Looking good Ron

I finally have viewed a pic of mine! Its thetone at the top between OG's and Piston and Gears. I had it sent to a friend who is in the U.K. It was delivered to him 2 days after Jack received themt but his father needed emergency surgery so understandably knife pics waited. To quote my friend "I think it's sterling work and very high quality". Can't wait for it to arrive in frozen Winnipeg. Thanks Jack. Even the most resized photos sent are too large to post so photos of mine must wait

I'm glad to learn it arrived with your friend

Thank you, Jack for all you have done. From bringing us the 2019 Guardian knife, to updating the class picture. :) Of course, I'm bonding to mine, and wouldn't trade, but I'm looking forward to seeing who will get that one with the dark, wavy lines just next to Prester John's. :D
I have been looking at all your pictures of ironwood lambs with increasing envy. I could stand it no more, so I decided to dive over the Pennines this morning to the fair city of Sheffield to see if I could scratch the itch. Managed to pick up a splendid Wright lambsfoot in ebony. Am very happy. The only downside is that I have seen a couple of others that I have added to the rather large already want list! I must have had twenty knives in hand whilst in the shop, all Sheffield made, and I must say the fit and finish off them all was really good. IView attachment 1074207 View attachment 1074208 was very impressed. Cheers fellas.
That ebony lambsfoot looks great, congrats. I'm jealous of your opportunity to pick through such knives in a shop. I'd have a hard time deciding and probably end up buying at least twice what I intended. :D

As usual, I complain when Spring comes early. I know folks who live in colder climates look forward to it, but we have such long, hot summers here that I relish a bit of chilly weather. Last week I took pictures of knives on ice, and yesterday it hit 90 degrees. It should be a little cooler this weekend, so I'll try to get outside in it.

Well now, I'm just plain happier than this guy (the legendary Porto) with my long awaited and newly welcomed Ironwood model!!!
Subtle complex beauty on the front, with racing stripes on the back, a mighty fine knife!!!
Great to see others arriving in the past few days as well.
I am at the far left in the group picture.

Congratulations, it's another beautiful ironwood Lamb.

Love the ebony, congratulations.

Thanks Rachel, that's also the one I've got my eye on! :D I think I would look forward to the cooler weather too :) Here it has been very Spring-like, I even went out for a walk without a jacket today. I dare say Winter may still have a few surprises in store though, like the snow we had at Easter last year  Nice pic of your Lambsfoot Rachel, and it's good to hear that you've bonded  I am missing mine, hoping Wright's should have the others done this week, and that they've been able to fix up my knife satisfactorily

I get through quite a lot of notebooks, and generally use the Field Notes standard brown notebook, which among other things, has a useful 6 inch rule printed in the inside back cover. When I'm hiking I generally carry a waterproof 'Rite in the Rain' notebook, but saw some waterproof Field Notes ones yesterday, and thought I'd give them a try. For some reason, they have replaced the inches with centimetres! :(

eFwnYeA.jpg

And yet the size of the notebook is still listed in inches in front...

I'm a Rhodia fan myself, using their A5 sized dot grid hardcover notebooks as my standard notebook. I also carry a smaller notebook in my left front pocket for jotting notes when I am out and about. I've thought about giving Field Notes a try for that role. Maybe I'll try their waterproof version for that the next time I'm due for a replacement.

Speaking of pockets, that's a lovely pocket companion you have with your notebook.

Home at last, home at last!! The doorbell rang at noon, and my sweetie signed for the package!!
Wet, because it's been drizzling all morning, but well packaged, so dry inside!! Phew!! Took out my trusty old C.Johnson, to make some judicious cuts, and behold, out popped some tin cans!!:D

Pile side.
Great photo, Vince!
Ew.
Though I might lay out my fretboard in mm rather than tiny inch fractions.
I'll start like this, with the neck and body flush, and apply a fingerboard later if I feel the need. Like if I irremediably mess up the first try on the frets.

Nice contrast in the wood, Jer. Is that one of your making?

That is an excellent photo, Rachel, the contrasts are striking.
Good Morning Guardians.
I'll be totin' my rosewood all weekend, and probably all week since I have it off from work.

Have a great time John, more pics!

Great Saturday morning to you Guardians, and have a great weekend.
I carry a Lambsfoot because...

It's penny wise:thumbsup::D

Morning Guardians! Some nice rainbow patina to start the weekend ;)
The sun is still here, the weather has been amazing the last few days (but the difference in temperature between the frozen mornings and the hot afternoons is scary - something like 20°C ). Feels like Spring already!

Wonderful patina, wonderful photo.

Looks like a winning hand ;)

I'm glad it made it, thank you for the kind words :) Those are splendid photos, and thanks for identifying it :)

Just click the 'Quote' button, (you can quote from multiple posts), then click the 'Insert Quotes' box which appears below the box where you write your post/reply. Then click 'Quote these messages'

The point is a little blunter, but it looks like Jared has reinvented the Lambsfoot ;) I'm seeing the blade on a lot of modern folders and fixed-blades too, sometimes referred to as a 'Reverse Tanto', seems folks realise how useful it is, but not what it is called :D May you have many more Lambsfoot knives ;)

Great pic :) The Ironwood definitely gives these knives a little more heft

You wouldn't have been the first! :D

He OUGHT to be branded! ;)

Hope you gets yours soon

Congratulations Charlie :) Fitting that your C.Johnson opened the package :)

Thanks guys, let me know if I don't get it right

Thanks Charlie :) Hard choice my friend

I'd second that recommendation :) I think I've been through the thread 3 times now, and it's a great read - and I learn stuff I've forgotten! :D

I'm glad you've finally received it my friend :) Great pic! :D

Here's the updated Class of 2019

Looking good on the other side Vince ;)

Morning Guardians, great to see this thread cracking along, and more folks receiving their 2019 Guardians knives :) No hike for me today, as I have stuff to do in the house :( Hoping I can at least get out for a bit of exercise later, with my AC in tow :) Hope everyone has a lovely weekend

I never get tired of your AC, Jack. Will probably carry mine some this week. Its younger ironwood sibling has been hogging my pocket!

Yes, the centimetres came as a complete surprise  My notebook usually goes in the top left pocket of my Barbour. I also recommend the Rite in the Rain notebooks, though they usually go in my pack or satchel. Thank you very much for the compliment :)

Great Saturday morning to you Guardians, and have a great weekend.

Cool pic Preston, and you have really captured the grain in that Ironwood

I would have that in tow at every opportunity, just a superb knife...stag:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you :)

Thanks Vince, I never thought I would take to the smaller size Lambsfoot as much as I have to the AC :) Whenever, I get a new knife we always have to have a honeymoon period ;)

Standard measurement has been so ingrained in me that it’s just what I know, but to be honest, I absolutely hate it. Took me 10 years to be able to look at a tape measure and instantly know which 1/8 or 1/16 I was looking at. I frequently work with materials that are pre-cut in metric though so I bought a Stanley Fat Max metric tape measure and it was sent to me from the UK..... I thought that’s what you all used there? The Egyptian guy at work begs me to give it to him every time he sees it. After using it, I have to say I think it’s a much easier measuring system. But I’ve been using standard for so long it’s what I think in.

Sorry to hear they switched up your notebook!

What torture it must’ve been to walk out of there with only 1. But it looks like a stunner! Great to hear that the fit and finish is looking good. I actaully have several knives on their way to me from Wright’s as we speak....:D
