Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I carry a Lambsfoot...

Because Jack is a very generous man!!!

I couldn't wait to post that
Jack, thank you so very much. I am so excited to get to know my new Lambsfoot knife. First impressions are wonderful, now I get why everybody is so fond of them. It is a little pocket-sized BEAST of a knife. You can tell these were meant to be used. Thanks again for the very generous gift. I will be sure to post reviews in the coming days as I get to know my new knife better. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Both of my lambsfoot (feet?) get a lot of carry. It’s great to see someone get one and like it so much!!

Edit:
Added a pic of my AC tonight.

Right off the bat, it's the perfect watch pocket size. Best of all... No Half Stops!!! My arthritis thanks you ;)

I sometimes get messages from users concerned about if they're going to struggle to open a Lambsfoot blade due to arthritis. I have some arthritis in my fingers, but am able to pinch the blade open on all my Lambsfoot knives. I find the Wright pulls pleasingly authoritative, but not excessively strong (I have older Lambsfoot knives with stronger pulls). I'm interested to know how everyone else finds them, and also, if they use the nail-nick or pinch them open

I sprung for a Wade English porcelain pie funnel like my Great Aunt Edie's, and it's made in Vietnam. The Vietnamese always welcomed us with open arms, though, so I'm sure it will be fine.

Looking forward to seeing that pie Jer

It already has two flushings on it :D It's smoothing out nicely.

Good to hear :)

John, I have been waiting days for your mail to arrive as well :D I was on pins and needles to see if a Lambsfoot would be to your liking.:thumbsup::D

Yes, I'm no longer the new guy!

Hopefully @Rusty1 will receive his giveaway prize soon, as I posted the two Lambsfoot packages at the same time

Thanks for the kind words gents

Thanks Dwight. I already used it to cut up my steak at dinner :D

A Lambsfoot loves to be used

Jack, thanks for the pic of the old McClory building and the 1922 ad.

@Cambertree I believe this McClory will measure thinner than a modern day lambsfoot. It's thicker at the spine but plunges fast to the edge.

A pleasure Rob, nice edge. Love that joint

...because sometimes my puck gets lonely.

How 'bout you?

Cool puck Vince

I was hoping to get over to see @ADEE today, but have to wait in for a large delivery of padded envelopes, and other packaging materials, which I'll be needing soon. Thought I'd take a pile-side pic for a change

I most definitely have to use the nail-nick, I don't feel there isn't enough blade exposed to pinch it open.

Really Dave, maybe it is just that I have been doing it so long? How do you find it when using the nail-nick? I occasionally use the nail-nick if my hands are wet or cold, and I also find it OK, but I have grown up with knives with stiff pulls. I generally push upwards in the nick, using the end of my nail

It could be that you are so used to it as you say... I find the pull quite, stiff like some of my older GEC's. For me, it would be an accident looking to happen if I pinched the blade open. I really like that the Lambsfoot has a strong backspring, once its open it stays open. I have other brands that the backspring is too weak for hard use.
For me, the Lambsfoot has a pull right on the money, which issues confidence when using.

I'm grateful for your thoughts Dave, I like the stiff pull too (hate weak pulls), but I often wonder if I am an untypical user. The issue hasn't really come up in the thread, with those who actually have a Lambsfoot anyway, so I guess it's all good :)

thank you, I'm sure there will be some that have the where with all that pinching open is no biggie. It most likely boils down to what one is used to.
As a retired butcher, I don't feel I have a weak grip so I reckon its all in the application.;)

I think @Cambertree has said he pinches his Lambsfoot blades open. I don't think it's about finger strength though, I probably started pinching open Lambsfoot blades as a boy because my finger nails weren't strong enough to open the blade using the nail-nick, and also because my technique was poor. I'm hoping I can keep pinching them open for a good few years yet :)

I cut an EO notch in mine because I found it hard to open, much better now.

I only have an AC lambsfoot that counts since the Navy lambsfoots have EO notches and no nicks. I haven’t tried pinching my AC because o thought it would sit to low to do so. I’ll try today.

With the Ashley's Choice the only way I can open it is with the nail nick. Not enough blade for me to pinch.

Jack I find the pulls on the four lambs I have to be perfect. I prefer a strong pull over an anemic one. Well, I guess I'd say I like considerably strong pulls and a fairly hard snap. All of the lambs are very consistent in pull and snap into position with authority. No problem pinching any of them open except the AC which I can't really get hold of with my fingers so I always use the nail nick.
Beautiful lambs this morning!fullsizeoutput_dbd.jpeg
