Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Flash had the important job first thing.

Nice stag !

A cold Presidents Day in Wisconsin. I don’t know what the wind chill is but it feels like -50.

Celebrating my son Eli’s 8th Birthday today. We went to a Mongolian noodle bar and took him shopping. Told him he had $100 to spend on whatever he wanted. Left with a straw hat (supposedly some anime guy wears it), metal bookmark, anime coke, pack of soccer cards, siracha candy, and a lava lamp 😂😂😂😂😂😂. Kids like the most random stuff.

Carrying the Charlie lamb.

Happy birthday to Eli.🎂

Good afternoon, Guardians. We in the U.S. celebrate Presidents Day today. I remember when I was little, we had two holidays, one for Abraham Lincoln (Feb 12 birthdate) and one for George Washington (Feb 22 birthdate). Because the two dates were close together, the holidays got combined into one Presidents Day. Yesterday I got a couple of muffins from my sister, so an opportunity for a photo.

Thanks Will!! The beads are "white-hearts" from fur trade times! They each have a snow white core which brightens the RED!!
Incredible! So the red is some kind of pigment that's been applied? At first glance I thought they must be carved cinnabar, jasper, or another red mineral. Gorgeous and very vibrant!

Good morning Guardians, I didn't think I'd get time to post here this morning, but I got up an hour early. Off to the hospital, and then home to do some work. Hoping I get time for a nap ;) Have a great day Guardians

Also doing some sharpenning of the flock. Here's my sharpening setup. Lansky turnbox , a base I made for holding my diamond stones and a strop I made from an old belt and a 5 gallon paint stir stick from Home Depot.

Stay warm fellas !
I know how you feel. We share pretty much the same weather. Bitterly cold today. Sweet sharpening setup, Steve.
Fine work like that keeps the fingers nimble!! :)

View attachment 2793387Nostalgic carry today!! (found it cleaning off my desk!) Carrying old Blackie mostly, for 5 years, convinced me once and for all, of the wonder of using a Lambfoot!!
Nice photo Charlie. Gotta love a nice piece of turquoise. My wife loves turquoise jewelry and it has put a dent in my wallet more than a few times.
Morning all.
Just checking in.
Got to port macquarie after 6 last night (3 hour travel)
I decided to switch to flash last minute.

View from the balcony, Anglican Church.

Went for a walk along the river. Port is located the mouth of the Hastings River.

Then had dinner at the beachouse pub, looks over the river. Great view to watch the sun go down. Another $1 upgrade to pint. Only a couple with a big feed.

The Church lit up when we got back.
Enjoy that beautiful weather, Mitch. I’m jealous 😁
Good taste in food though.
Happy birthday to Eli.🎂
It was pretty good. Some of the sauces are hot hot hot. Eli had a great day!!

Good morning Guardians, this post has nothing to do with Lambsfoot knives, so please feel free to skip it. My reason for posting it here is simply so I don't have to keep repeating parts of the story, in dribs and drabs. Plenty of folks here got bigger problems, so I'm not asking for sympathy, nor legal/medical opinions, or anger please. I sent out this text (below) to some friends this morning, by way of explanation, and I've had people on the phone ever since, who clearly hadn't read the text  Keeping the pic to a thumbnail, but don't click on it if you're squeamish or have just had breakfast

"The next time you see me, you're probably going to get a shock, so I'm writing this as an explanation, why I haven't been around so much the past couple of weeks, and why I may not be around as much in the next couple of months. At least 15 years ago, I noticed a small discoloured area of skin close to the front of my hairline. Because of it's location, I wasn't sure how long it had been there, or even if it had always been there. I spoke to my GP about it, and he said it was nothing to worry about. Other doctors I've seen have given the same opinion. Recently, I saw a dentist who noticed it, and she referred me to the hospital. When I attended the appointment, the surgeon I spoke to also told me that he wasn't concerned about the area of skin. However, he suggested I might consider a simple operation to have it removed, so that it could be better studied. He told me that the surgery would involve a single incision, and he would bring skin forward to cover the area, leaving a small, neat scar. I would feel some tightness of the scalp for a week or two, but that would be that. I consented. Unfortunately, when I went for the surgery, things went very differently. It was performed by a different surgeon, in a different part of the hospital, and in a very different manner. I was unaware of what was being done to me, but left hospital with a circular dressing stapled to the front of my forehead. I was not very happy about this, nor the fact I couldn't wash my hair, or have it cut until the staples, and the dressing were removed a week later. That was yesterday, and I was absolutely shocked when I saw what had been done to me. There is a deep, gaping, open wound in the front of my forehead, which I have to try and dress myself (2 nurses struggled). I cannot wash or have my hair cut for at least another month, or get the wound wet in any way, and I just have to hope it doesn't get dirty or infected. In a month or so, I can look forward to having a large scab over the area, as the skin, hopefully, begins to heal. Then, there may be more surgery. I have been left both upset and angry by what has been done to me, which I regard as assault. Unfortunately, because of my vulnerable condition, I may not be around so much, or able to attend events, while my head wound heals."

Got a busy day today, unfortunately, but back to normal service shortly, hopefully

Good morning from sunny Dallas, Guardians! Temps are going to drop here steadily throughout the week as well so I’m harvesting vitamin D while I can.View attachment 2793225
Go for it Dave :D Great-looking Lamb there :)
Polar vortex headed this way! Negative temperatures predicted! Gloom! Despair!

In all seriousness I hope everybody stays warm. Its going to be dangerous out there. I've got my kerosene heater fueled up and ready to go. I don't really like using it, especially considering my ongoing respiratory problems, but my current half...um...baked (I was thinking of another term, but got to keep it family friendly ;)) heating system won't keep up in negative temps. I also hope all our fellow Guardians in the Ohio River Valley survived the recent flooding 🙏🤞

Cool pics Mike :D I felt sorry for the skinny girl on the market bread stall yesterday. There was a biting wind, and she was getting the full force of it, as some doughnut had locked the big double doors open. She was standing there, shivering in a duffel coat, next to a broken heater 😖 Those girls really ought to be a bit more assertive
Thanks, Jack. Much appreciated.

In the time before pogs and beanie babies, I recall a period in which macrame was experiencing a surge in interest and youngsters everywhere could be found braiding lengths of multi-colored string into "friendship bracelets," their forearms adorned in irresponsible amounts of them! Stranger things have happened - though you certainly have a point about the tattoo needles! 😂
I remember some little girls on my street giving me and my mate one each. They have kids of their own now :D
The most famous athlete that I know, involved with needlepoint, was Rosie Greer.
He was a defensive tackle in the NFL and even authored a needlepoint book.
That's cool Bob :) I've done a fair bit of sewing :) I once made a load of saps and blackjacks 🤣👍
Fine work like that keeps the fingers nimble!! :)
