Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Perhaps Food Man, I mean Tool Man, should switch careers, being an expert on all things edible. Though, profit margins may be low.
LOL! :D He certainly puts the 'gas' in gastronome! 🤢
I’m impressed by the Tool Man’s appetite. He never gets full of food. A bottomless stomach. Thanks for the report Jack. And I hope Old Shirley’s son isn’t giving that kind donut giver a hard time.
Yes Kurt, I think most folks eat less as they got older, but Tool Man reckons his appetite (ie greed) is just as large as when he was a young man  I'm sure he'd very gladly be fitted with a nose-bag! 😂

The problem with asking after Shirley's sons is that it can lead to a very long and tedious conversation, but I will need to enquire my friend :) I have offered several times to go round with Tool Man, and sort them out! 🤣
Thanks for the market report. Sounds like a good day 👍🤠
A pleasure my friend, I'm sorry it wasn't more eventful :)
Interesting market report to say the least for today, Jack.

I think this may be my favorite material for a slip. Ghost leather with my Charlie lamb.

That leather has some unique character Jeremy, very interesting  Thanks buddy, I am sorry that I missed Tool Man's awkward customer, and the short shrift he received (Tool Man is actually quite patient, considering the idiots he has to deal with) :D Apparently, it went something like this:

Young scrote: "How much is this Bahco adjustable spanner (wrench) mate?"

Tool Man: "£4."

YS: "That's expensive! Can't you come down in price?"

TM: "Not at £4 mate, it's already very cheap for a decent spanner."

YS: "They're only £3 at Homebase!"

TM: "Well £*&% off to Homebase!"

That's a fascinating piece David

That Rioja looks delicious, Jack, one of my favorite areas for red. Carrying Berry here at home, and Beni is going to work this morning.
Gorgeous burl on that CDB, Bob!

Sweet pair of Lambs !

I hope everyone is having a great day. It's gorgeous weather here, and set to continue over the weekend apparently 🙂

When I got to the market this morning Tool Man, having already consumed a large custard tart, was busy portioning up a large pork pie, known locally as a Stand Pie. Of course, Tool Man got most of the pie, which had been paid for by Gravel. If he gets bled anymore, he's going to need a transfusion! 😲 Tool Man had paid for the brown sauce, which he was slathering thickly on each piece of pie. Gravel commented that the pie was rather spoiled by the cheap brown sauce, but inevitably Tool Man was having none of it

Having swiftly eaten most of the pork pie, Tool Man moved greedily onto some chocolate doughnuts, which Old Shirley had donated.

Slimline Scott and Harry Hotballs turned up, Harry being in an unusually good mood.

Unfortunately, I missed Tool Man sending someone who had been browsing his wares away with a flea in his ear, which sounded quite entertaining 😁

Gravel was dispatched to purchase a selection of bhajis, and returned with a large box of them, along with several pots of Tool Man's favourite yoghurt sauce.Tool Man had the bhajis out of Gravel's hands, and down his gullet, faster than Gravel could put his wallet back away! 🫣

I called in to see Nobber Al and Ex-Para Steve, and then Golden Gordon and Robert The Badge, before heading off to get some shopping.

Here's Gravel and Harry. I had to take the photo 3 times because Tool Man, just off camera, kept waving his arms about! 🙄

Thanks for the report, sounds like Toolman is back in fine form 😂

I went without coffee this morning, because I put a lot of bother into drinking a lot of it, and I'm not sure it really gives me any pep..
Coffeelessness may not have made me any sleepier, but it gave me a headache. I'm feeling better now.
I think that's a standard symptom of caffeine withdrawal Jer, supposed to last several days :(

Glad you found the cure Jer.

I've tried to ween myself of of it... no luck.

I seem to have made that pot extra strong. I feel great!
So who needs caffeine withdrawal?
I guess part of the reason I was thinking of quitting coffee is that I've gone back to the percolator, which works better with a coarser grind, which costs more than drip grind and is not easy to find. I bought a small bag of beans to coarse-grind myself, but it's ridiculous to me how expensive whole beans are. (I realize there are those for whom fresh grinding is a necessity, but I was blessed with a less sensitive palate.)

Good day Guardians !

I've had a busy day getting my painting project back on track after all the rain we've had.

I miss my perculator, but as you say, the caffeine is more important, than creamy smooth texture.

In my late 20s my caffeine consumption was something like this: 2 or 3 quad mochas (each was 4 shots of espresso) in the morning, a pot or two of coffee during the day at work, chased by a pool-sized Mountain Dew with lunch, a couple of cups of black tea in the afternoon, all washed down by a 2-liter bottle of Mountain Dew after work. Oddly enough, I never slept particularly well, but I just thought it was my ninja-like reflexes waking me up whenever I heard any random sound.

Then I gave up caffeine for Lent one year, and the first two weeks were brutal. Raging headache non-stop for the first couple of weeks and my feet and hands swelled up a bit. Then, about two weeks in, I felt great and slept like a baby. After Lent ended I resumed coffee, but now it's very rare for me to drink anything but decaf coffee. Most tea I drink is decaf - there are a few varietals where I just can't get a decaf version, but I tread very lightly with those. Very rarely do I drink soda, and when I do it's a no-caffeine type. And, oddly enough, I continue to sleep much better now than I did a few decades ago.

It might not kill me to cut back, but the cold turkey can go whistle.
I was thinking I could get a smaller percolator, but I can also make six cups instead of eight. The percolator probably won't feel frustrated by smaller batches.
