Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks for the commiseration, Dave and Barrett. My wife is flying back this evening and encountering some delays of her own. Won't get in until after midnight.
Guess who gets to drive 60 miles round trip to pick her up. 😩

I used Roper to open a week's worth of mail tonight after getting home from work. Hold Mail sure makes for a headache when you return!

Had to replace the gate latch this morning.
The storms and wind the past week snapped the bar.
I went out a few afternoons ago my umbrella was on the ground, thought it had snapped off.
No days of strong winds had unscrewed it where it screws on to the base.....amazing.

Hope you dodged the snow buddy :)
It has really become routine. My wife had both eyes done at the beginning of the year.
I remember, I hope things are a lot better for her now
We got lucky this year. We left early yesterday and had smooth sailing on 210 from near San Bernardino to the I-5 junction. Going north on I-5 we ran into a few traffic jams but not too bad.
A few years ago I was visiting my mother near St George. I-15 to Vegas was fine, but then it got ugly. At the California border there was 11 miles of stopped traffic, and over the next 110 miles of driving across the desert (with no significant on ramps or off ramps, literally the middle of nowhere) it was an endless series of stops and then getting up to about 45 before stopping again. No accidents, just half of the LA basin going home from Vegas. Once we got on 58 in Barstow it was fine until we got to Kramer Junction. This was before the overpass was built and there was a stop light at the intersection of 58 and 395. There was a line of cars eight miles long at that light and it took us an hour just to get through that one light. Once we got to 99 in Bakersfield (after passing through @Horsewright’s town of Tehachapi) we had a lot of slowdowns until we got home in Visalia. What should have been an eight hour drive took twelve hours. Never again. Now when I visit my mother on a holiday weekend I wait until Monday morning to drive home.
I’m still peeved that CHP didn’t put an officer at Kramer Junction to wave traffic through. There was zero backup and very light traffic on 395, all the traffic was on 58.

But that was short compared to my trips to the Philippines. 18 hours would be very fast. One time it took 36 hours to get from my wife’s home town to our home in Visalia.
That doesn't sound like fun!

Must have been a strong wind Mitch! Good photo opportunity though :)

It's cold here, but sunny, and I decided to have a walk down to the cafe, get a coffee, see Hisham, and deliver my gift for baby Leila. The cafe has a new name now, but it'll always be Charlie's Cafe to me ;) Hisham is very proud of his new coffee roaster, though it's not operational yet

What's the new name?

There's a big, flat, restaurant way up 14th Street, in a big parking lot that's empty of cars in the daytime when I drive by. It was always called Fricano's. Maybe it was Friccano's, but we'll never know, because now it's Joe Schmo's. It's no real loss to me, since I never went into Fricano's, but I don't want to go into Joe Schmo's.

I'm going to keep this pic for while and reuse it a bit.

Hello Guardians! I've been away for quite awhile but had a moment to check in and say hi! Things are well here (my wife gave birth to our sixth in March, which explains some of the absence!). Be well, good fellows!

Old picture, but I still have my Ashley's Choice!

I hope you're able to enjoy the sunshine !

Good Tuesday to you. The 5 Amigos turkeys are still here. I’ve been here 10 years and they always take off well before Thanksgiving and don’t reappear until February or so. All the other turkeys left as usual. I hope they stay as I enjoy watching them watch me. They seem to really enjoy sitting around with me and my cat. Lollygagging turkeys.

It was nice out this morning and I got a good picture. I didn’t have a lamb with me but pulled out this Keown in gnarly mammoth when I got home.
