LOL! Well, parkin is a type of ginger cake, so Tool Man didn't have to dig too deep (£1.50), and you can guess who ate most of it!Thanks for the report Jack. I'm shocked that Tool Man sprung for some grub

Sorry to hear that David, good luck next weekGot blood drawn today. Get ready for next week's doc appointment. I was part way home when the lab at the hospital called me and told me they didn't draw even blood could I come back. So my afternoon out took longer than originally planned.

Just saw this picture on my big screen...........................................Christmas card?
Cool pic Mitch
I think we all have a few scars from school!Don't do that.
I fell off a chair at school 3 stitches in the noggin.
If I had £1.....Although I did see the cane once or twice in primary school.
They do have that reputation, oddlyI had the Nuns in primary school. They were experts in dispensing disciplinary pain.![]()
When I started infant school, a few months before my 5th birthday, the children had to sit cross-legged on the floor of the school hall for Assembly (prayers and hymns). The teachers would stand round the sides with sticks, and clout you on the head if you were not singing to their satisfaction. Frustrated by their inability to reach the children in the centre of the hall, they brought in longer and longer sticks, some of which must have been fishing poles. They laughed and joked about their competition. They were just ordinary women in a state-run school, most of whom were mothers themselves, and while this was very far from the most sadistic thing I witnessed at school, I still today, sometimes wonder what possessed them to be so casually cruel to small childrenThey were excellent at manipulating a yard stick.!!
That looks tasty Mitch!

Thanks JackThat looks tasty Mitch!![]()

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone has survived the week unscathedNobber Al was telling me yesterday, how there had been a proposal to amalgamate the two main Sheffield football clubs, Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United. Since there is rivalry between their fans that is beyond fierce, I'm looking forward to reading their reaction to this sage idea!
I was supposed to be meeting Wolfie for coffee this morning, but he let me know, just now, that he had "forgotten" SWMBO was using the car today
I am still looking forward to getting coffee though. Nothing too much on today otherwise, but I'm sure something will come along
I have L'Ariete in my pocket
Have a great day Guardians

Have my HHB with me today and making sure I keep it out of the rain.
Great Fall Pic!!!Have my HHB with me today and making sure I keep it out of the rain.
As a lifelong Cowboys fan who has had to suffer 30 years of mediocrity and very occasional playoff failures since Jerry fired coach Jimmy Johnson in the late 90s, I feel your pain. And since the Packers have been responsible for many of our most painful season endings and early playoff exits, I’m delighted to root for the Bears with you!Happy Friday Guardians! There's a big game football this weekend, my hometown Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers, that I'm getting stoked for. Bears have surprised many this season but I'm just glad they're watchable again. Too many years of just awful play and coaching. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Thanks Mitch, you tooThanks Jack
It was tasty
You have a great day
Don't forget the sunscreen Jer!
That's nice Steve, I have one or two keepsakes from one of my grandfathers, and nothing but happy memories from the other. I had one pair of grandparents who were real collectors and hoarders, and another pair that kept nothing, but a few photos of their grandkids. Thank you for the kind words my friendThanks, I'm happy that I have quite a few tools of his and also also his pipes and tobacco boxes. Me and my brother spend many hours up in his hut as he called it learning to use hand tools.
Great shot of L'Ariete![]()
