It's so long since I last used a fountain pen, I'd forgotten about the side-lever! When I was at school, we had a pencil monitor, and later, an ink-well monitor. It was actually the same person, Dave Burgon, who always had his hand up first for a menial task with some responsibility

I hope everyone's day is going well Hope you're not too sore Jack The kids are off school here this week, so Wolfie came over to Charlie's cafe, with his eldest lad Amos, who was 16 last week. I have known Amos all his life, and used to see him all the time, but not so much now, and so his deep voice came as a bit of a surprise! He liked his birthday presents, and I bought him cheesecake, and stuck some cash in his pocket, then Wolfie gave us both a lift into town. Amos went off to meet his mates, and I went to the bank, and the supermarket I'm certainly enjoying the easier pace this week, and should have time to go down to the market tomorrow
