I almost always bring water with me. I have a couple SIGG water bottles that are good for carrying on a walk β theyβre aluminum and uninsulated, so very lightweight. But if itβs warm out, Iβll bring a heavier, insulated water bottle with me so I can have cold water. If I happen to find a place to park thatβs in the middle of the section of trail Iβm walking, I might leave my water in the truck and stop halfway for a drink. Otherwise, I just carry it with me.
Youβve got it exactly right, GT. Itβs part of the Hennepin County Library system, which we use a lot and find to be really great. I think there are 40+ libraries, and you can get any book from any of them and have it available at the library closest to you within a couple days. Weβve been to several of the libraries near us, as well as the big main library in Minneapolis.
Thatβs probably my favorite wood on any knife I have. It was also my first Albers Lambsfoot.
I definitely prefer 4 miles to 6.

The problem now is that I have an uneven number of miles left (11 miles of trail, 22 miles of walking), so I really need to do another 6-mile day to even things out. Otherwise Iβll have to make an additional trip out to do just a single mile of trail, and Iβd rather not (particularly because, the further I get out on the trail, the longer of a drive it is for me to get there).
No trail walk today, though. Instead, I spent part of my morning setting up a new pressure washer so I can get a few projects done outside while the weatherβs still nice. (Although it is βnew,β I actually bought the pressure washer a couple years ago on an end of season sale. Just hadnβt gotten around to using it yet.)
