Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Your right it is and has been made even more restrictive...I'm not sure when though. I bought some ivory grips for a 1911 pistol a few years ago from a seller on the east coast. They along with a lot of other merchants no longer have any ivory listed for sale. I believe that here in the USA, ivory can only be exchanged inside individual states, and there are restrictions on that. Preston

Right thanks for that pjsjr  I found what I was thinking about.

So this is UK legislation however it mentions being in line with other countries including the U.S, so that must refer to the controls on interstate sales.
I seem to recall you could sell ivory, with a proven provenance, of I think it was either pre-1946 or pre 1956?? But this legislation will ban the sale regardless of age and provenance.
Btw, that's a lovely looking 1911 there .

Jack Black Jack Black , I could stand to have a few artsy bones like that  Nicely done.

Ray

Me too Ray, I used to tie trout flies as a teenager, and that was about the last artistic thing I did!

I remember that being in the papers David, did we discuss it by PM, I can't remember? I don't think the legislation has gone through yet though.

It's actually a piece of hiking furniture ;)

You cut the sticks, lash them together, and hope you don't end up on your backside! :D

Would not of guessed that in a million. My grandfather had something similar, but I would never sit on it for fear of collapsing the whole thing, just as you hoped you wouldn’t.

My (prize) Lambsfoot working up a patina.

I think it's an old idea Russell, the canvas is very tough, might even hold a fat old sod like me! :D That patina is coming along nicely

Aye we may of actually. No these things take ages. I've not checked on the Offensive Weapons Consultation for a bit either with them all being on Christmas leave for weeks and bloidy Brexit :D.

Yeah, I'm going to have to stop following other threads just to keep up with this one!

Oh I did that ages ago; I stopped posting in the Traditional EDC thread. I spend a lot of time on computers for work nowadays and my eyes were going square. So I still follow other threads and will occasionally post in one or two, but only really post regularly in this and the 'Beverages' thread.

Yeah, there's one cloud I didn't think was going to have a silver lining! :D

At least you can see the light at the end of the tunnel

Great pictures. Thanks for posting them.

Well Done

Yeah, only 3 left now

Yeah great pics donn donn , I missed them before, don't they'd loaded because of my rotten internet connection

This is my favorite thread though, I'm so glad for Jack's gift so I can participate more fully.
I like that this thread combines some off-topic as well as some on-topic discussion. I also like how this thread doesn't disintegrate into passive aggressive behavior, like many others on the forum. And I like that Jack runs a pretty tight ship and looks out for all of us. Long live the Lambsfoot!
