Thanks Pat, Tool Man comes up with most of the names, a few others I've come up with, and others are pre-existing. I only call Tool Man that to others. His longstanding nickname is 'Sonn', from his surname 'Wilkinson'. I either call him that, or 'Fatty'!Good report Jack.It just occurred to me, and I apologize if I missed it, but with all those creative names for regulars at the market I can't help but wonder what name they have for you.
Here's my generic manhole cover pic for GT5K Qs .

I was surprised to read that it had ever been played in certain parts of the USA, but yes, isn't that crazy, to think that someone might get hit over the head with a small nut!I had never heard of the game. I also think it's telling that one of the reason schoolmasters discouraged the game was out of fear that they would be used as weapons. How sad it is when a society becomes so paranoid that even children's toys are viewed as weapons.
Looks like you're right. My great grandfather's favorite dictionary doesn't have Basil's meaning.A bit after his time I think Jer![]()
I like it.'The Knife Man'!![]()

Thank you! It's funny you ask that GT. I asked my brother if he remembered that day and his recollection was a little different from mine. He remembers eating at a restaurant while we waited for our dad, and the fact that there were no hotels available because of the festival. I just remember waiting on a bench, wondering how my dad was going to make it back.
Good report Jack.It just occurred to me, and I apologize if I missed it, but with all those creative names for regulars at the market I can't help but wonder what name they have for you.

Cute new addition! She looks sweet.Hi Guardians,
I've been awful at checking in lately. The phone weighs a thousand pounds, the camera twice that, and the lid of the laptop thrice again.
Miami is soggy and hot.
I've been writing stories more than photographing knives. "Sometimes it be's that way," as the old song says.
I got a new pup - that makes three! Meet Jubjub. She's a Cairn Terrier, like Toto from The Wizard of Oz. Cute as a button, no?

As it's an unfortunate faux pas to show up after an extended absence with no lamb pics, here you are:

And some pile side - why not?

Hope you're all doing well!

Heymitch13 , I spotted these in a supermarket today!
Though they could be from last year!

Thanks for the explanation Jack. Thanks Pat, Tool Man comes up with most of the names, a few others I've come up with, and others are pre-existing. I only call Tool Man that to others. His longstanding nickname is 'Sonn', from his surname 'Wilkinson'. I either call him that, or 'Fatty'!He usually calls me 'Barn', an old nickname I had at school, Jack, or 'Jack Black'! When I first started going to the market, people used to refer to me as 'The Knife Man'!
The other regulars just call me Jack, 'Jack Black', or sometimes 'Big Jack Black'. Boring Ray also sometimes calls me 'Barn', as does Nobber Al, but they have got that from Tool Man. Unfortunately, most of the regulars don't have the imagination to come up with nicknames for people!
Good shot!![]()

That’s okay it's already Friday here, just about 2pm.I usually don't post my Lambsfoot of the Week in the Totin' Today thread until Friday, but if I'm trying to maintain a presence in the Guardians thread, I ought to reveal it earlier. This week it won't be much earlier, since it's almost Friday already, but I'll try to do better in coming weeks.
My Lambsfoot of the Week that I've been carrying since last Sunday is a Rosecraft Briarpatch Jack with Smoky Gray Bone covers and a lambsfoot blade on one end. I call the knife Smoked Lamb - makes your mouth water, doesn't it?

By the way, I went to the hospital but I didn't have my eardrum perforated and steroids shot behind it. Since my hearing popped back by itself to about where it had been a week ago, there's no point. That's all the steroid shot will do for you; it won't heal your autoimmune disease forever.
Anyway, with my Zen Yoga Christian Science Tai Chi chops, I should be able to heal my autoimmune disease forever with Jedi mind tricks. Note to self.
With all these medical appointments, I thought I'd go ahead and get next year's calendars. My shirt-pocket sized At-A-Glance is $35, so I'm getting something similar from Mojoostry for $6.50.
And back to lighthouses for the kitchen door calendar.
Happy Double Lambsfoot Day Tyson, I haven't had one of those in a while
