Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Over in another thread I learned a new word today: "brumous". Brumous means foggy which it was this morning:

Now over here in Guardians I learn "treacle". I saw that the Parkin cake was made with the "finest treacle". Not knowing what "treacle" was, I wasn't sure if I'd want anything with treacle in it regardless of being the "finest" 🤔 Turns out its molasses. Before I had to start watching my sugar, biscuits and molasses was one my favorite morning treats

I generally try not to reuse pics in multiple threads, but I just didn't get very many good pics this morning.

Good to see you buddy. Hope your well. Excellent HHB you got there 👍🤠
Thanks David, I love this knife. I had another search in all the seat channels of the car the other day, hoping with all my heart I would come across my AC, but no....:( This Hartshead I love!! 😍
Good to see you Duncan. I hope you guys are doing well 👍
Thanks Steve, doing ok my friend!

I hope your absence is due to lollygaggin', and not work Duncan, and that you and Sue are doing OK mate. Nice shots of your Hartshead Barlow :) Hope you'll come back and see us soon :)
Thank you Jack 😀 Working on the House,, which is a bit hard right now, my Hip has decided to flare up badly- so it's almost a full time battle! Been 40 years now battling pain with this darned thing - just from one fall! Nevermind, when I get a bit down, I look at just how many people would give everything to be in my position 🙂
I will always be back here my friend!
Nice to see your presences with that sweet HHB Duncan.
I hope all is well. It is understandable that, at times, life takes you other places.
Bob thank you kind Sir! yep, Life gives us these challenges, my one is a 103 year old House 🤣
Ok! Time to get a coffee!

Have the best day folks!

Pretty amazing Dave, but several hundred others also had the same idea of visiting! The place was packed, with a 20 minute wait at the bar, roasting hot, and it was a struggle to find a seat, so we had 2 pints, and went elsewhere for food. Will definitely be back though
Jack, eager for the next field report! I’m keeping a list of your favorite spots.

Got eye exams for me and the Mrs. today, then we went out to lunch. After, I put together a new side table for our library, then while Dawn was celebrating a friend's birthday I finally got around to watching Prey. Holy Moly, that's a good movie - best of the Predator movies by far (and I love the original one with Arnie). Now, I've only seen it once so far, but this might be a Top 10 action movie for me. Highly recommended!

ashwinearl ashwinearl lamb with me today, and it capably opened a few packages here and there today - but overall an easy day for this beauty. (Thanks again, Generous Bob!)

Thanks Jack. No brolly for me, just a comfortable couch.
Always nice to have a new venue to enjoy a bite and pint.🍻
Good to hear Bob :)
Thanks Jack, so far so good 👍

Nice find 😉👍
Good to hear Steve :) I thought so, but that cheap parkin was a long way from good unfortunately! 🫣 😂

Interesting new word Mike :) Cool pics too :) When I was a kid, 'Golden Syrup' was commonly referred to as 'treacle', and in London, the word 'treacle' is used as a casual endearment :) In Yorkshire, it was often pronounced closer to the Old French, 'Triacle', from where the English get the word. Properly made, parkin can be quite expensive to bake yourself, but the one I got yesterday had a lot of 'filler' in lieu of traditional quality ingredients

Really sorry to hear about your hip Duncan, you're a trooper mate :) A hundred year house is considered pretty recent here! :D
It got above freezing today for long enough to melt and dry my concrete. There'd been a little snow overnight that I didn' get myself together in time to clear.

Industrious as ever Jer :)
Jack, eager for the next field report! I’m keeping a list of your favorite spots.
Thanks Dave :) There was another place me and Matt went to, but it certainly won't be becoming a favourite! :D In the centre of Leeds, is the city's oldest church, St John's. There is a public garden next to it, and tucked away in this, between the church and the road on the other side, Matt told me an odd little pub had opened. We actually thought it had opened in the spot where a cafe had been, but the cafe was still open, so we went through a gate, and in a small wooden shed, a strange, but amiable pair of young gentlemen, wearing bow-ties, were standing behind a small bar. They had a couple of oddly-named and overpriced beers, which Matt told me had a 'Harry Potter' theme. It was cold, dark, and raining heavily, and we didn't really understand why anyone would want to stand in the rain drinking beer. One of the fellers pointed to a couple of small, unlit sheds, saying we could drink our beer in one of them. It sounded about as appealing as their beer looked! :D

Later, Matt sent me some guff from their website: "The star of the show? Our outdoor magical chalets - cozy, themed hideaways where you and your friends can gather, laugh, and toast the night away, even on the chilliest evenings. With twinkling lights and a touch of wizardry in the air, The Wand and Tankard brings a unique sparkle to Leeds' social scene." 🫣🤣🤣
Violet
Splitting some foam to use as hat filler.
I'm still looking for the perfect oval shaped head😇
My head has acquired a few lumps and bumps these past few years! Perhaps I need a foam-padded hat! :D Nice work, Violet :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I was woken at 7am by an Amazon delivery driver! 😠 Hoping the day gets better, but I won't be doing much, possibly some work later  I messed-up with my knife choices yesterday after changing my trousers, and ended up carrying my Rosemount Lamb, rather than the Twisted Assisted Linen Micarta one I had meant to carry! 😖 I didn't even realise until I got home, and cut my cheapskate parkin  Thought I needed a little Waboom! today ;) Have a great day Guardians

Very productive day it seems Tyson.
His lambs appear to be very rare.

Industrious as ever Jer :)
And another light coating last night! I'll have to stay industrious.
And get some lights up today. Advent is going fast.

Seems to me there were three sisters who lived in a treacle well, but that's all I remember.

And mustard is a mineral. "There's a large mustard mine quite near here."

Sounds like a terrible idea! Without some magic, I wonder if they’ll make it 6 months!

We’re having a friend over to celebrate his birthday with homemade pancakes then off to see the new “Knives Out” / Benoit Blanc film Wake Up Dead Man in the theater.

A.Wright 🐑 to start this chilly morning in Dallas.

There were no lights, no music, no people, and it's completely hidden away behind bushes, so you wouldn't come across it by accident, particularly as the park closes around 4.30pm  I did wish them 'Good Luck' in making it to the summer! :D It reminded me of one of these places
