Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Quite the cast of characters ! 😁
Yes indeed! :D
Very interesting Jack.
It's a strange feeling being on the inside when you have done nothing wrong.

In college I was on a baseball team that would go to Sing Sing
prison in New York and play the inmates.
Yeah, not an experience I've forgotten Bob, though I didn't see too much of the jail (which was mainly for unconvicted prisoners). The astroturf pitch was over near the prison wall, so I was taken from the gate to the adjacent gymnasium, out to where the pitch was, and then back to the gate after the match. I couldn't take my own camera in, but they had one there for me, because they had to check the photos. Unfortunately, they took a few weeks getting the developed photos to me, and in that time 2 things happened. I was commissioned by one of the 2 men's magazines that existed here at the time (Loaded), but by chance, the rival magazine (GQ), ran a piece, which also had some connection to sport in prison, and while it wasn't exactly the same, it soured my piece. I did still get paid, but it was frustrating. The other thing that happened is that the prison team got kicked out of the local league, because their pitch had been built a couple of feet short! It turned out that they were informed on by a member of staff, who thought the prisoners had it too easy. I think he lost his job.

I imagine visiting Sing Sing was very different in terms of security Bob. Good for you, that must have been quite an experience

Unfortunate timing ruins many a situation.
It was very interesting Jack. Metal detectors, armed guards all around.
When not in the field we were in a large metal cage!
The first year we played and won. Lots of upset prisonrs, because they would bet on the games.

Yes indeed. Sing Sing is certainly a very famous prison. The one I went to had only just opened, and I don't recall much security at all, not even a metal-detector, and certainly no guns. I imagine there was more security in terms of the visiting team, who came in a large coach, but like me, they didn't get into the main part of the prison. One thing I do recall is that there were wires above the pitch, with orange spheres strung onto them, and I was told that the wires were to prevent helicopters landing. I'm glad you won, and got away with it buddy ;)

I'm sure that if you were to mention that you'd been in Sing Sing, it would only enhance your reputation with the locals my friend ;) :D

Last shift until Sunday night for me. I’ll be turning 40 tomorrow and it feels a bit odd. Honestly can’t believe it. Where did the first 40 go? 😂. Got my stag Charlie lamb in the pocket today.
Happy Birthday, Paul, hope you have a great day, VA appointments notwithstanding.
I don’t have much info on this Lamb.

Lovely knife, Austin!👍

Wow! Happy Birthday Paul! 🎂 Many Happy Returns brother, and I hope you have a great day :) I remember being in my late 30's, and already seen a bit of life, and a big grizzled South African I knew, told me, in that mad accent, "Ah, you're just a PUP until you get to 40!" :D That's some great-looking stag there
The motley crew 👍😁
The Magnificent Seven :D

Looking good buddy :)
The Barrett.

Great choice Mitch :)

WOW! Great-looking Lamb  I wonder if that blade has been re-polished? I've always loved their Grinder mark, and have a butter-knife in my kitchen drawer with it on :D

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone's week is going well. I remember turning 40 being a big one, but it's a long time ago now! :D I'm still coughing a bit, and going to have to cancel a speaking engagement at the weekend, but I'm not too fussed about that. I have work to do today, but it'll be steady :) Slipped Barrett's GL-24 in my pocket :) Have a great day everyone, especially the birthday boy :)
