Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

It's a full time job keeping up with this thread. I'm not even going to try.

Jack, have you thought about walnut? Readily available, it can look really good. The handle on the top left knife is made from walnut.

Real nice Mykel!

Ray
Thanks Ray.

A couple good looking new arrivals from dc50 and mykel, very nice guys.
I sure enjoy seeing some of the outdoor pictures from Travman, Jack, Padruig, Prester John, and others without the mountain of snow that I look at each day.
Missouri Meerschaum, btb01, I like it. :)
Here is a little math themed fun with 5K Qs in mind...

Thanks.
When I saw your pic of the early calculator I thought to myself that that looks familiar, very familiar, but I'm not sure if I saw one as a kid or something similar so long ago.

I ordered a Rogers lambsfoot barlow it came and had a clip point not to mention very poor fit and finish. I hope they take it back.
Well you have a very unique knife in a clip point lambsfoot at least.;)

I bought a Rogers Barlow off ebay quite a few years back and the F&F was so bad I sent it back.
Good luck on returning it.

Here is the other side as requested CD.

Thank you My friend, look forward to the next time we shall meet up.

Nice looking covers in the sun.

Definitely looking good there.

Deep rich colors on your 2019, gorgeous.

Love the shape of the swirls toward the end of the handle.

That’s some of the nicest Pére David (?) stag I’ve seen!

I've got behind, so I'll just say some great knives posted over the weekend!!:)

Awesome oxhorn, Dennis! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
Thank you very much, Gary!
I took a drive into town to check my mail box today and low and behold there was an airmail packet from Sheffield waiting for me.

My little Rosie's here and I am very pleased to say the least!
F&F is better than expected with just the slightest gap on the hind end pile side.(need a flashlight to see light through it)
It isn't a nail breaker, though it opens and closes with real authority and I can pinch it open no problem, due in no small part to the substantial nail nick I'm sure.
The wood has some nice light and dark figuring to it, and it came sharp enough to cut paper curlies on the nice hand written note included from The Famous Sheffield Shop.(sorry, can't make out the name of the person that wrote it. Starts with a P.)

This first pic is indoors in front of my computer and the next are outdoors in better light.

If the 2019 Guardians knife is anything like this economy version of the A.Wright and Son's Lambsfoot, then I am surely in for a treat when it gets here.:)
Fantastic, Mykel! A great one for sure! Jack certainly did an outstanding job, with each one better than the last!
Well, I was very very surprised when I got the mail it only took 3 weeks rather than the usual 8 weeks! @JohnDF I am now your neighbor. :D:p

Congratulations, Dave!! As others have said, definitely worth the wait!!:thumbsup: Look forward to many more photos! By the way...I don't see the moose either...maybe some bourbon will help!:D:thumbsup:

Super-helpful post Duncan, it looked to me like the blade had simply not been sharpened right to the tip

Hey there Jack my friend - that’s the first thing I looked at - I held a card on the photo along the top of the Bevel of the edge- and ran it off the tip - It still leaves a round tip, I brought the Card up until the round tip was gone - and to blend in that edge would be quite a loss of blade in the front of the blade - so if he did bring the Spine back just a peek- that tip would be almost needle point.

Lol - I am SO sorry if I am rambling - - I love tinkering with this sort of stuff - interesting experiment for readers to try - check it with a business card whatever on the photo - it sort lets you know the approach you can take on either lifting up the blade edge - or use the card on the downward slope of the Lambsfoot towards the tip - it gives you a premonition of what the blade could look like once finished.

Oh man fodderwing - that’s a beautiful shot of your knife right there !!!
