! I need to stick my head out of the window more often! :D
Cool new slingshot Jer, how do you find it? I have one set up with tubes, just like that, but prefer the bands, on the whole (I did used to shoot single tubes a lot, with one of my slingshots)
Today is Missy Higgins, my teen crush and a great Aussie musician. She’s one of the few that sings in an Aussie accent which I enjoy. I may marry her yet, just need to run it by Hannah.

Photo experiment about four years ago: one evening I tried a pic on the patio in low light, followed by very similar set-up using flash.

I haven't shot it yet. The loops flop easily enough that I might manage to pull one out of the frame and into my face, as they warn. My face isn't always safety-glazed, even though I know better. And I've never had to go out of my way to provide slapstick comedy.
It bugs me a bit that they say to tighten your clip-screws only finger tight, and they give you domed slotted screws so you can't use your fingers. I'll see what I can find at work today.

Thanks Jack, I hope you get some time to put your feet up this weekend.
Thanks Bob, I was supposed to be going out with the boys this afternoon, but as I've got something on tomorrow too, I decided to save myself for that. I had a package to pick up from the post office up the road, and after that was going to go for pancakes and coffee at the yuppie joint next door. It was full though, and I wasn't particularly interested in waiting outside in the rain, for a table to become available, as they suggested, so I called in at the supermarket instead. Inside, I spotted one of my elderly neighbours, but since she's deaf as a post, I quickly gave up on gaining her attention. Five minutes later, I was about to check out, when she spotted me. When I briefly told her about my fall, she asked if I believed in homeopathy. I decided to spare the check-out lad, the line of people waiting behind me, and myself the conversation, with a deaf, batty, old lady, who doesn't believe in homeopathic hearing-aids  ;) That's me done for the day now, just abouts
"...dressed in blue, see the sky in front of you..."
Though her face isn't much like a pale speck of a sail. Must be somebody else.

It's all about the knives:

A shame she had top bring Oddjob with her! 🤣
