Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

rag3OHL.jpg

Another great bunch of Lambsfoot pictures to go along with my morning coffee. Thanks guys.

Good day Guardians! I've not had much time to post, and keeping up with reading has been difficult, too. But I'm popping in for a post and hope ya'll are doing well.

Joshua articulates my situation very well, although I do manage to keep up with reading this thread; I love the wide-ranging topics addressed here, but by the time I read everything, I seem to have little time left for the "large" posts I used to make. Like Joshua, I'll say hello and wish everyone well. Great pics of your ironwood lambsfoot, Joshua! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

... I wasn't expecting anyone to know Shady Grove, That CD cover is from Jerry Garcia and David Grisman. One of my favorites.
DSC_0243.JPG

...
I also recognized "Shady Grove", Preston, but the version I know is from the album of the same name by Quicksilver Messenger Service! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Wishing my fellow Guardians a fantastic Thursday that leads to a fruitful Friday and a fabulous weekend.

Mine is off to a good start already with a few of my favorite things. :)
Great photo, Greg! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

...
Thanks all who wished me a speedy recovery from my bike crash. I am ok, just a little sore.
Plus, it is hard to not blame myself a little bit, I was riding a brake-less track bike, on the street, in the rain. :rolleyes:
...
Glad you're doing OK, FBC, and I suppose you CAN share some of the blame!! :eek::D Almost everyone I know who bikes regularly has crashed at least once, it seems. Thanks for the pic of your machine. :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

It's final! my ironwood lambsfoot will be called "The Totem" :D

Fantastic name choice, Dave! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::)

...
I think the Rocket is at MOSI for a few more months yet, in case you find yourself anywhere near Manchester.
...
Thanks for the pics of the Rocket, David. :cool::cool::thumbsup: Any idea why that name was given? I think of "rocket" as an aerial means of transport that didn't come about until 20th century, so Rocket for a train engine struck me as way ahead of its time!

RALF asked me a question today for which I had no good answer. He said he doesn't have a bad side, so why have I never taken a photo of him from the back? All I could do was acquiesce, and a bit sheepishly at that! ;) Of course, he was right.

Great pic, Jeff! :cool::thumbsup::cool: I hope RALF doesn't take this wrong, but he's got a good-looking backside! :D

In the mouth of the mask...

Interesting photo, Senhor José! Your stag lambsfoot is very appealing. :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Morning Guardians, Friday is here! :) I'm slipping the big ebony in my pocket :thumbsup:

Big ebony is impressive in that red/black tableau, Jack! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

I'm just heading out to work but in keeping with the tribal theme here's a Javanese Dancing Girl. This young lady must be about 80 years old now.

Hope everyone has a great Friday. :thumbsup:
Splendid photo, David! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Here’s a couple from County Donegal, the neighbouring county to the west of Tyrone:

The stack of faces reminded me of this sinister shaman-suit from the Sepik Vale culture in Papua New Guinea.

Chin, I've enjoyed your many fine pics of Ireland (as well as the recent ones related to your great great grandfather - every man should have a swivel cannon;)). The shaman-suit reminds me of the image on a Douk-Douk. :cool::thumbsup:

Gooood morning Guardians! :eek: I’m totin the little brother to Jack’s Bigun today! ;) Y’all have a great day! :D

A good Friday morning to you Guardians! What a pleasure to come here and see great Lamb Foot knives, the fabulous photos of them make it even better. Good way to start the morning. I have errands to run today and Iron Mike will accompany me.

Great stuff Greg :) :thumbsup:
Great photo, Greg! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Thank you very much, gentlemen.

Beautiful photo, knife and spoon, Greg. Is the spoon your own work?

Thanks Chin. No, that scoop was made by a carver named Tom Bartlett. I'm not yet capable of that level of precision. It's a wonderful piece of work and when you hold it in your hand you can feel the skill and confidence that went into its construction. It's perfectly sized so that a heaping scoop of beans is just the right amount to go into the grinder for a double shot of espresso. It's hard to explain what a delight that is when I'm making coffee in the morning.

Good to see you here, Gary. I was starting to worry! This thread does move right along.

Glad you're doing OK, FBC, and I suppose you CAN share some of the blame!! :eek::D Almost everyone I know who bikes regularly has crashed at least once, it seems. Thanks for the pic of your machine. :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

I know I've had my share of crashes. Thank God I was wearing my helmet last time: I landed face first, but the protusion on the front of the helmet kept my nose and glasses from being damaged!
Kevin does have a good looking bike.

Thanks for the pics of the Rocket, David. :cool::cool::thumbsup: Any idea why that name was given? I think of "rocket" as an aerial means of transport that didn't come about until 20th century, so Rocket for a train engine struck me as way ahead of its time!

I suspect fireworks rockets have been around a long time. They even had them in the Shire! And Handel had some Royal Fireworks music. Of course, the Chinese....

Sorry to hear that mate. I had a hiatal hernia, and that was one of the worst things - not being able to enjoy hot, spicy foods. Since getting it fixed, I’ve been making up for lost time! I recall Nexium helped too.

Thanks pal, I'm sorry to hear you had the same problem, but the fact that you can now enjoy the food you love once again, does give me hope for the future :thumbsup:

Spectacularly beautiful photos my friend :) :thumbsup:

I uncovered this old pic of my great great grandfathers traditional Chinese funeral when I was in Malaysia:

He must have been quite a character, the sort of figure described by tabloid papers as a ‘colourful identity’.

Here’s a swivel cannon he had - I guess originally from a Portuguese, Dutch or English ship:

From the early 13th century I think :thumbsup: Congratulations on the multi-posts Vince! :D :thumbsup:

I guess it's no secret that I like music so with that in mind, here's my attempt at bringing some of my fav's your way.
Check out how the tone arm bounces in time to the beat.
