Where I lived most of my life, the old estates are receiving similar treatment. Many are knocked down and a dozen new homes are erected on the old estate.

That's very sad Bob What we see a lot of here, where the 'big house' can't be demolished, is that it's turned into apartments, and surrounded by a dozen more new-builds

My Lambsfoot of the Week (a week that is almost over already) is Lam Jack, my 2017 horn Guardians lambsfoot (thanks, Jack).

I have a photo of Lam Jack in a Halloween scene on a lawn about 3/4 mile from my house, but the photo includes a skeleton wielding a butcher knife whose blade is not a lambsfoot. If you want to see it (as a Halloween treat), I posted it in the "Totin' Today" thread a few minutes ago.

The perfect Halloween carry, Bob!

Hope all you Guardians had a good Halloween. As Steve mentioned, it was a bit wet here in Minnesota, but that didn't keep the kids from going out on the hunt for candy. I posted some pics of them in their costumes over in the Totin' thread, so I'll refrain from doubling up here, but you can see 'em in this post here. Jack Black I hope you can forgive Scout for opting to go as the other Jack Black.

After we got back, watched a movie, ate some pizza and got the girls to bed, I figured it was time for a beer. I haven't been drinking as much lately, and haven't kept much beer in the fridge, but there's always something kicking around in there. I think I bought these a year or two ago, but it still tasted good (and how could you pass up buying a beer named after Vincent Vega?). I had my Cosimo Lunar Lamb with me today.

I was telling Matt last night that Eleanor and Scout's imaginative Halloween costume choices are something I look forward to seeing all year I hope Scout is going to dress as the REAL Jack Black next year!

Good morning Guardians, I hope you all had fun last night, particularly those of you with children and/or grandchildren Halloween is an old traditional event here, and when I was a kid, it was celebrated as it had been when my parents were young, turnip lanterns, apple bobbing, Halloween masks, a few spooky decorations, but not much beyond that. Things weren't much different when my own kids were young. It's different now. I took some Halloween candy down to Matt's, and arrived to be greeted by his daughter Rheia. I'm not sure what her costume was, but she looked nice. However, she then decided she wanted to go to the party as 'Corpse Bride', so there was a costume change, and make-up She was going, with her mum to a Halloween party, and then trick-or-treating. Me, Cillian, and Matt headed to the pub, which was very busy. We had food and a couple of pints, which was nice. Matt invited me back to have a drink, but I passed, and had an early night, but I didn't sleep too well - probably the sight of Corpse Bride! I have some work to finish off this morning, and an online meeting, before I go over to Bradford again. It's raining outside unfortunately Have a great day Guardians, and enjoy your weekend

Looks long, though.

It was cold but dry here. We don't get any trick-or-treaters in this neighborhood. I wouldn't know, though, since my porch light isn't on. Maybe next year I'll buy some candy and do the V Fawkes bit here.
Probably not, though. Maybe next year I'll go to trunk or treat at the church as V Fawkes or the Grim Reaper.
