Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Excellent post, and a great photo, my good friend :) That's world's nicer than the later IXL 'Simulated Stag' Lambsfoot Barlow I got in a 'job lot' some time back, one of the ugliest knives I've ever seen

That IS ugly! Can't look away, though....

One of my AC’s also wears battle scars, or fencing scratches. Part of the life history of the Stag, which I think adds to it’s appeal. Many a knife company shy away from using this natural type of stag.

That is some nice Sambar Russell! My friend Harry once told me, there’s no bad Stag, but some is better than others! :)

I like that photo Will :)

Good Morning Guardians
Jack, I'm sure this is a very busy and stressful time for you. We all appreciate it though.

Thanks John, it's been a VERY stressful 24 hours. Thanks to those of you who haven't made it even more stressful :grumpy:

Pheww, many pages to catch up with!

Good day, Guardians.

Here are a couple of pics I took a little while ago that show the inclusion near the bolster.

Wow, that must be one of the prettiest horn handled knives I've seen! And I love the character given by the inclusion. Great knife

While I'm away dealing with emails, here's a couple of pics for you Guardians to look at...

Please drool quietly (I will be in touch) ;)

I'm having a hard time trying to prevent myself fom looking at them too much - I would inevitably get to like some better than others and I just don't want to spoil the surprise of opening my parcel... Can't wait !!!

Eeek, reminds me of that IXL lambsfoot I had seen online: words failed me

The patina on my TEW is getting nicer every day - pic dedicated to Jack Black Jack Black , I brought the beer mats from Leeds last year ;)
I really love the size and shape of that TEW, if only the scales were real jigged bone... Well, I'll have to hunt for another one then and get the lambsfoot fever! :D
Have a nice evening Guardians (evening for me), and for those of you who are going to endure those extreme temperatures I've heard of: stay warm!!

Had enough of the factory edge, so I gave her a proper sharpening. She's a cutter now.

Nice Christian, see you thinned it out some :) I was asking Wright's about those knives with a bit more sway in the handle - didn't even know what I was talking about! :D

There's no doubt that some are fancier than others, but I still think all the wood is beautiful, particularly in good light. One or two are actually quite dark, but when you look at them, there's loads 'going on' in the wood :)

Isn't that a shocker?! What were they thinking of?!

Thanks for the dedication :) I'm glad you're loving the Lambsfoot :) I haven't been in Bundobust for a bit. Last day of my January sobriety tomorrow

Again, Jack, I apologize. :(

I'll put it down to your circumstances, and expect some more stellar pics Dwight ;)

Smashing pic David, nice to see you're out and about :)

Were they thinking at all?? That is a terrible, terrible knife. Even the bolsters are ugly and show some kind of weird decoloration. It almost takes a genius mind to come up with something like that :D

An evil genius! :D

Gotta thin it out. Modern factory slipjoints leave the edge much too thick for my tastes, and my natural sharpening angle (pretty close to flat on the stone) ends up thinning the bevels out a fair bit.

I much favor the knives with the extra sway. I think they're the best looking of the bunch, don't much like the standard shape. Probably a good thing too, otherwise I'm liable to end up like you lot and with multiple lambsfoot knives in my drawer. :p
