Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

XszsOf2.jpg

And this morning I hear my Westminster-chiming mantle clock without my hearing aids better than I did yesterday with my jacked-up hearing aids in place.
I'm going to find Pat Benatar's Crazy and see how that sounds.
[Loud and fairly clear.]
Glad you can once more enjoy Pat Benatar Jer :D There was a case here, in the 1980's, where an old man, who had been deaf in one ear most of his life, had a bus-ticket removed from the ear. The date of the ticket placed it in the man's school days, when he vaguely remembered putting it in there! 😵‍💫 Looking online to try and find a link to the story, I actually found several similar cases! 😖:D
It's white Wednesday.

Stunning Bob  Enjoy your oranges buddy :)

Many of you may remember that I was on the business end of double-barreled generosity back on Labor Day. That's the day Bob Rufus1949 Rufus1949 announced the winner of his latest extremely generous estimation game, and the winning estimate was provided by @Tyson A Wright, who very generously decided that he was entering on my behalf. A big thank you to both of those gentlemen for their magnanimity!:cool::thumbsup:

Today I picked up the package that Bob mailed containing the superb Cosimo De Benedetto white bone shadow lambsfoot. 😲
I took a few photos after supper tonight, and thought I'd show it off before I head to bed. I think I took enough photos that I can inflict them on the Guardians for the rest of the week! 🤓
The knife has an interesting shield (I'd call it a "bomb shield" but that may be wrong) and an oversized pivot. The smooth white bone, especially on the pile side, has a fascinating mottled appearance, kind of two-tone bone.

The lambsfoot blade is about 2.9" long and has the somewhat unusual (at least among the lambs I have) "rounded nose". The blade also has an outstanding stovepipe kick! The handle is about 3.9".

Thanks again, Bob and Tyson, for a fantastic knife I'd never dreamed of having!

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is OK. I managed to get the tax tedium over! :D I am currently waiting in for a delivery, but hoping to get out this afternoon, if no work lands on my desk ;) Have a good day Guardians :)

That's kept it's colour well :)
great picture buddy !
Thanks pal 🙂

I'm just stringing some conkers for the little lad down the road. Hope he's allowed to have them. I asked his mum how he was the other week, and she said, "They're at their dads." I apologised, and said I hadn’t realised she had more than one child. She said, "I haven't!" 🤷‍♂️

Thanks Bob !

That brings back some memories 👍

I was thinking, it must be 55 years since I last strung a conker, but actually I'm not even sure if I've done it before, from start to finish. When I was a kid, so many kids collected conkers, they were like gold dust, we'd travel miles to get them, and have to share them out. My dad took mine to work, and drilled them for me there. Now, I can pick up as many as I want, just on my street, because almost nobody is interested in them

Today I got to meet up with fellow Guardians Neal @herder and Dan danno50 danno50 for lunch. We had a great time talking knives and such. I brought my Cosimo Lunar Lamb along with me.

It was a great visit, Barrett, and i got to fondle your Cosimo lunar lamb!

That is a beauty, Gary! Congratulations

Visiting my son and his family in Wisconsin. Grandkids are in school all day, and my son and his wife are gone to work by the time i get up. So i go for a couple hour walk every day. Took a rest in a small park/playground.

I never thought of stringing them. When I was growing up we had a horse chestnut tree in our yard and we had a plentiful supply. We preferred to throw them at each other while they were still in the spiked husk.
