Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks Steve 😎

Afternoon all
Kristy had the day off, wednesday. So we went and picked up my new specs.

Then we had Italian out for lunch.

Pizza with a side of fries, now that’s living! 😁

Good morning Guardians, it's been a little quiet round here recently. Busy time of the year I guess 🤷‍♂️ I woke up to a sprinkling of snow here in Leeds, but it makes little difference to me, as I'll be working all day  At least I'm not out in the cold ;) Have a good day everyone

Cool pic, Jack. Love that burl!

Must feel good to have the leaves taken care of, Barrett; congrats!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Our oak trees always seem quite reluctant to drop their brown, leathery leaves. We usually have a fair amount of leaf clean-up in the spring, too. I think we've put out our big yard waste cart full of leaves for the city to take away 3 times so far, and I filled it again this afternoon.
Your rosewood HHB is always worth noting!:cool::thumbsup:

I hate dealing with leaves, but it is nice to be done. We have a few trees that are stragglers, but I think I was able to wait long enough this year to let most of them fall. (Most years it’s a balancing act of waiting for all the leaves to fall but beating the snow.) I was also grateful that it’s been pretty dry here this fall, so the leaves were mostly dry.

Was that the Prince-themed game against the Denver Nuggets? My daughter, and especially my son-in-law are huge Timberwolves fans. My daughter was getting her hair cut or processed in some way a year ago, and the coach of the Wolves came in for a haircut. She got a selfie with him and sent it to her husband; I'm not sure if he has recovered from his envy yet! 🤓

It was. The Timberwolves’ City Edition jerseys this year are “Prince-inspired,” and for the handful of games they’ll be wearing them, they also have a matching alternate court and special lighting. I’m not really a huge NBA guy, but Julie has become a pretty big Timberwolves fan since we’ve lived here and sometimes gets tickets through her job.

That Lunar Lamb really shoots the moon (like in the card game Hearts, a rare and exciting occurrence)!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, GT. It has definitely become a favorite!

It sure is cold here today, quite took me by surprise, particularly as the Perfume Fatties are no longer there to act as a wind-break 🥶 My coffee was going cold as fast as I could drink it, not to mention the chips and gravy! Plenty of visitors to the tool stall, but nobody stayed long. Old Brian came by for the first time in a while, and was well wrapped-up, Otley Mick, who is back at work on the buses, Hell-On-Wheels, who was heading to a hospital appointment, and Musical Andy, who was out with his missus. Gravel was there, Ex-Para Steve, Golden Gordon, Robert The Badge, and Boring Ray of course. I had a couple of hours, and then headed off for another coffee, on my way home. Tool Man and the Teds are off to Scarborough on the North Yorkshire coast this weekend, for one of their annual beanos

Hanging out with the Brylcreem Boys!

I love their matching (well, nearly matching) coats. 🤣

An accurate description Jer, and what a beautiful ruler/caliper  I carry this old Chesterman folding ruler, which is older than I am ;) Got myself a flecktarn bandana this week, because I still haven't grown up! :D

How do you like that Lochby pocket notebook holder? (I’m assuming that’s what it is.) I’ve seen them advertised a lot, and I do carry a pocket notebook with me just about everywhere, but I’m afraid a cover like that might add more bulk than I’d care for.

L’Ariete is looking stunning as always!:thumbsup:

We still have a few of those old phone boxes, though they often have small community libraries, potted plants, or even art galleries inside :D

This one in London (I believe it was just outside Kensington Gardens) still appeared to be a phone, but that was 8 years ago now, which explains how tiny Eleanor and her cousin Sybil are in there.

Fantastic character on that one! Was that the Ironwood prototype/sample?

Enjoy your Sunday everyone. Some gardening and American football on the menu today.

Nice shot of your sunbathing HHB, Bob. 😁

This is an old pic, but it's a better look at an Eccles cake

Jack, I believe “Eccles” is a word I’ve only ever seen in writing (and probably only here 🤣), so I’m curious about the pronunciation. Does it rhyme with the word “heckles,” or is it pronounced like “eck-less”? In my mind I think I’ve always read it as the latter, but I have a feeling I’m probably wrong. 😁

Put some of those giant baubles today.

Those are, indeed, some large baubles, Mitch. I’ve seen several videos online recently of people connecting several of those big (probably 2 or 3 ft) Christmas light bulbs together to make it look like a light strand, with twisted green pool noodles for the cord and a fake plug made from a small trash can. One guy attached them to his roof using some wood blocks, which he nailed directly into his asphalt shingles. 😳

I always seem to be a day late posting pics here lately. This was from last night, we were out running errands and stopped for beer and deep dish pizza.

Its been overcast and dreary here all day, but I've been watching the KC football game and the sun is shining with blue skies 140 miles to the west. By the time it gets here, if it gets here at all, it'll be dark 🤪
Happy Sunday y'all View attachment 3033643

Handsome Lamb Mitch :) I believe the Spanish have a word for those big baubles! :D
Nice-looking Pile side David :)
I would have been 13 when it first aired in 1970. It may have reached channel 11 in Chicago a few years later.

I succumbed to another tin of Walkers shortbread. But that butter is chock-full of protein.
You had a Channel 11?! :D I think we had just got up to 3 here in 1970 :D Shortbread used to be my winter mountaineering snack, lots of fat and calories 😋 😂 Good to see your Space Lamb Jer

It's attractive and nicely-made Barrett, you can basically use it as a wallet, as it has plenty of extra storage. As you suspect, and I suspected too, the bulk makes it less useful. I carry it in my satchel, but I always have a notebook in my pocket anyway. It was a bit of a frivolous buy, and I just bought one of their other products, which is also nicely made, but even more frivolous! :D

Thank you again my friend :)

What a cute pic :) I was just there a few months back, but I failed to notice if there are still phones in the phone boxes, there may be :) And what about that arrow on the wall to the left of the phone box? ;)

Yes, it was Barrett, thank you :) It has darkened a bit from carry. Here it is when new

An interesting question Barrett, and fortunately there's an easy answer :D ;)

Eccles is actually the name of a place in Lancashire. As with many places in that part of Northern England, cars are yet to arrive.

Sounds like a great plan buddy, love your pics 😋😁
Evening all
Went the movies this afternoon.
What did you go to see Mitch?

Good morning Guardians, welcome to another week, and a special one for our US members I believe. Safe travels to those travelling, and I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving. I don't have much work to do until later, so I think I'm going to find something to do at home, as Charlie's is still closed, and the weather is miserable again  Have a good one Guardians

My strands of time are not all interwoven. We had 2.5 channels until UHF brought it up to 3. Then the advent of cable brought it up to eight or so.

Maybe it's time to start your own food cart.

Bear Grylls may be a showboating glamour-puss drama queen, but he writes with admirable succinctness.

And thanks for the tip/excuse about shortbread!

We are leaving immediately after work today to fly home to St. Louis to be with my oldest daughter's family for the holiday. Looks like the weather shouldn't be too cold, so I hope we don't freeze our warmth adjusted Florida butts off! Probably won't post much this week, if at all, but I hope you all have a great holiday.
