Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Sumptuous stag on that 2-blader, Dwight!:cool::cool:

Beni is out, Diego is in.

Diego is en fuego, Jeff!:thumbsup::cool:
I was once discussing with my daughter, who lived in Spain for several years, the English equivalents of various Spanish names. A surprise to me was that Diego can be "translated" as James (or Jacob).

Brian looks great with that stick!:thumbsup::cool:

Here’s the basic recipe and history
Thanks for the interesting link, Jack!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Minor flesh wound ! 😉
That's what Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund said! 🤓

A building character session, combined with a photo shoot, what a multi-tasker you are Gary! Very nice lamb.😍
Thanks, Bob. :)
The result was quite typical of my attempts at multitasking. :rolleyes:o_O

Speaking of anniversaries, Julie and I started dating 25 years ago today, so that’s something I suppose. 😁

Switched out one Albers Lamb for another today, felt like I’ve been neglecting my Afzelia Burl lately. This is an old pic, but I’ll try to grab a new one later.

Figured I’d have a couple drinks tonight to celebrate the Razorbacks upset win over No. 4 ranked Tennessee.
Outstanding burl on your Albers, Barrett!:cool::thumbsup:
Congrats on your dating anniversary, and I think I heard on ESPN that Arkansas upset a highly-ranked Tennessee football team back in 1999, too. Is that a shared memory for you and Julie??

...
Interesting thought Gary :D I thought that L'Ariete, Aries - The Ram - sounded authoritative in Italian! :D
...
Ouch! I remember that Gary  Still, it probably fared better than bone would have  Did you buff it out?
...
Good morning Guardians, I must confess I'm a bit distracted this morning, as I'm having to work, and short of time. I hope everyone is having a good weekend, and I'll look forward to catching up with you later

L'Ariete certainly looks authoritative with his bold triple bolster grooves, Jack!:cool::thumbsup:
You're probably right that a bone handled knife would have suffered more damage in a similar fall. I never tried buffing out the abrasions; I left them as a reminder to be more careful.

Good morning Guardians. Been away in Germany for the last three weeks but back home now and playing a little catch-up with...well, with everything. Funny thing that happened in Baiersbronn. Our room at the hotel was incredible. Including a little paring knife for the complimentary fresh fruit. Looks like a LF blade to me - opinions?View attachment 2678545
If not, it is a fair cousin to the lamb.
Welcome back, Bill! :thumbsup::cool::cool:
Interesting paring knife in your hotel; was the blade stainless?
It looks very similar to an inexpensive carbon steel Otter paring knife I ordered once upon a time:

I also thought that mine was a lambsfoot blade, but after careful analysis, I decided it was almost a lambsfoot. It has the distinctive lambsfoot distal taper, but the edge is NOT quite straight - it bends up slightly at the tip. I hope the next photo illustrates what I mean. The knife is lying flat on a counter, with the edge aligned with the edge of a cutting board. As Bob says, "it is a fair cousin".

These days are going too fast!

I hope our southern gentlemen are getting help to have life return to normal.🙏View attachment 2678761
That's an edgy one, Bob!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks Gary, it has become a favorite. 🙂

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Reminds me of a Dave Barry (a Pulitzer prize-winning humorist that was once on the staff of The Miami Herald - a third-rate rag that long ago left any semblance of truth, reason, or beauty behind) piece entitled "Air Bags for Wind Bags" in which he opined that anyone in a career prone to grandstanding should be fit with a personal air bag that would self-inflate at the right moment - pushing them, with furious speed, away from any podiums and thus preventing them from making fools of themselves and annoying their constituency any further. 🤣
Dave Barry was quite entertaining!:thumbsup::cool: I think I read at least one crazy novel he wrote, too.

Afternoon Guardians! Hope everyone is having a restful Sunday. Back to the HHB

Always a good decision toreturn to rosewood HHB, David!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks, Leon! 🙏

I don't freak out. Some folks do - buying up toilet paper, drinking water, plywood, corrugated metal sheets. I don't participate in that.

The worst hurricane I've experienced was Andrew, in 1992, and its gonna take quite a bit to outdo that one.

Just look at the sheer size of it - and the perfectly formed (and perfectly dreadful) circular eye (which we later found out was creating thousands of tornadoes at its wall)!

As long as it ain't like that, we're fine!
Thanks for the stunning images of Andrew!😲

Monday morning, just about to have a shower then breakfast. Beef rissoles..

Eye-grabbing handle on that one, Leon!:cool::thumbsup:

...
On a happier note, maybe...
Go Tigers!
It was an entertaining 2-month run, Mike!:cool::thumbsup:
I thought Detroit was looking good for Game 5 with Skubal pitching, but nobody's perfect. Sad ending, but memorable times!

Your Italian Ram looks quite tranquil in that sylvan setting, Jack!🤓
Thanks Gary :)
Always a pleasure to see your stag HHB out and about, Jack!:thumbsup::cool:
Thanks again buddy :)

Good morning Guardians !

The weather has turned cold here, 35° this morning but a nice autumn day.

That's some sweet horn Steve, great pics

The lambsfoot I'm carrying this week is the first lambsfoot I ever owned, a stag senator I won in a GAW from a BF member who lives in Manchester, England (thanks, Richard). Here it is when it first arrived, just over 9 years ago IIRC.
