Just booked a hotel for a couple of nights in London next month, it'd have been cheaper to fly to Spain!

On our two trips to visit my brother and his family in England, we only stayed in London one night, the first night of our first visit. We stayed at the Hilton London Paddington, which is, of course, connected to Paddington station. It worked out great, as we took the Heathrow express from the airport to Paddington the day we arrived, and a train from Paddington to Bath the day after. We were able to leave our bags there both before and after checking in/out so we had more time to see the city, and the accommodations were quite nice. That said, I’m glad we were only paying for one night, and that we were staying at my brother’s place for free the rest of the trip.
LOL!The last time I was in London, I learned everything is overpriced, and cash buys nothing!
I will probably entertain myself to smiling, and saying hello to strangers, something which is guaranteed to disturb any Londoner, if not to terrify them!
The more I learn about it, the more I’m convinced that the North of England is the equivalent of the South here in the US.
Eleanor had a softball double-header this morning, so we spent several hours at the softball field. Thankfully it was mostly overcast and not too hot, but the sun did come out occasionally, and it got warmer as the second game was going on. I had my Rhidian What-A-Lamb with me today.
There’s a snack stand at the softball facility, at which we might normally just get some popcorn or a Coke, but since we were there twice as long today, I needed a bit of sustenance. I love a good hot dog, but this was an ok hot dog at best.
Here’s Eleanor on the field. I’d love to tell you she's playing deep at shortstop here, but at the level she’s currently at, this is where the outfield play.
Scout has a few friends she’ll run around during these games (younger siblings of some of Eleanor’s teammates). Today she and a friend found a shady spot to hang out and eat snacks.
