Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Well I got tired of passively waiting, so I put out an ironwood decoy this morning to see if I could lure something in.

And that worked!

Tremendous job Jack! Thank you so much!
Gorgeous knife!
(Gotta find me an ivory decoy)

Good morning Guardians! This thread leaps forward so quickly, it will probably take me all weekend to thoroughly catch up.

The ironwoods all look stunning! I can’t get enough of them. I love those golden ribbons running through the grain. Please keep posting photos of them. I’m still eagerly awaiting my own. I’m sure it will be here in the next few days. Until then, this should hold me over.

Thoroughly enjoying the showing of all these beauties. As I wait patiently for mine to arrive, I’m sustained by waking up to the fact, that on this side of the Pond, It’s National Pizza Day. I’d show you a pic with a slice, but alas it’s not a lambsfoot. Cheers.

Excellent, have used decoys for other things, not knives. Glad to see it worked for you, beautiful grain and color.

Taylor's @tmd_87 gorgeous wood drew me in but with my weakness for stag I hope to find one like yours Steve. All around super example.

Both some gorgeous Lambs!:)

Nice!
On the way back to Okla., we usually spend the night in Roswell, get an early start, and eat breakfast in Portales, little cafe on the north side as your leaving toward Clovis. I hate Albuquerque, so we go through Roswell, Ruidoso, 'Gordo, Cruces on to Silver.

There is a lot to see around the Gila, and some nice fishing as well. My Great Great Grandfather settled there around 1850 from Cornwall. Would love to go full circle and visit Cornwall some day, and maybe one or two of the Guardians that live in that direction!

I have family in Roswell and Ruidoso (well Albuquerque too but like you I dislike that place). Most of my NM family is scattered around the countryside between Portales and Fort Sumner though.

The Gila sure does sound nice. Hope you get to Cornwall some day. I was fortunate to live in North Yorkshire for a few years and they are some of my wife's and I fondest memories.

My brother lives just out side of Santa Fe, works at Los Alamos, been meaning to go visit him, then go up through Raton then up to Colorado for a trip.

I thought Española sounded familiar, my folks lived there for a short time in the early '90s.

I love to go straight up from Bartlesville OK to the Kansas line, hang a left and straight across through Guymon and on along the Cimmaron River into NM by Capulin Volcano into Raton. From there west to the Red River through Kit Carson Nat Forest to Angel Fire and on to Santa Fe and Taos. One of my favorite trips. It just doesn't get any better really. :)

Love Raton, Angel Fire, and the rest.:cool: More than anything this is making me hungry... :p:D

Been to Espanola...had a 1978 Porsche 911, you can imagine the looks I got from all the 'lowriders':D

Visited Taos and Santa Fe many times in past years. Many may not know that Santa Fe is an art haven. Many artists live and work there as well as many galleries.

LOL good though that you would have no trouble out running them.:D

Had some kind of funky chromatic deal going on with this pile side shot that I didn't notice while I was out. My phone suddenly went from mostly full to 10% battery while I was snapping, I think due to the "cold" (40 is cold in SE Texas o_O) temperature. That's my excuse anyway.

Very cool!
We had thought about moving to Ruidoso, lovely area, but getting through town during horse racing and ski season, would kinda take the pleasure out of it.

Awsome photo!:thumbsup::thumbsup:You can call that a very exclusive effect!
Hope you survive the brutal cold today!:D

Still a great photo. The cold will sure sap the life out of a cell phone!

I didn't give them any excuse to bother me...car was fast but not as fast as bullets:D

Thanks Jack. Hope you have a good weekend.

Thank you Dwight, you too my friend :) The weather has been rotten here most of the day, so I stayed in, and found plenty of chores. The heavy rain has finally stopped, and the wind dropped a little, so I've just been out for an early evening stroll to get some exercise

Lovely stag on your AC, Jack!:)

Thanks Dennis

Good Morning Guardians, and Happy Weekend to you all.
I'll be Totin' my Lambsfoot all weekend, so it better be sharp!

Nice choice John :)

Jack, I admire you and thank you for all the time and effort you put into this thread! Hope you get your 2019 Lambsfoot back soon and therre is no evidence of the mishap by the BFO.

Congratulations to all who have their 2019 and hope those of us still waiting a short wait.
Not quite like the cars('lowriders') in Espanola, but, best I could lay my hands on at the moment. Preston

Good job I've already eaten, or I would have definitely had to take part in that! :D
