Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

No name David? It's a nice one :cool: :thumbsup:
Thanks buddy. I can't read the tang stamp it's to faded. It sure had some nice stag covers.
I hope everyone is having a great day :) Lovely weather here today, and I was down the market early, and spent about 4 hours hanging out with Tool Man, Boring Ray, Harry Hotballs, and Slimline Scott. Tool Man had his usual appetite, and I even joined him in having a steak slice 😋 I was just heading home when Wolfie called, and I met him for lunch at the Tunisian stall in the market. We parted, and I was just about to leave town again, when I got a call from an old girlfriend, saying she was in town, and we ended up sitting out in the sunshine, and drinking a couple of bottles of wine :D :thumbsup:

Nice Lamb 🐑 Sounds like a pleasant day at the market 👍

Thank you, Patrick, that is a beautiful patina on your Waynorth lamb. I'm relaxing after work with Roper in pocket.

I bet they do Barrett :) Maybe they ARE in use here for that purpose, I'll have to do some research ;) :thumbsup:

I will say, I don’t think those cinematic landscape shots from Detectorists would have been quite the same with one of those in the frame. 😉

Thanks mate! :D I was buying a birthday card the other day, and noticed the Christmas cards are in the shops :rolleyes: I sent Charlie waynorth waynorth his a while back! :D ;) :thumbsup:

This morning, while the girls were getting ready for school, I heard Eleanor singing “Feliz Navidad” to herself. 🤣

Well done Barrett, looks like beautiful weather you're having :) :thumbsup:

Thanks, the weather has been nice, sunny with temps in the 70s, and it looks to stay that way into next week (which is good, because I have a couple outdoor projects around the house that will be best to get done in this sort of weather).

Well hello there. Fortunately I think I am through the worst of the work stuff. Been thinking about you all and am happy to say….. I’m back!!! More than I can say about the Dallas Cowboys😂. It’s gonna be a long season.

About to get off of work and thought I would check in. Been carrying this beautiful lamb for the past few days.

Who let this guy in? 🤨😉🤣

Good to see you back here, Paul. :thumbsup:

Thank you Barrett. It's easily one of my favorite knives overall, bonus is it being extremely photogenic!

Glad to hear it. :thumbsup:

Happy Thursday Guardians
Beautiful, sunny day here after some much needed rain 🌞

Looking good, Mike. :thumbsup:

Sounds like a good day Jack hanging with Teddys at the Market followed up with a bit a wine with a friend…that is prime lollygagging right there.

Thanks David :) Yes, it was a good one, and while Nobber Al was away again, and Golden Gordon too, the Perfume Fatties were back for the first time in a month or so :) :thumbsup:

L'Ariete is developing some nice character, Jack.👍🏻
It sounds like a relaxing day, and I hope the weather cooperates tomorrow.

Hope you have a good day buddy 👍 Regal 🐑👍🤠

Got in another four mile walk on the trail today. It was warm and sunny out. I think today’s high was 88°, and while it hadn’t quite made there while I was walking, it was definitely warm enough.

...
Although my walk wasn’t any longer than the others I’ve done so far on the trail, by the time I got back to my truck today, I was glad to be done. Unfortunately, I completely forgot to snap any knife pics, so an old pic of today’s Lambsfoot — this Rodgers, which was a gift from SteveC SteveC — will have to suffice.

Thanks for another trail report, Barrett. :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
Do you usually carry water with you on your hikes? I do a lot of walking, but I usually don't carry a water bottle unless the temperature is at least mid-80s.
Handsome 2-blade lambsfoot! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Happy hump day, Guardians! Same Titusville lamb as last week for Wood Wednesday! unclekurty unclekurty you have excellent taste, good sir. View attachment 2978441
Fascinating burl on your Barlow, Dave! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

That Union Jack keeps getting better with age.

Long, lean, and splendid, Steve! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

I hope everyone is having a good day. The weather has been ok today, with only a little rain so far, but it was decidedly quiet at the market. The Teds are off to some old Rockers event at the weekend, and Gravel has gone early. Golden Gordon was missing, and there was no sign of Harry Hotballs. I did briefly see Captain Birdseye, but he was not looking too well. Nobber Al called over briefly, but apart from that, our only visitor was Slimline Scott, who called in briefly during his lunch-hour. We did have a professional visitor though, in the form of a reporter, who was collecting comments for a story about the City Council's latest plans to screw over the market traders 🙄 Tool Man didn't take much brass in the 3 or 4 hours I was there, but his state pension kicks in this month, so he didn't seem too perturbed. Boring Ray was so quiet, he asked if I wanted to use anything on his stall as a backdrop for a knife photo or two. I was quite interested in a 'one-arm bandit' he had, though rather shocked by the £450 price tag. Tool Man remarked, "That's why it's still there!" 😆

Thanks for the market report and the unusual photo, Jack! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Nice grain Gary 👍
Thanks, Jack. :)

... I'll be carrying the splendid Joseph Rodgers Shadow :thumbsup:

Salutary shadow, Jack! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

It wasn’t quite as sunny or warm for my walk today, which was fine by me. The weather was nice, upper 70s and mostly cloudy.

