Some nice looking lambs you’ve got there, Dan!

This knife has kind of ruined me. Please allow me to explain:

I'm not really a collector - I tend to only want to have things I'm going to use, and I tend to not have duplicates. I have one watch (with a couple of different bands to adapt it to different situations), only a few guitars (each of which has a different purpose for me), and so on. I have never owned more than 20 knives at any given time - any more than that and I'm not using some of them, so those are gifted or traded or (rarely) sold. Usually I've had a lot fewer than 20 on hand.

I've always had the idea of finding The One True Knife for me, but never quite got there. I don't know that I'm there yet, but I'm so close with this GL-24 that I haven't bought any new knives since this arrived. I had a list of knives I was interested in tracking down at some point, including several lambs. I've dropped all but one knife off that list - and that one's not a lamb, because why bother? I don't think I'm ever going to find another lamb that more closely aligns with my preferences than this one.

So I still read BF everyday (I love seeing everybody else's knives) but I don't post much because it's just the same knife everyday. (I do rotate my second knife, when I carry one at all.)

In case you're concerned about me, I am holding up under the burden of having acquired the nearly perfect knife for my needs.

I’m thrilled you like your Albers Guardians Lamb so much, Tyson! 🙂

I've made an effort to get these knives into the hands of all you Guardians!! That might be why we are seeing so many in this thread!!
Thanks all, for buying them and, for posting them!!!!!View attachment 2783550View attachment 2783551
You done good, Charlie. We appreciate you thinking of us. Your knives are the most sought after for good reason.

☝️ What Paul said. 😁 Seriously, the flat-cap lambs are great, Charlie. Well done!

Plain or cheese and bacon?

Who could choose plain over cheese and bacon?! 😉😁

Duncan for some reason I misplace things on top of the refrigerator. I really hope you find your AC, don’t give up hope!

Sometimes I’ll set my phone down on top of the basement beer fridge door while getting something out, and then close the door with it there. It fits perfectly in the gap between the top of the fridge door and the bottom of the freezer door, and it definitely took me a while to find it the first couple times I did that. 😁

That is one of many places I misplace things too Pete! :D I've recently been trying to find a particular pair of gloves, without success. I figured I'd just buy a new pair, which arrived yesterday. About an hour later, I was going out, and put on a fleece jacket, which I'd forgotten had a rear pocket....You know the rest! 😖

Buying a replacement is definitely the best way to find something that has gone missing.

Jack a pro tip for you. I would up the alcohol content of your beer. Less peeing and less filling. My favorite was The Therapist. 10.4%. I always referred to it as The Rapist. One day out driving with my friend we saw on the car in front of us a vanity license plate that read THERAPIST. I naturally with out thinking at all ( pro lollygagger ) said, “look…a rapist”. I have stopped drinking just to raise my IQ a bit.

😁🤣

Happy Super Bowl Sunday everyone. Monday after should be a federal holiday 🤷. Got some snow yesterday and did not get around to plowing until this morning. Thank god for 4 wheelers. Smoked ribs, mashed potatoes, corn, and Mac and cheese for dinner 🤤. Photos to follow later.

Got this fine 🇺🇸 made lamb today.

Your driveway definitely wouldn’t be fun to shovel by hand, Paul!

Good morning Guardians, I just got back from the hospital. There was lots of chopping and changing - venue, surgeon, procedure. I got moved from a surgical ward to a room in the Maxology Dept of the Dental Hospital, where a cheerful young Scouser cut a piece out of me, and stapled on a dressing. Staples come out next week. In the meantime, I can't wear my flat-cap! 😭 Have a good day Guardians 👍

That’s quite a bandage! Hope the test results are all good and your head heals up quickly.

Had a package show up today in all this snow. I'm so happy to be able to add this to my modest flock. It's a beauty Charlie! waynorth waynorth

Nice pic!

I’m feeling a bit like Duncan over here, having temporarily misplaced my Cosimo Lambsfoot. 😳 I know it’s around the house somewhere, just gotta figure out where. It’ll turn up.

About to go deal with the snow that rudely fell on the ground. Homemade chili for dinner later 🤤. GL-24 in the pocket today.

Homemade chilli is going to taste even better after shovelling snow buddy! :D I only used to climb in the winter because I knew the beer afterwards would taste extra good! 😂 Nice pic Paul :)

Yes, but you have to upload them to another platform, such as YT, first  It definitely has a half-stop?

Copy.

Yes it definitely has a half stop. It’s just not well defined at 90 degrees to the handle like I am used to. There is a bit of play up and down where the knife will settle at the “half stop” depending on how I open and close it (if that makes sense).

A close up of the tang in the closed position would be helpful.
Here are a couple shots of the tang. Not sure if they are clear enough.

These 3 photos give an idea of the range of play the knife has when at the “half stop”:

All previous traditionals I have had with a half stop have defined tension that puts the blade at 90 degrees like the second picture. This one however doesn’t have that tension and feels like there are additional points like pictures one and three with that defined point of tension to stop the blade. It will stop at the “half stop” anywhere between pictures one and three, with a feel of detents at the positions pictured in photos one, two and three. Definitely a hard one to describe via text! Lol

Does it have snap opening and closing? Looks like a cam tang and there should not have a half stop on it. I’ve had a few A wrights that had a little give around the half way mark when opening as well.

It sure looks like a cam tang. If it was designed for half stops the tang would be flat and not round.

Sometimes if the tang and spring are fitted poorly, or worn there will be a spot that loses contact with the spring and mimics a half stop. I think that's what the case is here.

I concur. I only play a knife expert online though 🤷

I have a couple A. Wright knives that don't have half stops, but were very stiff and tended to kind of hang up in a few spots throughout the opening motion like that until I flushed them really well.

I can add little on top of what has already been said but that’s definitely a cam tang. Picture the tang against the spring and how an uneven or poorly done one will hang up in spots. That’s what you’ve experienced in my view.
