Looks great.

Jack Black Jack Black I carry that very same slip daily. It’s wonderful. I’m feeling a little nostalgic looking at that Little Oscar Weiner thingy on the table. The last time I had one(a whistle), it was given to me by Little Oscar, himself.

WhittlinAway WhittlinAway That looks tasty.

Thanks a lot guys :)

Ace post Matt, you got a beauty there

A couple of weeks back, I mentioned that I had got a new Max Capadebarthes pocket slip for my Yorkshire Rose, but that I found it a little overly complicated.

Barrett @btb01 contacted me to offer to send me a KSF pocket-slip he had, which he thought would fit the bill. It arrived today, with a lovely letter from Barrett, and some other cool items. The slip is the perfect fit for a Big 'Un, and lets Rose show a little ankle ;) We were talking about pocket notebooks just the other day, both Barrett and I always have one to hand, and he kindly enclosed a couple of his favourite type, along with a nice vintage church-key, and a cute whistle incorporating my favourite vegetable ;) Thank you for your thoughtfulness Barrett, you're a great pal :)

Got my camera packed for tomorrow, so just using my old one :(
Pretty darn cool of Barrett!

Beautiful photo John :)
Thanks, Jack.

LOL! :D I was just thinking what a romantic you are John! :D I'd have done the same mate! ;)
She would actually thank me for saving a few dollars... I did it for her :D

Hoping, among others, I'll be picking up this one again, and that it'll still look something like it does here, before encountering the BFO
I've got my fingers crossed that they were able to undo the damage caused by the BFO.

One of my favorite uses for my Lambsfoot knife

For sure, incredible people, and many of them were very young when they made the long journey
Now, that same aged folks are largely playing video games about great adventures instead of living them.
Another great photo, Dave! :) Is that a watch band?
Thank you Jack :) today I go to the Doctor for test results. I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of "this tested to high and you need to do this and that"...;)
Hope your test results were ok! I guess we're no longer indestructible like we were in our yute! Don't feel bad, I was at the Neurosurgeon today, and have the nerve test thingy done on Monday. :rolleyes:o_O
Hang in there, Dave.
Yup. On indefinite loan from my brother. I think knives, but he thinks I should give decorative ironwork a try. Good idea, too. It's outrageous what you can pay for a sheet-iron leaf. And hooks on a spike! I still have to build a stand for it. Preferably with wheels.
Great!
I have a 100# Peter Wright (biy, that Wright clan was a busy lot!:D) and a small gas forge. Gotta get busy again!:thumbsup:
Great stuff, Dennis, I loved the pic, and hearing about your family history.
Thank you very much, Chin!:)
Well I know it’s Wooden Wednesday, but my Lambsfoot choice today is Stag! :p

Love the coloring of your stag. And perfect background.:thumbsup:
My grandfather died of silicosis, he mined gold and silver in Colorado near Silver plume and Idaho Springs. After he passed my mother showed me pieces that looked those on the top right. Horrible death!
It's certainly a hard and dangerous life. My dad did do some underground mining, but most of it was in a large open pit mine in Santa Rita, also known as Chino. My dad was born there when part of it was a mountain...now it's a pit.:(

Wow, absolutely beautiful, both the trail and you Lamb foto!:thumbsup:
Looks humid there!
I ordered another knife this morning I just had to see what the two blade was for myself. My Rogers Lambsfoot Barlow should be here any day now. Here's the two blade I ordered this morning.

Good Morning Guardians... Another day for the Rose.

Perfect setting in my opinion!:p:thumbsup:
This is from the seller's post.

Look forward to some home grown pics!:thumbsup:
As mentioned previously, I'm off over to Sheffield tomorrow. I think I'm going to carry this one, show Wright's some jigged bone ;)

That is one beautiful piece of wood. Have you polished it up with anything?

I've seen some of the comments about the growing scarcity of ebony wood. At the risk of coming off as uncaring about the conservation of natural resources I was wondering if anyone knew if the Famous Sheffield Shop was going to be stocking any more of these black beauties? I guess I can always wait for an ebony lambsfoot to hit the for sale section but it doesn't appear that happens all that often. Apologies in advance to anyone I might offend or put off.

Thanks

Brent

I'm in the camp of wanting more ebony too, if it can be obtained. Seems GEC uses the crud out of the stuff, I wonder if that's going to slow down now?

Thanks, Dennis:thumbsup: Neurosurgeon  what's that about or do they know yet? This old timer stuff is something we used to look at when we were young and spout off I'll never be like that!:oops: Keep us informed my friend.

So I had to take in a stool sample today I handed this to the nurse. :p:p

I would also throw Australian Gidgee into the ring for consideration.

Good suggestion. I have some samples of gidgee, both plain and figured (we call it fiddleback here) and the figured gidgee would be a definite contender.

Also a good contender would be verawood, AKA Argentinian Lignum Vitae. It is very similar to true lignum vitae in hardness, toughness, density, and water resistance due to high oil content. And it has very interesting feathering in the grain, much more than is seen in true lignum vitae. General color is similar to true lignum vitae, but with more of a greenish or yellowish cast.
