Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

LOL! Well, it's possible Charlie! :D There are a lot of people in Sheffield with Italian ancestry. My great grandmother was best friends all her life with an Italian lady, and their daughters were also life-long best friends. Until the 1970's, they had lived in the same yard all their lives. I was very fond of Mrs Oxley, and knew all her extended family, who were like relatives to us. I think they must have been from the south, as they had olive skin and jet black hair :)

Thanks Steve, it was tasty :)

It's great to see you my friend, and I hope your travels have been interesting :) I hope this looks familiar ;)

Beautiful pic Dwight, it's great to see your Big Un again :)

Great pic Paul :) By coincidence, I picked out the same Lamb to carry today! :D I hope work isn't too punishing brother

Sweet Mitch :)
Thanks Jack
Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is doing well :) I can't seem to shift this cold I've had for 3 weeks or so, I was coughing like a coal miner last night! It might have been influenced by starting to re-watch Justified ;) :D It is wet and miserable here today, and with plenty of work to do, I might have a day indoors  By a happy coincidence, when I picked out a Lambsfoot to carry today, last night, which is not something I do commonly, I decided on the same knife Paul is carrying, my 2017 Guardians Lambsfoot :) Have a great day Guardians

Cool Lamb shot

Yeah it’s been wet here for the past couple of days.
Yep Justified is a good watch. I’ve watched it a couple of times👍
I’m rewatching Marco Polo.
Have a great day.

Thanks Jack

Thanks Mitch, I guess winter is approaching there buddy, I hope you don't get anymore rain than you need

Strangely, it was actually Tool Man who first recommended it to me. It's been about 10 years since I last watched it, and enjoyed the first few episodes last night

I just came across this Carl Kammerling would-be Lambsfoot in a box of penknives I need to clean up. As you can see, it isn't actually a Lamb, but a lot more like one than the knives they're producing today

CK Lambsfoot (3) 1-1.jpg

Here, CK are known for their semi-budget tools, and they sell their cheap modern knives in hardware stores. The company have an interesting history, and their older knives can be quite nice. The knife above is made in Italy, where CK have generally had their knives made, though they may be going to China now. The older ones look more like Solingen. The Lambsfoot below is also made in Italy, and also a cheaply-made knife. For collectors, I don't really think these knives are worth picking up

We had a brief tempest here yesterday. When I was almost home, there was a sudden sheet of hail from my right, then a wave of rain from my left.

Then almost utter darkness, and furious winds, and thunder. I napped through most of it and woke up with my electricity intact.
Our valued customers had been buying bark and dirt like they thought it was Saturday.

Sounds apocalyptic Jer! 😱 Glad you're hanging onto that wonderful IXL 👍

One year warranty inspection today. Surprisingly, not too much to fix.

I hope our Midwest friends are doing well. Those storms and tornados look fierce.

Your garden is looking good as is that lamb ! 👍

Jack, the golden feathering on your '17 is just gorgeous! After giving Roper a good workout over the last couple weeks I've put RALF back in pocket this morning.
Have a great one, Guardians!

Hope you shake that cold soon, Jack!!

It certainly was Charlie, a small dead-end street with cobbles, off a main road lined with steel and tool firms, and cutlery firms too of course, including Samuel Barlow (it was the area John Barlow lived in old age). The terraced houses were small, and backed onto communal yards, with a row of outdoor toilets opposite the houses. Everyone was like family, and as a small child I'd just wander in and out of the houses, and everyone would be pleased to see me, particularly as I was the first of my generation. Behind the yard, was a large flat field, know as The Lane, where houses had stood originally (before they were bombed), and on the small hill, know as The Tip, there were rows of 'coyts' used for racing pigeons. In truth, the houses were slums though, and they were demolished in the 1970's. People gained indoor baths and toilets, but unfortunately they lost a lot else besides. Most folks ended up living in these notorious flats, which quickly deteriorated :(

Thank you Charlie, I don't understand why it has dragged on so long 🤷‍♂️ Maybe I have had two! 😖🫣👍
