Speaking of cannabis, that recurring skunk smell we get at the store has been identified for me as marijuana smoke. That isn't what it smelled like fifty years ago.

Cool pic Steve :) It's a shame about the pile side bone, but your Butler is still a spectacular knife

Thanks buddy ! At least it matches the mark side 👍

Rosebeast is looking good !

Hope you had a great evening Jeff :)
Thanks to all for the well-wishes on our dinner date. We met our snow-bird friends who live just 3 houses away from us when they are here, and they just got back from Michigan. We went to a new-to-us seafood joint which was very good, and collected all the news from each other after being 4 months apart. A very nice evening. I have Roper with me as I type this.

Love those Blue Ropers!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Wow!!
Look who turned up on my doorstep yesterday!

After the Oregon show Neal, Chris, Barrett and myself were going through the TSA Security- and yep good ol Duncan had the last check in his pockets before he walks through the xray and bingo! Here’s is my Barrett in my pocket- I tell you I was so organised ( with Neal’s help ) and sent off my knives via post- and some were in my suitcase - but this one passed by me.
TSA were really good - they escorted me to a courier post machine, Neal’s son. Chris came with me as he had his home address - and it was sent off and not confiscated - I was so SO happy 😃

Neal was so kind to send me my knife back - welcome home!!!!

Glad you didn't lose that one to TSA!

Earlier this year my daughter-in-law forgot about her knife in her purse and lost it to TSA. Not an inexpensive one, I think she paid about $170 for it. When she got here I told her that in the future she should always have a prepaid padded envelope with her so if she forgets a knife she can drop it in the mail.

Is everybody else getting the enlarged heading with statistics? I wonder if it's deliberate.

Sorry about the neck, Jack. I know a guy who swears by cannabis gummies. I haven't looked into that yet.

Does he have a bad neck Jer?! :D I'm not sure they're legal here (I have to say, I don't know) 🤷‍♂️ 😁👍

You can barely walk a hundred yards in the city centre without smelling it Jer! No wonder I can't smell coffee roasting, or hops mashing anymore! ;) Rose Beast is looking good :)
That's a very elegant Lamb my friend :)

Yeah, George Butler definitely employed superior cutlers Steve
Evening all
Home made lasagne for dinner
That looks delicious Mitch :) I haven't had homemade lasagne since I split up with my Ex! Not that I miss it, what little cooking she did was absolutely terrible! Me and her daughter, Eve, often laugh about her lasagne, which we would try to bin when her mother's back was turned! :D Nice photo :)

Glad you had a great evening Jeff, it sounds lovely :)
Hectic morning at work so far 🤦🏻. Hope it settles down cause 12 hours of this might send me to the looney bin. Carrying this fine IXL today.

I dread to think what they have you doing Paul! That is a wonderful piece of vintage cutlery my friend :)
Good luck with the neck Jack. I got whiplashed a few years ago. It ultimately took shots of cortisone in my neck to bring relief. Hope yours hasn't gone that far 🤞
Thanks Mike :) Sorry to hear that buddy, I doubt mine is anywhere near as bad, but it is dragging on a bit
Happy Friday Guardians !

Looking good brother :)

😂😂. He is a tough negotiator. Tough as in he never trades or sells a good knife. I think the friend card I pulled out swayed him just enough. I’m sure he has nightly nightmares about it.
I hope there were no fake tears or violins involved! :D
Rainy morning window-sill shot at work 😁

That's rotten luck :( Here, they confiscate so many knives, they sell them at auction - by weight! :(

There are TSA sales here, too. But I bet the nicer ones, like what my daughter-in-law lost, end up in the personal collection of the TSA agent who confiscates them.

Hope your neck is feeling better. You need to be at full strength when you visit tool man.

I hope everyone is having a good Friday :( I've had one heck of a frustrating one! When I got to the surgery to give blood, I pointed out that the purpose of taking blood was to assess how I am managing with some new BP medication, prescribed to me more than a fortnight ago. However, due to incompetence at the practice, I only got the medication a few days ago, so I made an appointment for a week today, which even then is a little early 😖 After returning home, I wanted to set up a new mobile phone, but the wifi was down (there must be Bedouin tribesmen who get a better signal). I've been carrying a package round with me all week, which I can only take to one post office, because the other post offices, have staff who read English, but are also too stupid to know their own rules about what can and can't be sent in the post! 😣 The post office is about a mile up the road from me, out of town, but since there's NEVER any signal there, I thought I'd go to Charlie's first, and set my phone up. I ordered some avocado on toast, which was terrible, and it turned out there was no signal there either, and with Hisham away at the Cash & Carry, no interest in fixing it 😠 I needed to buy bread in town anyway, so I headed to the market, but the wi-fi was down in there too, and it was the same in the coffee shop I went to. I gave up on the phone, and caught a bus to the post office, but by the time I got there, it had started raining ☹️ In the post office, I discovered that the USA are charging customs charges on inbound packages, to be paid for by the sender 😡 It was raining even more heavily when I came out of the post office, so I thought I'd duck into a supermarket to pick up a few things. Twenty minutes later, it was raining even worse though, so I slid into my local pub for a pint. There was no sign of the rain stopping, so I decided to have something to eat, choosing 'bangers and mash', which turned out to be pretty awful. After another pint, the rain had only got worse, and I learned that there was actually a named storm. I tried ringing for a cab, but there was a 45 minute wait, so I went back to the bus stop, getting soaked on the way. With the disruption, there was a 20 minute wait for the next bus, and while I had started to dry out by the time it came, the half mile walk from the bus-stop to my house, soaked me through! 😫 The pain in my neck has added to the sense of frustration, but at least the wi-fi seems better - I saw the poor engineer crouched in the driving rain, trying to fix it, on the way up the street  I think I have some sofa time coming! Have a good evening Guardians

Yeah, whenever I see the results of the confiscation they are 99% SAKs and SAK copies

Thanks my friend :D

Jack, I think you need a trip to a tropical island for some sunshine and adult beverages.
May the weekend bring some relief.

That was an incredibly frustrating day, Jack. However, you were carrying a beautiful knife!
