Morning. And it is indeed Thursday. Being retired I sometimes have to think about it. Today I have this fine knife by Ashwin Earl. My back is doing better. Here I am walking in my wig to check my mailbox.

We got our first significant snowfall overnight, about six inches.

Last night's pizza lamb is still in the pocket! I put a fresh edge on her before taking her out last night, and took the opportunity to lower the bevel angle (nothing scientific - I just freehand, so I positioned the spine a bit lower on my thumb than usual), and she's just absurdly sharp at the moment - how could I not carry her again?!

For me, learning to sharpen (well) has been a near lifelong endeavor at which I've only recently become pleased with the results I achieve. Knowing that I can take a neglected edge and bring it back to razor sharpness is about more than just having a functional tool - for me, it's personally empowering in a tangible and verifiable way! Keep 'em sharp, ladies and gents!

I hope everyone is having a good day Today was the last Thursday market until the New Year, but 3 hours into my time there, my lollygagging was interrupted by work, which descended on me like a flock of famished locusts. I am still at it now, and might be for half the night! And I've just realised I have a 9am dental appointment I sure need a break!

Back to the market, Tool Man was on good form, and I saw Early Morning Mel, Boring Ray, Scooby, Gravel, Golden Gordon, Nobber Al, The Brigade, The Odd Couple, Charlie Chan, Our Cake Man, Badge Lady, and Maurizio. Maurizio was handing out shots of whisky, and there was plenty of cake and mince pies, so it was a shame to leave the festive atmosphere. I am in no way prepared for Christmas!



I was taking a photo of the rather attractive moon, when Tool Man wandered into my shot, gormlessly clutching a bacon sandwich almost as big as his fat head! Not sure what Boring Ray and Nobber Al are up to!

My son’s dentist specialises in kids, when Flynn had to have a gap filled she didn’t give him a needle in the mouth. What she did was get Flynn to close his eyes and a magic fairy came in to help fix the tooth. But she accidentally dug in the heel from her shoe which stung just a little bit. A great way to make the dentist less terrifying for kids!

Anyway make sure you close your eyes when the fairy comes Jack

A few soil tests to take and then a breakup lunch at work. I made a lemon pie, didn’t think to grab a knife photo with it.

My apologies for not reporting in, all fine just been busy. In the middle of a move and being over the Christmas period is a bit chaotic. Having internet issues does not help.