The part of the trail I walked today passed through the small town of St. Bonifacius, MN, which is home to this comically small public library that’s not far off the trail.

Cool little library, Barrett; do you know if it's affiliated with a county or state library network or "cooperative"? A library really doesn't need much physical space these days if they "share" holdings with a bunch of other locations.
I gotta get me one of those "Not a Lambsfoot" signs! 🤓

Good morning, Guardians and happy Friday. Jack, I think you should capture the best of Tool Man’s selling philosophies in a book. Sure to be a slow seller! 🤣 View attachment 2979987
Striking stripes, Dave! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Mike, as a Detroit fan who's crestfallen by the Tigers' collapse and the Cleveland winning streak, I'm very uncomfortable hanging out in a Guardians thread. :eek:o_O

... I hope everyone is having a great weekend :) I'm jumping on the bandwaggon! :D :thumbsup:

Jack, it looks like your GL-24 is taking on a gigantic COVID virus! :eek:;)

Mid-eighties and breezy with on and off cloud cover. I haven't accomplished anything today. Might try and do it again tomorrow :p
Always good to try to take advantage of momentum, Mike! 🤓
Grand grain on that handle! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Vivid view of your vintage lamb, Steve! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend :) The weather is better here today, but I'm not planning on going out unless I have to ;) Enjoy your Sunday Guardians :) :thumbsup:

Hello friends! Happy trails 🤠

Archaic and appealing, David! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

My wife had her first experience with fire ants. She was bitten once or twice and we ended up at a walkin clinic. There was pain and swelling. She said it felt like a monster bee sting. I 've been hit once but no reaction other that a localized pain.
Enjoy the start of Fall everyone.

Bob, it sounds like you've moved to a jungle full of unfamiliar beasts (frogs, fire ants, ...)! 😲 Glad your wife came out OK.
Distinguished diamond-shield lamb! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Nice :cool: Texas Monthly looks like a great read :thumbsup: There's a Yorkshire magazine called 'The Dalesman', but it both looks, and reads, like it was published 50 years ago,or more :D :thumbsup:
I think the Dalesman might be a magazine I'd enjoy. 50 years ago I was a manly man in the prime of my manhood, and I look back fondly on those times! 🤓

September 18-22 they doubled our Lowe's employee discount to 20%. I've bought a fireproof box so I can close my safe deposit box, a bathtub spigot with an unbroken shower-diverter, a wire brush, a fire alarm, and a poncho.
5 items at 20% discount for each: you saved 100% overall, Jer! I'd call that a bargain! :cool:🤓:cool:
I've gone through a lot of those shower-diverter "switches" in the 40 years we've spent in this house.

Great weather for a walk today, overcast and cool when I started out, then the sun came out a bit later. I walked 6 miles on the trail, covering miles 14 through 17. Curiously, the mile 15 marker was missing. I’m almost certain there was one before — when Eleanor and I did the whole trail several years ago, I marked the location of each mile marker on Google maps — but when I got to the place it should have been, it wasn’t there.

Breathtaking burl on your Albers lamb, Barrett! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
6 miles at a time is pretty impressive to me, Barrett! 😲
My goal is to average just over 7 miles per day, but most of my walks are 3-4 miles at a time. On weekends, I'll often do a longer walk, but anything over 6 miles, I start dragging toward the end.

Well, my wife got some of her test results back last night, and the news is not good. Several things going on in the same area, with cellulitis, hernias, blocked urethra and some other stuff we don't even understand. Went this morning to have some more blood drawn and five new meds to pick up. Prayers appreciated! I carried Beni throughout.

Sorry to hear the less-than-ideal medical report for your wife, Jeff. At least you now know what you're dealing with, and the doctors can determine what has to be done to get her healthy again.

...
And a recycled picture because I don't like to make a post without including a pic.

I could resist those cheap mince-pies forever! 😁👍

Ravishing Ram, Jack! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Well my wife finally got her car repaired after the son in law backed into it.😂 So I will be giving it a ceramic coating today.
Stay away from those germs today everyone.View attachment 2983754
Do you do the ceramic coating yourself, Bob? Once the car has a ceramic coating, can you hone a knife on it?? 🤓
Waynorth Flat Cap on the rocks really hits the spot! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

You got a nice one there Gary, Happy Double Lambsfoot Day! :) :thumbsup:

Very nice pair of 🐑 :thumbsup:
Thanks for the kind words, Jack & Steve. :)
