Congratulations Will, that's a lovely example, and a superb picYour cap reminds me of my grandfathers', both wore very similar caps, like all the Sheffield men did
Another great pic Will
Interesting tales, as always WillThank you, Jack. I agree, just lovely.
The cap doesn't match, but goes very well with my favorite tweed sport coat. A tweed sport coat in Miami, FL? Well, as much as I'd appreciate Miami adopting hot weather-appropriate attire similar to other sweltering climates, like Borneo or Syria; for now, we're stuck with formal and semi-formal clothes that seem to have been designed for people plagued by frigid drafts. Suits are miserable to wear down here. Blazers make me feel like Captain Stubing from The Love Boat. What's a boy to do?
A few days ago I attended a gathering memorializing the passing of a good friend's mother. Attending the mass, which would have required a suit, was optional - so that was out. As was the burial, for the same reason. But the semi-casual gathering afterward, the one with the croquetas, pastelitos, and cafe con leche on tap (and no suit required...) - that's my bread and butter!! I knew there would be a lot of suits, so I wasn't about to show up in a t-shirt and shorts. Instead, I threw on a pair of chinos, a polo-like shirt but with a thinner, more breathable material, and my tweed sport coat. I had a moment, as I sat in the parking lot watching attendants enter the funeral home, where I felt as though I should've maybe just gone the standard route and dressed up like a sweaty and miserable Johnny Cash, but I hadn't - and there I was. By the end (after I'd had three or four cafe con leches and uncountable pastelitos) the only comment I had received about my get-up was "Wow! You look so smart! Like a college professor I once had!" Good enough for me!I think the person who made the comment was a bit disappointed that my coat didn't have those neat leather patches on the elbows. I'm a little disappointed about that too, truth be told.
Thank you, my friend. I expect the Guardians will become quite accustomed to seeing this absolute beauty!

LOL!I tend to group my clothes into personal uniforms - so if I'm casual, it's the same shirt and jeans (not the exact same, I buy multiple copies of them) each time. On a job a decade or so ago when I was working on site 100% at my client, I wore a black dress shirt, dark grey slacks, and a tie everyday. One day, walking up to my car after work, a homeless lady who lived in that parking lot yelled across the lot at me, "You always look very nice!" When I thanked her, she replied, "You always look like a community college professor!"
Here's a knife:

Great shot David
A fast favorite Mitch. Looks delicious.
Congratulations Will and well said.As a writer, I feel precluded from making statements such as "I don't have the words..." or "I'm speechless" - the whole job is, quite literally, having the words.
That said, I'm grasping at words but most seem inadequate. "Grateful" is up near the top of the stack, as is "ecstatic," "overwhelmed," and with a generous dusting of "humbled." "Spellbound" gets pretty close. "Unworthy?" Fate already answered in the negative.

Look on my Waynorth Lamb, ye mighty, and despair!
I really believed this knife was beyond me. By the time I heard of its existence, I'd already counted myself out and was resigned to admire them from across a digital divide. However, the described scenario wasn't to be, and I couldn't be happier. I'm overjoyed and should probably be in search of some kind of joy antidote but instead, I just keep fiddling with this knife! A Waynorth lambsfoot in my very own hands, in my very own pocketses!
I won't go into the whole story, but it was a doozy. A couple Guardians helped - one in extremis, and they all know who they are. I'm eternally grateful. You guys are hells of guys... hells full of guys... whatever - great bloody group we've got here!
Thank you @waynorth for your perseverance, effort, and vision. Thank youJack Black for being the Osiris of this whole thing. Thank you Jeremy @sbh06 for agreeing to craft a stunning conveyance for a most deserving knife. Thank you Guardians for your daily passion (and pictures!).
You'll be seeing this one a lot. I hope you like the cut of her jib. She already has a name, but I'll keep it to myself for now.
Dumpling soup last night. Everything bar the noodles done from scratch, twas good.View attachment 2791817

I'm hoping to catch up with a bit of knife maintenance later, and some housework

Looks lovely. We don’t do sushi enough in my household. It’s odd because we always enjoy it when we do.
