Finally found one!!! Lamb Spey. Thank you for the assist
SteveC . I’ve been on the search ever since I was made aware of this tweet ultimate combo of awesomeness. I will only show the Spey blade here this one time as to keep in good keeping with this thread. I must break the rule this one time though
.
This knife has really good fit and finish and I think it may have some age on it. 60s-70s maybe. Blades are nice and full and who doesn’t love a double TEW blade stamp!!!! Any help on the age would be greatly appreciated.
Hope everyone is doing well. I know I have been rotten about participation. Please excuse my sins.

I was surprised to find a ripe fig yesterday, December 9, when fig trees are going dormant. It's tough growing figs here in my part of San Francisco. The weather doesn't get warm enough to ripen them. Those that manage to ripen do so late. This one was legitimately ripe -- had some flavor. I usually have the Glenn recovered lamb in my pocket.

I just posted this year's Traditional Knife of the Year thread. Picking from the top 3 was a hard job, but MY Traditional Knife of the Year 2024 is....![]()

There are some areas in SF where figs do okay (not here in the Richmond District), but you are right about the disappointing summer conditions. I'm glad to hear your trees are doing well. That was my complaint when I lived in SF (Excelsior district). All summer long temps were in the 60s, windy with overcast. I now live in Visalia, all summer long temps usually over 100 and sunny, and my fig tree produces plenty of ripe flavorful fruit.
That Jigged Bone is downright Beautiful, down to the "for extra grip serrations" by the liners for wet hands! Love it - hand hammered Pins Rats tail- the works!

Good Choice Jeff, That's one beautiful Knife right there!Hello Guardians! I've been "slumming" for a while with other knives, but as you can see from the KOTY thread, I'm all about the lambs. Gonna start carrying Berry tomorrow, and through the Christmas holiday.

Fibre is softer, feels somewhere between hard rubber and leather. It was used a lot for Army clasp knivesI think you are right!!! It’s got a different feel than previous bex knives I have handled. It’s not the same material.
Looking good Steve

It's nice to be appreciated MitchEvening all
I felt like a coffee or 2 this afternoon.
Well, when we got there I went for a pit stop and meet Kristy there.
Well I walk in the cafe, there's Kristy behind the counter making coffee. Tim the owner was on his own and had a big table of old dears come in that wanted coffee and deserts so Kristy did the coffees while Tim did the food
Needless to say I had to wait awhile
Tim wouldn't let us pay brought out strawberries for Kristy
Oh and gave us a couple of blocks of Belgium chocolate

As kind as a text will allow, I will say these knives do not belong on this thread. Though, they are close to a lambsfoot, sadly, they are not.I am living in Spain these days and they have a history of knives (navajas) going back centuries
I don't know if this has been mentioned before but there is a well-known Spanish friction folder with a lambfoot-esque blade - the "Taramundi which comes from the north of Spain in Galicia. You can pick these up hand made for just 18 euros in Spain with a carbon steel blade. They are also available in stainless and with an option of a liner lock if required

Also the "Taponera" below with a sheepsfoot style blade attributes the blunt tip to the old cork workers who just needed to slice cork without a need for piercing and causing injuries.

There is also the "Marinera" which has been around since the old naval days and is very familiar slipjoint design
