Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

30 minutes to midnight(CST) so let’s just call this Monday. Good Morning Guardians. Sorry Jack. Birthday Weekend is over. Have a good journey today.:)

The first time I saw the Senator on Wright’s site, I wasn’t a fan. Didn’t like the double bolsters or the size, etc. Fast forward to Saturday. I saw an older one on the Auction Site. It had a worked back with what I believe is a Père David scale on one side and Stag on the other. I won the Auction for a price I couldn’t refuse. Upon opening the package, I immediately fell in love with this gem. Not as big as the regular Lamb, but it fills the hand nicely. Nice weight, and easily EDCable. I like both sides, but the Père David makes an excellent “worry stone.” I’m not telling anyone to get a Senator, but for me, it’s an instant friend. Powdered donuts are optional.:)

Great pics as usual, everyone. I’m loving seeing those verdant spring colours with your Lambsfoot knives!

Great card, and I love the image of The Black Prince under the Black Flag.:cool:;)

That's a plus on the weather as well Jack, beautiful countryside. Here is a quick snap I took yesterday at one of our local picnic spots. The temp was 62 F the crystal clear lake needs a couple more warm days to show itself.

Amazing country, Dave. Best of luck with finding the right buyer for your house, mate.

I suspect there'll be a few 'salty tales' in this book, I received for my birthday ;)

Ooh, that looks like a great read, Jack!

I received this razor strop as a gift yesterday

Another great gift. Those pics would go well in the Slippies Stones and Strops thread. Buzzbait has some very cool traditional sharpening gear in there.

Safe travels to Sheffield, my friend.

Fantastic Randy, I wish I had my old comics

Yeah I wish I still had all my old 2000ADs!

Most of my comics are digital these days.

Vince, there’s still some great stuff out there - as good or better than anything from the Gold or Silver Age IMHO. Anything written by Alan Moore is a safe bet. If you enjoy noir films and books, Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips’ Criminal series and The Fade Out graphic novel are also excellent.

And if you want to relive that classic Gold and Silver Age style, check out Moore’s Tom Strong series.

Found this modern day Richartz from Germany. I think(hope) this qualifies as a Lamb.

Very interesting knife Harvey, I've just had a look on their website, but couldn't see it

Edit - I did find a few more by doing an image search, but no info yet. What about this one?!

Ah, but you're making a strong assumption my friend ;) That it is an interpretation of a Lambsfoot.

I hope you don't mind me posting this pic from the PM you sent me for clarity's sake (I'm happy to remove it otherwise)?

While the fact that the spine and blade are not parallel is very interesting, and clearly a product of design, I think that if Richartz had wanted to make a Lambsfoot they'd have simply copied a Sheffield Lambsfoot. This knife may have been influenced by the Lambsfoot, but then it may very well not have been, it could have been influenced by a shoe-knife or some type of artist's knife. With it's plastic covers, and utilitarian form, my own guess would be that this knife had a specific purpose, rather than being a general pocket knife, and that what it has in common with a Lambsfoot may well be coincidental. First, we need to do more research and find out what Richartz had in mind for that knife, and what purpose it was sold for, because guesses are not enough, we need to have facts ;)

Please don't get me started on those %$£&*~#?£ Lionsteel knives! Nothing wrong with the knives, just in the wrong forum

Here's the traditional version! :D

I was talking about your knife to it's creator today Harvey :) With that tang stamp, it's an early one, about 15 years old. Before Wright's secured the Pere David though. I think you got a bargain my friend :) Those pics are fantastic! :D

Thanks a lot pal, superb pics there :) I had boxes and boxes of 2000AD :( After seeing the film version of TLOEG, I can understand Alan Moore's aversion to cinema! :D At least he didn't write Tank Girl! :D
