Found a Japanese restaurant near by. Each container must weight 5 lbs. and all tasted good. My wife had general tso chicken...she had a towel to wipe the perspiration off.

About 30 years ago, I got a magazine assignment to write an article about a prison football team. They were at a then notorious South Yorkshire prison, in a town called Doncaster. Because it was surrounded by water on 3 sides, the prison quickly got dubbed 'Doncatraz'. They had set up a team about 6 months before, joined a local league, and were beating all-comers by crazy margins. It helped that the prison team were all young fit guys, who didn't have to go out to work every day, didn't turn up for their matches hungover, and that the visiting teams (all their games were 'at home') were usually pretty intimidated. I wanted to take photos too, which was a security issue, but the gym staff were really helpful in arranging everything. I turned up for a game one Sunday morning, and it was quite an experience, I got some great photos, and got well-paid for my article too. One of the things I remember is a member of the visiting team, (from a local pub), saying to his team-mate, "I recognise that big feller from Crimewatch!" The bloke he was talking about was actually a member of the prison gym staff, who was substituting for one of the prison regulars!![]()
Last shift until Sunday night for me. I’ll be turning 40 tomorrow and it feels a bit odd. Honestly can’t believe it. Where did the first 40 go?. Got my stag Charlie lamb in the pocket today.

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone's week is going well. I remember turning 40 being a big one, but it's a long time ago now!I'm still coughing a bit, and going to have to cancel a speaking engagement at the weekend, but I'm not too fussed about that. I have work to do today, but it'll be steady
Slipped Barrett's GL-24 in my pocket
Have a great day everyone, especially the birthday boy

Great photo Barrett. It takes in two of my passions. Here’s a Lambsfoot pic I took over the weekend and forgot to post, from one of Eleanor’s softball games. It was sunny and fairly warm that day; she had another game last night and it was 40-something degrees and windy, which was not much fun.

Thank you Paul, sorry to hear you're coughing too. I'll take your advice on medicating.........you're not the only one still coughing a bit, Jack........and still working![]()
Maybe try a different single malt in the evenings to chase it away...
Wishing you speedy recovery

I don't recall even seeing carrot cake until I was in my mid 20's, and possibly quite a bit older. Now it's a bit of a cafe staple here, and in fact it was the only cake they had on offer in the Corn Exchange cafeAfter all the rhubarb discussion last week, I had a hankering for some carrot cake, so we picked up a couple slices at the fancy grocery store close to us over the weekend. It was surprisingly good for grocery store cake!![]()
When I was a youngster, on the way back from the pub, I'd sometimes walk a considerable distance, so that I could call in TWO Chinese takeaways! That looks tasty, Bob! When I was in college, I used to get chicken fried rice from my favorite Chinese place. They used those Chinese to-go containers that fold at the top, and I swear they must’ve used a hydraulic press to put the fried rice in there. I could get two meals out of the amount of food they crammed in there (and that’s saying something for me in college).Real bang for your buck!

LOL!We had a big party for Julie’s 40th birthday, along with a friend of hers who shares the same birthday (same year, too). Definitely her sort of thing, but not really my idea of fun. She asked what I wanted to do for my 40th last year, I said, “The exact opposite of what we did for yours.”![]()
Thanks brotherYour GL-24 is looking good, Jack. Great dark spot on that one. I’d wished at the time that more of them had come out with those spots, but I think they all turned out great either way!

I remember being in my late 30's, and already seen a bit of life, and a big grizzled South African I knew, told me, in that mad accent, "Ah, you're just a PUP until you get to 40!"
That's some great-looking stag there
